My sister once fell asleep at a concert. Another time, she fell asleep at an auto auction. We were in a small garage that echoed. The auctioneers were LOUD and everyone packed in was also loud, trying to talk over the auctioneers. The whole family was shocked at how quickly she fell asleep. 😂
Snoring is the hardest to ignore because it starts and stops. Noise most people's brains can say "ok, that's irrelevant, ignoring." But snoring keeps alerting your brain with "what's that?" over and over again.
In distaine, one of my old boyfriends accused me of being able to sleep whilst a nuclear bomb went off next to me. Guess I wasn't "available" to his needs all through every night. 😅
I remembered that when i was a child i slept through a horrible thunderstorm,i woke up the next day and my mom said she thought the world was ending with that thunderstorm,i slept peacefully and didn't wake up to anything
I sometimes sleep though power outages

My sister breaking her collarbone. We shared a room at the time, and she had rollen out of bed. I woke up later that day to her having her arm in a sling.
Back in high school we did a graduation trip to Spain (I'm from Germany) and because our teachers were really chill about it, we basically got drunk every day. I fell asleep in Lloret de mar. Right next to the beach and a busy street. In the blistering sun. When I woke up I realized I slept on a piece of candy that sticked to my back for the rest of the trip. Good times.
Now, 7 years later, I wake up everytime when my dad walkes into my room and starts talking to me...
One time I woke up briefly to the sound of what I thought was thunder. I rolled over and went back to sleep. I was maybe awake for like a minute. ...turns out the shopping center on the other side of town had EXPLODED. Someone left the gas on.
Oh, gosh. Was anybody hurt or killed? Also, how did you here it from the opposite side of your town??
My husband slept through a rocket attack when he was in Khandhar, Afghanistan. This was one of the few that landed in the camp and caused damage
I fell asleep while my dad was blasting the Blue Man Group's Concert DVD, in the same room.
Bonus: My whole family slept through a police unit chasing a criminal around our duplex, didn't even know it had happened until I was older and heard my parents laughing about it.
My neighbor’s house caught on fire a few years ago. The fire department had to set up in our driveway to deal with it. I guess something about water sources. I slept through it. My brother woke up somehow. He’s deaf. Probably a coincidence then but still. I also slept through a rooster crowing right outside my window at like 3 AM.
We had our roof redone last year. I woke up at the beginning, and then the rhythmic thudding of a dozen or so boots above my head lulled me back to sleep
I'm such a heavy sleeper my husband says I don't sleep, I die and come back to life in the morning. I don't have any memorable events like these stories though. I do have memories of saying glad I slept through that
I once had a friend sleep over at mine. In the middle of the night he woke up screaming from a really bad nightmare. He left the room to get my mum and they had a decently long conversation in the room I was sleeping in with the lights on. They packed away his things, and left so she could take him home. She then came back into the room to pack away the mattress he slept on. I didn't even stir the entire time, and was pretty confused when I woke up in the morning to find my friend gone.
According to my mother. When I was a toddler I would often sleep with her at night. When she was pregnant with my younger sister, apparently my sister would often kick and apparently (probably due to how I slept on my mother at the time) it would knock me down and onto the floor. At that time she was still living with my grandparents and apparently, when my grandfather got up to go get ready for work. He would often check on us downstairs in the basement and would find me on the floor still sound asleep. He would then pick me up and take me upstairs to his and my grandmother's bedroom. Tldr: unborn sister would often kick me off my mother while I was asleep. Grandfather would find me on the floor still asleep
When I was younger, I somehow slept through my brother, piss-ass drunk, full-ass naked, falling off the stairs.
Same with my other older brother sleeping through falling entire cupboard all over the kitchen.
My dad, when he was young, slept through a car crashing hard into the house. My uncle and grandparents woke up, of course. Emergency services came, yet my dad slept through it. He wondered what happened when he came down in the morning. Nowadays, he also sleeps through heavy thunder and all those things.
Literally, my Dad is such a heavy Sleeper that he once slept through an Earthquake
Never me but my sister. She once slept through a fire alarm with the alarm 3 ft from her head on a top bunk at summer camp. She also rolled off a top bunk and hit her arm on the bottom bunk which was wider. She broke her arm and didn't get up until mom woke her. She woke up and, holding her VISABLY broken arm, said, " Mommy, my arm hurts."
My neighboor had a medical emergency, so they had to get into her apartment. So police show up with a ram to break down the doors. These doors were steel enforced, fireproof security doors, so it took a good half hour to get in. All this noise were done in the very acoustic stairwell, right next to the bedroom wall that I was lying against.
I was told this the next morning, after a long, restfull sleep. Everyone living of that stairwell had been peeking out that night, exept me and the deaf guy dowstairs.
The neighbor was fine. There had never been any grave danger, which is why they did not call out a firetruck and break through a window.
Not only did I sleep through someone breaking into my house, but I also slept through the cops breaking down the door to bust the guy, but to be fair, I had just gotten home from a four-day straight road trip to drop my bother off at collage with little sleep and a whole bunch of caffeine
My brain finally outsmarted the SONIC BOOM alarm clock too...!
7:37 I can vouch for this 😂 I slept through someone breaking in my Pop fighting and yelling out for me to help, Police and Ambulance came our neighbour had called them, then my other neighbour checked in on my Pop and Nan and I woke up just as the Police arrived and the guy in cuffs already
Oh! I have one! We were living in a really crappy part of town. My landlord called one morning. Asking if we were doing ok after the previous nights activities. We were. But now I’m curious. I asked what we missed. She proceeded to tell me the story of the swat team kicking in my next door neighbour’s door, down the hall… full drug bust. Myself, my husband and 2 toddlers didn’t hear a blessed thing.
My year 7 Japanese teacher said that he once slept through an earthquake while visiting Japan. Apparently when he woke up, all the furniture in his hotel room was shifted around and one of the hotel staff was knocking on the door, trying to see if he was ok.
Its not that i can magically sleep through anything, its that i work nights and can be god damn stubborn about not opening my eyes or acknowledging whats going on.

