They say Capablanca was the most naturally gifted chess champion because he did not study chess books and didn’t have a lot of theory but only played moves that made “sense to him” and when you go through his games you see that clearly, I love replaying his games the most.
@@R-L-I That's what I know from my hometown hero, Capa. I love Chess, grew up playing it, but I wish I could play half as well as Capa was playing at 11 yrs old with Juan Corzo in Cuba. I believe Capa lost the first 2 games, then the genius maneuvered and that was the end of losing. Carsen said that Capa was better than Fisher and a guy from FIDE on RUclips, said he had the greatest natural talent among the greatest players. 100 yrs. from now, his name will be heard, just like on Queens Gambit Series on Netflix or the movie Searching for Bobby Fisher, that is greatness. Bye
@@Tech-vn1jvMy old computer tought 5:22 minutes Capablanca-Reti game move and solved! Same computer tought only 4:37 minutes Kasparov-Kramink game move and solved! Same computer tought only 1:55 minutes Fischer vs Benko game move and solved! Computers telling the truth Capablanca much better than Fischer!!
Thanks again for showing us one more great game from the genius borned in my hometown, Havana, Cuba. A guy from FIDE said that Capa had the greatest natural talent among all chess great players. Adios
Thank you for this game! Many wise people have commented on Capablanca's "simple" chess play but no one said in any better or more concisely than you. Capa's chess games should come with a public service announcement: "This is a professional, do not attempt this style of play at home!" Beautiful, simply beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, nice logical commentary on a logical game played with basic chess principles. When you read Capa's own comments in his books he does seem to concentrate on these same basic principles.
thank you so much for presenting very instructive games and explaining them beautifully…may i ask to show the evaluation bar and explain where the opponents went wrong? i can’t figure out what mistakes the opponents made that lead to their defeat
that's a nice tactic, proud of myself that i found it.. Capablanca's games are always so interesting because, unlike some players, his moves are almost always crystal clear in what he's trying to achieve. Rarely does he give his opponents a chance to make a mistake, and sometimes it's not even obvious if they've made a mistake at all. I always thought Capablanca was a better player than Alekhine but, people will say 'Well, Alekhine beat him to win the championship.' To that I would say, beating someone in a match doesn't necessarily mean you're a better player per se. I mean, Dr. Max Euwe beat Alekhine and very few people today seem to argue that Euwe is a better player than Alekhine. Have you ever seen the young Bobby Fischer's game against Dr. Max Euwe? Could be an interesting game to look through, to look at how much Bobby really did improve over the years. thanks John for all the wonderful analysis and work you do here on youtube on behalf of the chess community.
Great game Casablanca always a joy to watch how he exploits his opponents weaknesses by outmaneuvering the way he does the Rook deflection at the end was quite a gift Thanks for the Game
Mr. Dawg another idea for a video: can you illustrate all the different terms you use (sharp, tactics, etc) in an entry showcasing scenarios with the differing styles? This would help others follow along better, I think. You’re an outstanding teacher. Carry on sir!
In an endgame where white is going to win a pawn, I wold be trying to keep that bishop as long as possible. The greater mobility would be a real asset in an endgame with lots of space to move, especially if you are down in material.
I never understood why there are so many avid Capablanca fans out there, I've tried it many times, but whenever I watch one of his games there's only one thing that comes to my mind: boring. No matter how ingenious it's supposed to be, and probably it is in it's unique simplicity, but it just doesn't give me any thrills whatsoever. Such a far cry from the masterpieces of Morphy or Bobby. No matter how much he's praised, but Capablanca's style is just not for me. Reminds me a bit of Genesis, I never particularly liked their music.

Sultan Khan didn’t have much tuition or studies either!! Both naturals!

Morphy
incredible players, from a time rin fact, really different from today without all these modernity and computers
I love when you post Capablanca's games!
The way you explain and conduct the game is amazing. keep the good work.

@@PeterWhite-q1k Well said.
9:46 I saw that check, it was very logical. Amazing this Cuban master. I like to see your videos about Capa.

This is my FAVORITE chess youtube channel. your voice is golden and you describe the game so elegantly. love the simplicity. big fan.
May you eventually feature all Capablanca games. Thank you Chess Dawg!

This is one of the games, where you are not sure, where the opponent went wrong.

There are two players BF (Before Fischer) that eclipse all others: Capablanca, and Morphy. Their games are immortal
They're the three best players born in the Western Hemisphere.

My fav player of all time with Tal.
Very enjoyable thanks 💪
That was a good one!! 😎😎
Jose Raul Capablanca is the Larry Bird of Chess.
beautiful!
That's a big true about Capa.
This is a classic mortgage crisis where you put your ponzi rook next to mine and make my cheque for a proper queen!
Love it
I enjoyed very very....❤
5:44 what about Nf6+, and then taking pawn on h5
After Qxa5 from white, black could have taken de white rook on c1?
White just plays Kd2 and black has to take the queen, then white captures the rook at c1 so no material is lost.
I want to see your game bro..please😅😅
👍
The "Allies" stood no chance against Capa!
GG
