I loved the color deck, too, and will need to watch that again. It would be very helpful if you had a demo of pulling fabrics for one of those colorways. I have difficulty translating the color chips with fabrics.

Love, love, love the special gift wrapping. I may just adopt it.

Alex love that about a color you hate. Recently heard a speaker talk about pickle color. So she challenged herself to use that and loved it afterwards when she put a project together

I think the cards are a fun way to play with colour. No wrong decision in the end but allows for play time and maybe allowing us to use Colours you wouldn’t normally use.

When I add new fabric to my stash, I use a Pigma pen to write its predominant color number from my 3-in-1 Color Tool on the selvage. I use my Ott light to help me pick the best color, but sometimes I get frustrated because a fabric color seems to be somewhere between two adjacent colors.

Interesting, but I can't see myself willingly adding brown to any of those groupings

Wow! Sounds overwhelming! Even though I'm sure it's a good tool for some, since you can separate the colors out from the whole color wheel. But, I'm at the point where I'm only making quilts from my scraps. Somehow, I've managed to pull colors together that make my tops look really nice.

I taught elementary education, teaching the basic colors of red, yellow and blue. NOW we've got magenta, yellow and cyan as well. Artists palette vs graphic palette

What or Where is "Creative Spark" that Amy mentioned doing 45 minutes on this Color Card Deck??

Creative Spark (I'm pretty sure) is the online classes that Alex 's watercolor teacher teaches.

Where did the term "Colour Story" come from? Aren't they Colour Schemes that were created? Additional terminology adds to confusion for me. These cards look good because of their size, but I don't think there are as many colour options as are on Joan's colour tool. But it is a problem that the swatches are really small on the colour tool.

Whew these color cards and this video are advanced! I know many people are challenged by color but in my opinion these cards add more challenge. This was a very intimidating video to me, and I’ve been seriously quilting for 28 years. I have no art education or art background. I hope your listeners/watchers don’t feel they have to learn all of this in order to put colors together to make a successful quilt. I’m so very afraid this will discourage some from continuing their quilting journey.

I've been quilting since 1975. One of my favorite parts of quilting is fabric selection (I think because it's an exciting beginning). My other favorite part is hand binding (because it's almost done and time for another!)
I know lots of quilters who get frustrated with fabric selection. I can see this method adding to the confusion or taking the guess away.
Like pineapple on pizza--you'll love it or not!🙂
