Thanks Roger, that was very interesting. I have a failing Onc Sharry Baby that I will now try on a mount. I’ll let you know how it goes at the end of summer. Sub tropical, lots of wet weather at the moment. I’ll leave them out in the rain. Still enjoying your words of wisdom.😊🤞🌲Seasons Greetings to the Motherland.
I had a Miltonia Spectablis var Moreliana ....and yes, scrambling madly to escape the pot and take off to a new country! I can't do mounts in my home, I cut the sides of the pots, packed in more media, but could not keep up to the growth so I gave it away to a friend at the university's agric. dept where it is now mounted, sprayed and looks like an aging hippy with the long white hair (roots) hanging down. 😁
Mounted Miltonias need a lot of water (a lot !) You could use the two windows facing the brick wall, good light from above and in front and no sun and heat from behind
I don't know what price or availability is over there, but maybe look into tree fern fiber for struggling orchids. I have no intention of using it on a day to day basis because it is 4X the price of bark here, but it has been helpful for plants on the struggle bus to establish a root system. A 1 gallon (3.75 liters) bag cost me $32 (~£25.50) but it has been enough to do several small pots and I still have more.
Hiya Roger, Sorry I can't sit through this video right now. I'll come back and watch it when I'm not so distracted...and catch up on the others I've recently missed. BTW, I heard on another youtubers channel that the algorithm really likes when your audience comments are at least 7 words. Is this true? Edit to add that I've liked it and will let it play through anyhow. ;)
As always, thank you Roger.❤
You're welcome.
Hi Roger, I hope the plants pull on for you! I’m looking forward to the day lengths starting to increase again. Won’t be long now
Winters are cold damp and dreary here but knowing Spring is not too far away helps put up with it.
Thanks so much Roger.
You're welcome.
Thank you for the great information.

Now a species in it's own right. (It can't be an ageing hippy - they're all in Ibiza)
Great information
Thanks.

I'll work something out - but that's a 'next year' problem.

It is available - mainly for reptile bedding.
The purple flowered one looks like a Honolulu. Not sure if it is a hybrid or species
Could be? (Honolulu is a hybrid but mainly spectabilis).

RUclips rewards 'interaction' so any comment is important. I've not heard anything about the number of words though.
one in bloom could be Miltonia Honolulu but hard to tell 100%
Several have suggested that one - but always hard to really 'confirm' especially when images are variable.
😁
