It’s funny how people carry on about Crowley, and he is a howl, but as an angel, Aziraphale’s character is played to perfection in his conflicts over holding himself back from getting to far from god. It seems the angels in sterile heaven are as far from god as you can get. Their relationship is extremely complex because they don’t really understand humans and they don’t really understand themselves. It’s fascinating. I can’t wait for season 3. I believe Crowley made the correct decision and Aziraphale is being naïve.
@@ginniserena I think both David and Michael did an equally brilliant job portraying their characters. I usually don't believe in the idea of perfect casting, but this is the one exception. I really can't think of any other duo who'd make these characters more iconic.)) As for the Angel's decision.. yes, as much as it pains me to admit it, it's perfectly in character. He's always believed the heaven system is nearly flawless (as he's been told), even if he didn't agree with some.. practices. Reminds me a little of what Ballister said in Netflix's Nimona: "the institute's not the problem, the director is". He thinks one good person in the right position can fix everything, not seeing that the entire system is rotten, soulless. Unlike Crowley, he never had the chance to "step back" and observe from the safe distance to see all the flaws. He's still so heartbreakingly hopeful he doesn't bloody see how futile his efforts are.) But hey, what if they aren't? Everything starts small. Maybe he'll be the spark to ignite the fire of change. And even if it proves to be pointless and everything goes pear-shaped, we all know a certain demon will turn heaven and hell upside down to keep his angel safe. :)

But even without putting too much attention we know it's not an easy role to play. Both David and Michael played their respective roles brilliantly so it seemed natural for them. But it is not.

It changes to the "I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me" section just as Nina asks about Aziraphale's "naked man friend."
You'd have to post every single scene he's in lol. Also pleeeeeeeeeeeease pay your writers and actors and give us season 3. We need it for mental health reasons.
The poison was Laudanum, which is essentially a highly-concentrated alcohol/opium mixture that is enough to kill someone outright if they drink it. However, angels and demons apparently have a higher tolerance, so instead of discorporating him, it just made him EXTREMELY drunk and high.
He miracled the car to do that. That's how Aziraphale immediately recognized the "magic" jukebox was created by an angel or demon, since it's a very similar miracle to Crowley's.

It's a joke from the book, that if you left a cassette (or today a CD) long enough in a vehicle, it will turn to queen (in the book, Azi wants to play music and pops in Vivaldi and Crowley mentions, it's been in the car at last 3 weeks, so it ends up to be queen) It's based on the RL joke between Neil and Terry, that every British car has at least one cassette with queen in the car on the time they were writing the book 😋
I love the fact that they know each other inside out, to the point where Aziraphales tone of voice tells Crowley what he wants, and that Aziraphale had never tasted human food before Crowley tempted him with the Ox rib, and forever afterwards he loves Crepes, Sushi and all the tasty things in human life.
Fantastic acting from David and Michael. Only they can make us love and empathize with a *demon* and feel disappointed on an *angel*. NEED SEASON 3 ASAP.
I personally believe they’re still married and just in a really awful fight but would go rushing back to each other so quickly if they actually talked or if one of them was in danger
David and Michael are both absolutely amazing actors and are both able to convincingly convey a wide range of different emotions. But David Tennant's acting in the final scene with Aziraphale is absolutely outstanding!! I have never, ever watched such a painfully emotional scene in any film so far: Crowley's voice almost breaking during his confession to Aziraphale, then angry at Aziraphale's inability to see the flaw in Metatron's offer, then almost pleading ("Tell me, you said 'No' "!!), then heartbroken, but trying to control his emotions again, then the next outburst "We could have been US!!"..... David Tennant leads us through such an intensity of emotions as I have never seen any actor do before! This is the art of acting at its heighest level! Can't wait for season 3!!!

Crowley can't be seen doing good but he just can't help himself when it comes to his angel, even when he knows he'll suffer for it. He protests the flood, he saves Job's children, he drinks the laudanum, he walks on the consecrated ground that burns his feet. Aziraphale is the angel but Crowley is the most moral character in the story, IMO.

Confession time. I KNEW of David Tennant of course for many years but somehow he fell under my radar. Then I watched Good Omens season 1 and suddenly I was exposed to (among other things) the sheer brilliance that is David Tennant and now I'm wondering how I could have existed without him in my life 😂❤ His portrayal of Crowley should be taught in drama schools. It goes without saying that the entire work writing cast costumes music EVERYTHING is just as brilliant. With Good Omens, we have pretty much hit the jackpot of tv series.

Throw in the fact that Gaiman’s not adhering strictly to the Pseudo-Dionysian hierarchy (there are lots of different ones out there), and I don’t think it’s clear where he ranked. Though I have suspicions about who we was. 😎