Someone tried breaking into my family's apartment, my family except for my mom and sister are heavy sleepers, my mom heard someone wrenching on our sliding door, and she was yelling pretty loudly, no one woke up
I fell asleep while taking a bath, a tornado hit, I came to in cold bath water, and 2 animals in the tub with me. I also had a new fence (part of one anyway) and a new dog house in my backyard.
I struggle to actually get up.
For what ever reason the few minutes I'm laying in bed fighting the urge to pass back out are absolutely bliss. No thoughts. ..
I solved my issue with this and employment by just going to bed right after work so I have 12+ hours until my next shift
I once slept through a 45 minute mortar firework show when I was like 4.
Fell asleep one Friday evening and woke up on Sunday. I slept through and entire calendar day. Not a heavy sleeper now, but that was an unhealthy time of my life.
Not a loud noise, and definitely not as extreme as some of these, but the cork pin board hanging over my bed has fallen right onto me and I slept through it
I was in the Navy, on an Aircraft Carrier. My rack was about 18 inches below the Three Wire. That's the Wire you want to catch when landing on an Aircraft Carrier. We (the ship) were launching and recovering aircraft around the clock in 1987. I can sleep through ANYTHING.
I once kept sleeping while an ambulance came to my house and my mom was being either resiscutated or was injected with some painkiller fluid (can't remember which it was) in the same room, I only found out when I woke up and they already left.
Hairball cough will wake me up. Ive also heard it over volumes i probably shouldn't have been able to.
In college, I decided to lay down for an hour nap. Left my lights on and set the alarm, then I lay down.
I wake up the next morning...angry that my alarm seemingly didn't go off to wake me up. Then I step outside and, much to my surprise, find some angry obscenities written on my door's dry erase board. Soon after, I run into my CA who asks, to my confusion, if I'm alright.
Turns out the previous night my alarm had indeed gone off...and continued to go off, annoying all my dorm mates, for over a half hour while I slept on. People had angrily pounded on the door and yelled at me to no avail. Eventually, they got the CA to unlock the door to turn off the alarm.
At that point, the CA tried shouting and shaking me to wake me up, but it did no good. Nothing could awaken me. Finally, they had to just let me sleep until I woke up naturally.
A herd of cows outside of my window. Lived on a hobby farm without livestock, my grandparents rented the fields around our house. Neighbors a few miles down the road raised cattle and one evening, the fence got broken (I think it was one of the cows but I cant remember for sure). Somehow a small group of their cows ended up at our place and were rounded up right outside of my window. I woke up that morning to my older sister telling me what happened. I thought it was a weird joke…until my mom, dad, older brother, and younger sister confirmed it.
Also slept through a fireworks show out on a boat. We were on a lake for Fourth of July. I think they were setting the fireworks off about 2 football field lengths away if I’m remembering right. I was exhausted from the day and fell asleep before it started. Woke up during the finally, looked up at the fireworks for a bit, then went back to sleep. I think I only half woke up when we got back to the cabin and passed out after changing into PJs.
…and yet, I’ll wake up to the slightest sound of my dog possibly puking
I slept through falling out of hideaway bunk bed in a camper and land on the gap between the two pulled out sofa beds below the hideaway bed. My mid back and thighs hit the hard plastic supports and left bruises, I am surprised I don’t have any back problems from the incident. To get context the camper was late 70s early 80s prowler if you need a layout and the fall was between 4-5 feet.
And then years later in the same camper a massacre of chickens were killed by coyotes less than six feet from the camper and I slept right through it.
And in both instances I am a light sleeper and surprised I slept through both.
Current roomate. I accidentally knocked over my knife, spoon and fork. Iron clanging and hitting each other and she was just sleeping. Meanwhile me who wakes up on movements, sounds, lights and literally anything.
Years ago my parents said the kettle blew up whilst I was asleep and the loud bang didn’t even wake me up fortunately there was no fire just the explosion
I slept through the spaces launch here in Brownsville Texas. Apparently it shook the house like an earthquake and we don't get earthquakes

