Definitely makes sense that the Prescotts know about the incoming storm and that Pan Estates is related to it. I actually think that not only do the Prescotts know that it's happening but also that they are influencing it to happen. Samuel even says "someone is causing all of this" which is pretty weird to say (as opposed to "something") unless a person was actually causing it. Also, I only just realised now that a tornado is like a vortex, hence the Vortex Club.

"stay away from the prescotts, they have something to do with death." Strange. Why not say "I believe they are deadly?" Indeed, the way she chooses to phase this sentence is rather odd.. unless you consider this as another reference to the whole "et in Arcadia ego" idea. Because if it were, suddenly this reads as her saying "where ever you go, there the prescotts/death is." Considering this is coming from someone who actually has just escaped death, who was actually close to it recently, this is almost spooky. Also of interest, by using the phrase "et in Arcadia ego" in correlation with the prescotts, the word ego takes on a double meaning and lines up in the EXACT same way that kate is warning us. In english, ego is a sense of self importance, a trait the prescotts are know for. For example, "This is our town, we own you." But in latin, ego means simply "I" and when used in "et in Arcadia ego" it refers to death. Ergo, just as kate is telling us, the prescotts equal death. I can't help but wonder if this is foreshadowing.
The peace with nature concept is really interesting considering the bird and her eggs inside Chloe's house. I think the game was originally going to have a lot more to it in terms of what choices you made but ran out of budget which is why that all went out the window. For example, saving the bird and her eggs somehow gave you something in return because you harmonized with nature while not saving them would give you a consequence.
So then if all of this is true... then the right answer /was/ to pick Chloe and not the town! Because THEN the Prescotts' plans would go into place and they'd have that shelter to shield their chosen from the storm. That would actually make a lot more sense. I mean I always viewed the game as "If you're going to keep saving Chloe's ass from dying, you might as well save her in the end, because that's the whole point of wanting to save her" but this is cool! Somehow the Prescotts /did/ know the storm was coming
Yes yes yes yes hella yes. I've always supported the theory that the Prescotts could be the ones trying to destroy Arcadia because of the bunker and their descriptions of destroying it and owning everythig, but I was always so vague about it. I never noticed Pan Estates! I feel so dumb, this was great! It's a theory that definitley counters the "marked for death" theory which i don't really like.

to give the last comment a bit of background, I consider Samuel to be "Pan". If you take in his ability with animals and how he constantly seems to have the mindset that it isn't his place to get involved, it makes sense. It also explains why he encourages Max- he's hoping she'll be able to save his town, or, "paradise".

ooooo another theory video! This was so interesting! I never put much thought into Pan Estates, but the Prescotts using it to take advantage of the pending storm fits their slimy opportunistic ways for sure. They could make a massive profit as well as possibly appear as "heroes" by "saving" Arcadia bay. The analysis on the name "Pan" Estates was really awesome and it makes sense for such a name to exist, and it gives further context around the world of Arcadia Bay, which adds to the Prescotts maybe knowing the storm is coming. This video and the last one about Mr. Jefferson hold a lot of weight it seems as they do make sense, and I think you could be right on the money moving forward to the final episode of the game. This was awesomely put together! The speculation was well thought out and the editing was fantastic. Great job dude! ^_^

Like you correctly extrapolated, the Prescott family knew about the storm. Among the unused audio files, you can find the one after Nathan gets beaten by Warren and goes back to his room in which he says something like "the storm is coming, we are all dead!". Initially, the cause of the storm was not going to be Chloe being saved, but an ancient Indian curse on the Prescotts. Therefore, the Star Trek-inspired ending of save Bay VS save Bae was not going to be implemented. On its place, an ending in which Chloe got shot and fell into a coma was to take place. Also, the main antagonist would have been Sean Prescott and not Jeffersonofabitch. There is so much stuff about the Prescotts and about Jefferson which got cut out of the game, it makes me want to see someday a remake of LiS with all that content implemented.

