I have been sewing for over 50 years and hadn’t heard that there was a pretty specific rule for placement of and size of buttons and buttonholes, particularly the top one. I have always preferred a bustling one and intuitively knew that the bottom one should be a bit farther from the hem than what is the between button length. Also I hadn’t known that the placket determines button size or vice versa. But it all makes sense. I have been watching your videos and you explain details exceptionally well. Thanks so much for your hard work. Looking forward to making the Jenny t-shirt. No buttons, but I have been looking for a better-fitting t-shirt.