Drove to the beach one night and the cheapest hotel I could find opened at 8 or something so had to pull an all nighter to book a room I was high af and tired. I get in my room and all day and all through the night sounded like someone stomp running 15mph back and forth in the room above me lol
A guy I was acquainted with long ago had a railroad border his back yard. He awoke to see an overturned rail car and a lot of coal on his lawn.
He could attest that he could sleep through a train wreck. (An American expression, if not elsewhere)
I remember back in 2008 in the UK we had a mini earthquake hit us while I was asleep.😮
Not me, but my brother slept through Hurricane Rita... as my sister's room was smashed by a falling tree, my mom got pinned against the wall by said tree, my 4-year-old self and sisters screaming as my grandpa went to rescue my mom by lifting the tree with the power of adrenaline. I don't know how he slept through it, but he did.
Is your mom okay? I can't imagine having to witness that. I'm so sorry.
I slept thru my alarm
I don't know if this counts, but I was sleeping like any other night, and suddenly i'm woken up while in a closet, there was a tornado alarm, didn't hit us, but I was just tried and confused (for the record, my mom had been shaking me for like two whole hours before I woke up). Another one is when I was younger, I woke up, saw a bit of red, and forgot about it the next second after pondering for a bit, then whenever recess came around and I was playing like normal, another kid suddenly came up, "Hey." So I was confused and just said, "Hey?" Then she asked me if my leg was ok, so I looking down at both, they looked fine? She then said, "No the back." So I looked, nothing was there, "No the other leg." So I did, my leg had been bleeding with a cut down the entirety of my calf till afternoon. I didn't feel anything, until after I saw it, and then a bit after that. Edit: It wasn't bleeding that much, and not very deep of a cut, I have three cats, Pat the Cat, Davin (It's like saying Dave, and then in), and then Curly, One of them, did that.
What is that game in the background? I wanna try it.
My fiancée slept through an EF-3 tornado. We got lucky it didn’t hit my apartment, but it was LOUD!!!!

It was 6:00 PM and I slept for 4 hours
I have since switched my phone to the 24 hour clock format to avoid said confusion
Also stayed up for 24 hours once because of a graduation celebration at a theme park
Work up at 7 for no reason the day of didn’t go to sleep again until after 7 the next day after getting back I was tired for practically the entirety of the following school week
I worked part-time in the morning, in the afternoon I come home and take a nap because I was pregnant and tired. Didn't wake up for a high-speed chase that went around my block 5 times with 4 police cars sirens blaring chasing my brother who was drunk driving
Back in the day, when fathers weren't allowed in the birthing room, my Dad slept through my Birth in the waiting area. He could sleep anywhere, any time!
I kick and punch in my sleep. My wall has holes and a bone in my left foot broke. Did not go to the doctor's for 7 months thinking the pain would go away. Had a walking boot on for a month and the muscles in my foot are pushing the broken piece of the bone into place.

This one time a few months ago, the smoke alarm turned on
The sound went into my dream instead of waking me up
So my dream went from something about a place to me turning a random alarm off in my brother's room
By the time I actually woke up it was fixed
Also a few years ago, my mom locked her car keys inside a car and a bunch of firemen had to get the door open with a wedge
When they got it open the alarm went off
My brother was sleeping at the time and he didn't wake up until like 30 minutes later...
IT WAS RIGHT NEXT TO HIS WINDOW TOO
Noise doesn't affect my sleeping but the smallest vibration wakes me up the big 2023 earthquake in turkey woke me up i live 100s of kilometers from the epicenter.
We live on a hill, as do our neighbors. Our driveways cut through the middle between our houses, making a U shaped dip. I slept through some idiot driver going up the neighbor's hill, getting some air to go across both driveways (Neighbor's end of the driveway had a retaining wall for the dirt at the time, and the driver took out part of it), went up OUR part of the hill into the front yard (About a 60 to 70 degree incline I'd estimate, and at an awkward angle just due to the left part of their car being lower on said hill because of the angle they were taking it from via the driveway), and hit the tree in our front yard which is right outside my window. Bonus, I even slept through the cops pounding on our door to see if anyone was home and the tow truck having to get their car off of our tree and out of our front lawn - and they had to go up the even steeper part of the hill to even have a shot at it.
Found what remained of their cell phone landed about in our other neighbor's yard after the fact, so they still had some good speed even after climbing two steep hills and getting some airtime.