Wow, watching this late , I think the doe is Rachel Amber watching and guiding max, and that the Prescott somehow know about the destruction of Blackwell . Which leads me to thinking that Rachel used to have the power to change time like max does and that she had the same premonitions about the destruction. The prescotts(knowing of Rachel's powers ) hired Mr Jefferson (with the help of Nathan )to kill Rachel and take the horrid pictures of the girls as a plus for him ......other than that , I'm out of speculations
They wanted to kill her to take the opportunity to build housing estates to gain profits, and in theory rebuild Arcadia in their image and own everything,killing Rachel so that she cannot stop the destruction of Arcadia
Wow, I hadn't thought about how the name of the estates connects with other stuff in the game. As far as names though, that fisherman at the Two Whales did tell Max that there was talk or something about Arcadia Bay being renamed Prescott Bay. That could be what was meant by new branding. I also think that mentioning the enema could refer to not only the storm but also refer to what Mr. Jefferson has been doing.
Very interesting! The fact that Peter Pan estates could be a sort of safe house to ones close to the Prescotts or ones that they deem fit for what they plan to do with Arcadia Bay is very fitting. They must know what is about to happen if not directly responsible. I still think it has something to do with like a man vs. nature and the deer is a personification of nature responding to this man made weather thing trying to rectify it. Dang when does the next episode drop? We need answers, Squeenix. Think of the people!

This is awesome! okay okay so if the creepy Prescott family did know about the storm, how? They would have to be in contact with a time traveler, someone other than Max... but who? Maybe its Jefferson, or Rachel Amber? David? He had a lot of information and was making his investigation very serious to him like a life or death matter. I bet there is a lot more to do with this than it just being a hunch he chose to investigate until he had proof. What about that homeless woman? She talks about being a thousand years old, said she married bad (maybe a Prescott ) and then lost it all.. I feel Luke there's a lot more to her than is being said..strange. William? Maybe he desperately wanted to help Chloe even beyond the grave, Max gets her powers just in time to save Chloe... odd unless the butterfly is Rachel or Chloe herself from the future, also think about the red pick up truck from the alt. reality, the Ken Chloe would've got of her dad was alive, the car he would've bought her... who knows :)

Nathan can travel/see into the future, that is how they know, and why they say he is ill and needs medication, or they do it on purpose for some reason. So maybe Arcadia Bay was destined to die, and not Chloe?
Maybe Sean does know as I stated in my theory earlier tonight but maybe I was wrong about him being a time traveler, maybe I'm even wrong in time traveling directly effecting the environment, but it's still a possibility. More so maybe you are supposed to chose to save Chloe for season 2. Maybe the storm was always meant to happen and maybe it will happen anyway with or without Max there to speed up the due date.
Great theory and awesome breakdown of everything! I was also thinking that they might know about the storm. I'm also assuming that if they are aware of what's to come, then they don't have a way to stop it. Since the Prescotts have been in Arcadia Bay for a long time and own most of the town, if the storm wipes out the town then there goes their fortune and legacy. However, with the creation of Pan Estates they will be able to keep their wealth and power, as well as appear as heroes to the townsfolk.

Yes the prescotts know about the storm, in the trailer for ep4 you hear Nathan say something like "the storm is coming, you are all gonna die".. I haven't heard him saying this in the actual game though
So many interesting thoughts, obviously, the Prescotts are really messed up. A few of my own speculations; the Whale Call CD in Nathan's dorm room. Part of an effort to actually beach the whales? With so many bad things happening in the bay, it seems as though someone is ruining things on purpose. (To what end?) Also, check the bullets Chloe was wearing around her neck when she got shot. She lifted her gun to take aim, but maybe those bullets needed to be loaded into her gun. (A sign of her faith in Max?) And finally, Pan figured greatly in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A dreamy story about an Arcadia Bay type place. Dramatic versions were usually accompanied by Debussy's "Afternoon of a Faun." (A reference to Max's spirit guide?)
Dave Scha All of those things could be so! I like the Shakespeare connection & Debussy is always perfect. The whale CD is really intriguing! I made another theory that connects the whales somewhat, it's cool that you thought of that! It is just one big WTF that Nathan has (I know he's done some freaky shit but the whales CD sticks out as different).

Very interesting view on the Prescotts! It does make sense if the Prescotts are the actual ones causing the storm, or maybe just know about it! (Someone can see into the future most likely) Anyways, since we control Max, it kind of feels like what some people's responses with time traveling (MS.GRANTTTT) that it feels like Max is causing the storm. Lets just say if the Prescotts are the ones causing the storm, maybe that means Max was put there to prevent it. idk, but very good video! Can't wait to see more! ^~^

I'm not 100% convinced, but I sure won't be surprised if you're 100% right. >.< The main thing that I'm uncertain about is Sean Prescott knowing about the storm. On the one hand, fully-stocked survival bunker paid for by him makes it seem pretty obvious that he knows something is going down soon (part of my brain says "paranoid dude with tons of money, not a big surprise" in response to that, but that's far too vague of a reason for a game with this much detail, and also Sean Prescott has not been painted as a particularly paranoid person. Alliteration.) But on the other hand, if the storm and surviving it is the "Prescott destiny" he's talking about, and he was first informed of it by his father, and Pan Estates is his Plan A for survival... then why isn't Pan Estates ready to go before the game even starts? He's cutting it EXTREMELY close if he actually knows what's about to happen. It's always possible that he doesn't understand the magnitude of the impending storm, but still, why wouldn't he play it safe? It's pretty soundly established that he can afford to play it as safe as he wants to, after all, and it certainly seems like the Prescott's control of Arcadia Bay has been in place for the majority of Nathan's life, so I doubt it was a matter of difficulty acquiring the land he wanted/needed. All that said, the Arcadia Bay/Pan connection is something I've completely missed up until this point, and considering the level of detail in Life Is Strange I would be astonished if that wasn't intentional and relevant. Also for some reason Sean's email just comes off to me as "Don't create bad publicity for me before this gets off the ground, as once it's up and running we will have even more control to reconfigure this town however we want it", but that also falls into the category of "too simple for this game for me to think it's what's actually going on". Edit: something that just occurred to me, if Nathan is in on the "Prescott destiny" at this point, and it involves knowing about/surviving the storm, why does he comfort himself with the idea that he can blow up the school in Episode 1? I mean, yes, technically he could blow it up and suffer no repercussions before the storm, but blowing something up is what you do when you want people to remember you did it. Why do it when you know there's not going to be many people around to remember it? I'm probably reading far too much into an angry, scared, delusional guy's rant, though.

It can be done only by forcing them to. I'm sure. after storm all Arcadia Bay residents will be under Prescott's control. Another theory I've read was about Jefferson and Prescott's working together for piace in the world. As for me, they absolutely are working together, no doubt, but only for their own advantage.

Interesting. I too suspects there's more to pan estates than is immediately apparent. At first, I figured that the "pan" part of pan estates referred to the prefix pan (as in "of everything", PANdemic, for example), but I just discovered something that lends some credence to your theory. You see, there's a painting by a guy named Nicolas Poussin called "Et in Arcadia Ego" and it depicts a pastoral scene with SHEPHERDS clustered around a TOMB. Maybe there is something there.
+zazanza Yeah! That's the painting I saw, too. Pan is strongly linked with shepherds, so the concept of the Prescotts trying to herd people into the estates doesn't seem too far fetched to me.

Nathan's father talk about "our destiny" to Nathan in relation to Pan Estates. I'm thinking they either want to make sure that those they deem "worthy" survive the storm or that those that stand in their way perish. In either case (provided they succeed) they'd be free to remake Arcadia Bay in their image. I'm not sure about how creepy, black-and-white photos of drugged out, teenage girls help them, however...
+zazanza I'm wondering now if all the good things the Prescotts have done in the past was built up for some bigger scheme. If Sean Prescott is suppose to be the Greek god Pan who is going to lead the sheep it would fit with the contrast theme the game has got. The whole shepherd image looks pretty innocent but Pan's image has also been used to represent evil. On a side note, value gaming made a video on names that went into the meaning behind Nathan Prescott's name. I don't think they thought that much into his name but when he points out what the names mean and how it could be interpreted it freaked me out a little. It certainly fits with whats happening in the story.
The Prescots are offering people to survive the incoming storm. People have no money. Prescots will loan money to people. People have no money to pay back after storm is over. People are working for the prescots. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prescots plan is to use the storm to gain control over people.

K1ttenShopping The problem with Life is Strange is quiet simple for me. Authors were inspired by Twin Peaks. When U're watchin Twin Peaks and don't get sth U just go to movies done by Lynch. There are hints. But when U're playin Life is Strange U're like a child in the mist since there is no other game wich would help U understand symbolicism. Luckly there are ppl who find inspirations in culture but there are plots that are not so vivid. Life is Strange needs another game 'cause universum isn't completed. I'm typing it to state one thing - Prescott was meant to kill Chloe but what does it mean? Since young Prescott wasn't such a devil at all.

This was so interesting! I never put much thought into Pan Estates, but the Prescotts using it to take advantage of the pending storm fits their slimy opportunistic ways for sure. They could make a massive profit as well as possibly appear as "heroes" by "saving" Arcadia bay.
The analysis on the name "Pan" Estates was really awesome and it makes sense for such a name to exist, and it gives further context around the world of Arcadia Bay, which adds to the Prescotts maybe knowing the storm is coming.
This video and the last one about Mr. Jefferson hold a lot of weight it seems as they do make sense, and I think you could be right on the money moving forward to the final episode of the game. This was awesomely put together! The speculation was well thought out and the editing was fantastic. Great job dude! ^_^

Like you correctly extrapolated, the Prescott family knew about the storm.
Among the unused audio files, you can find the one after Nathan gets beaten by Warren and goes back to his room in which he says something like "the storm is coming, we are all dead!".
Initially, the cause of the storm was not going to be Chloe being saved, but an ancient Indian curse on the Prescotts. Therefore, the Star Trek-inspired ending of save Bay VS save Bae was not going to be implemented. On its place, an ending in which Chloe got shot and fell into a coma was to take place.
Also, the main antagonist would have been Sean Prescott and not Jeffersonofabitch.
There is so much stuff about the Prescotts and about Jefferson which got cut out of the game, it makes me want to see someday a remake of LiS with all that content implemented.
This is very interesting! I found a video about 4 months ago that talked about the whole death thing you talked about and Arcadia from Geek Remix but you added your own twist and added more information and stuff. Keep up the good work!

Wow, watching this late , I think the doe is Rachel Amber watching and guiding max, and that the Prescott somehow know about the destruction of Blackwell . Which leads me to thinking that Rachel used to have the power to change time like max does and that she had the same premonitions about the destruction. The prescotts(knowing of Rachel's powers ) hired Mr Jefferson (with the help of Nathan )to kill Rachel and take the horrid pictures of the girls as a plus for him ......other than that , I'm out of speculations
They wanted to kill her to take the opportunity to build housing estates to gain profits, and in theory rebuild Arcadia in their image and own everything,killing Rachel so that she cannot stop the destruction of Arcadia

Wow, I hadn't thought about how the name of the estates connects with other stuff in the game. As far as names though, that fisherman at the Two Whales did tell Max that there was talk or something about Arcadia Bay being renamed Prescott Bay. That could be what was meant by new branding. I also think that mentioning the enema could refer to not only the storm but also refer to what Mr. Jefferson has been doing.
Very interesting! The fact that Peter Pan estates could be a sort of safe house to ones close to the Prescotts or ones that they deem fit for what they plan to do with Arcadia Bay is very fitting. They must know what is about to happen if not directly responsible. I still think it has something to do with like a man vs. nature and the deer is a personification of nature responding to this man made weather thing trying to rectify it.

Nathan can travel/see into the future, that is how they know, and why they say he is ill and needs medication, or they do it on purpose for some reason. So maybe Arcadia Bay was destined to die, and not Chloe?
Maybe Sean does know as I stated in my theory earlier tonight but maybe I was wrong about him being a time traveler, maybe I'm even wrong in time traveling directly effecting the environment, but it's still a possibility. More so maybe you are supposed to chose to save Chloe for season 2. Maybe the storm was always meant to happen and maybe it will happen anyway with or without Max there to speed up the due date.
Great theory and awesome breakdown of everything! I was also thinking that they might know about the storm. I'm also assuming that if they are aware of what's to come, then they don't have a way to stop it. Since the Prescotts have been in Arcadia Bay for a long time and own most of the town, if the storm wipes out the town then there goes their fortune and legacy. However, with the creation of Pan Estates they will be able to keep their wealth and power, as well as appear as heroes to the townsfolk.

Yes the prescotts know about the storm, in the trailer for ep4 you hear Nathan say something like "the storm is coming, you are all gonna die".. I haven't heard him saying this in the actual game though

So many interesting thoughts, obviously, the Prescotts are really messed up.
A few of my own speculations; the Whale Call CD in Nathan's dorm room. Part of an effort to actually beach the whales? With so many bad things happening in the bay, it seems as though someone is ruining things on purpose. (To what end?)
Also, check the bullets Chloe was wearing around her neck when she got shot. She lifted her gun to take aim, but maybe those bullets needed to be loaded into her gun. (A sign of her faith in Max?)
And finally, Pan figured greatly in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A dreamy story about an Arcadia Bay type place. Dramatic versions were usually accompanied by Debussy's "Afternoon of a Faun." (A reference to Max's spirit guide?)
Dave Scha All of those things could be so! I like the Shakespeare connection & Debussy is always perfect. The whale CD is really intriguing! I made another theory that connects the whales somewhat, it's cool that you thought of that! It is just one big WTF that Nathan has (I know he's done some freaky shit but the whales CD sticks out as different).

Very interesting view on the Prescotts! It does make sense if the Prescotts are the actual ones causing the storm, or maybe just know about it! (Someone can see into the future most likely) Anyways, since we control Max, it kind of feels like what some people's responses with time traveling (MS.GRANTTTT) that it feels like Max is causing the storm. Lets just say if the Prescotts are the ones causing the storm, maybe that means Max was put there to prevent it. idk, but very good video! Can't wait to see more! ^~^

The main thing that I'm uncertain about is Sean Prescott knowing about the storm. On the one hand, fully-stocked survival bunker paid for by him makes it seem pretty obvious that he knows something is going down soon (part of my brain says "paranoid dude with tons of money, not a big surprise" in response to that, but that's far too vague of a reason for a game with this much detail, and also Sean Prescott has not been painted as a particularly paranoid person. Alliteration.) But on the other hand, if the storm and surviving it is the "Prescott destiny" he's talking about, and he was first informed of it by his father, and Pan Estates is his Plan A for survival... then why isn't Pan Estates ready to go before the game even starts? He's cutting it EXTREMELY close if he actually knows what's about to happen. It's always possible that he doesn't understand the magnitude of the impending storm, but still, why wouldn't he play it safe? It's pretty soundly established that he can afford to play it as safe as he wants to, after all, and it certainly seems like the Prescott's control of Arcadia Bay has been in place for the majority of Nathan's life, so I doubt it was a matter of difficulty acquiring the land he wanted/needed.
All that said, the Arcadia Bay/Pan connection is something I've completely missed up until this point, and considering the level of detail in Life Is Strange I would be astonished if that wasn't intentional and relevant.
Also for some reason Sean's email just comes off to me as "Don't create bad publicity for me before this gets off the ground, as once it's up and running we will have even more control to reconfigure this town however we want it", but that also falls into the category of "too simple for this game for me to think it's what's actually going on".
Edit: something that just occurred to me, if Nathan is in on the "Prescott destiny" at this point, and it involves knowing about/surviving the storm, why does he comfort himself with the idea that he can blow up the school in Episode 1? I mean, yes, technically he could blow it up and suffer no repercussions before the storm, but blowing something up is what you do when you want people to remember you did it. Why do it when you know there's not going to be many people around to remember it? I'm probably reading far too much into an angry, scared, delusional guy's rant, though.

This is the best theory so far I've seen. Thank you for your research. It all totally makes sense. The Prescott's are trouble. Who will buy that new houses when no one have money at all? It can be done only by forcing them to. I'm sure. after storm all Arcadia Bay residents will be under Prescott's control.
Another theory I've read was about Jefferson and Prescott's working together for piace in the world. As for me, they absolutely are working together, no doubt, but only for their own advantage.

Interesting. I too suspects there's more to pan estates than is immediately apparent. At first, I figured that the "pan" part of pan estates referred to the prefix pan (as in "of everything", PANdemic, for example), but I just discovered something that lends some credence to your theory.
You see, there's a painting by a guy named Nicolas Poussin called "Et in Arcadia Ego" and it depicts a pastoral scene with SHEPHERDS clustered around a TOMB. Maybe there is something there.
+zazanza Yeah! That's the painting I saw, too. Pan is strongly linked with shepherds, so the concept of the Prescotts trying to herd people into the estates doesn't seem too far fetched to me.

Nathan's father talk about "our destiny" to Nathan in relation to Pan Estates. I'm thinking they either want to make sure that those they deem "worthy" survive the storm or that those that stand in their way perish. In either case (provided they succeed) they'd be free to remake Arcadia Bay in their image.
I'm not sure about how creepy, black-and-white photos of drugged out, teenage girls help them, however...
+zazanza I'm wondering now if all the good things the Prescotts have done in the past was built up for some bigger scheme. If Sean Prescott is suppose to be the Greek god Pan who is going to lead the sheep it would fit with the contrast theme the game has got. The whole shepherd image looks pretty innocent but Pan's image has also been used to represent evil. On a side note, value gaming made a video on names that went into the meaning behind Nathan Prescott's name. I don't think they thought that much into his name but when he points out what the names mean and how it could be interpreted it freaked me out a little. It certainly fits with whats happening in the story.
