Wow. Richard Hill you are amazing. Thank you for reinforcing what I already know as a student of psychotherapy and gifting me with what I have yet to learn. I'm writing a final essay in Theories of Counselling at JNI and you shall be cited! Except you didn't talk about Gestalt!
The last sentence of the presentation is the answer we all need to have Richard. In many ways I believe that a person who is not genuinely (innately?) empathic and who does not have a natural ability to be engaging with other people to develop immediate rapport; can probably never be as good at psycho (what ever suffix name) therapy, as a person who is a naturally empathic person. All people can only learn so much in the way of behavioral/emotional congruence with a client Thanks AIPC for the new concept..
What is it about a counselling or psychotherapy process that makes people change? In other words: what are the mechanisms of therapy? What does the paradigm supporting a given school of psychology assume about the nature of human beings and therefore how they can change? What are the main concepts of a given psychology and who were their famous proponents? With what kinds of client issues does a given psychology naturally sit well? In this video, Richard Hill attempts to answer these questions by briefly exploring and comparing chief counselling modalities: ruclips.net/video/77Gmn7rEj9I/видео.html
Very engaging delivery and succinct summations thanks. Also, I want to know how you get that amazing effect of light waves emanating out from the speaker and flowing back to the speaker, so that it moves with his movements? It looks like heat but in white frequency waves. I like it.
_actually of course, the most effective therapy is_ hypnotherapy _if you are spiritual, you would probably enjoy reading the pamphlet (written by Jesus no less)_ -- Psychotherapy, Practice & Purpose _The lecturer makes me think about Dabrowsky, his theory of developmental potential; he is "super-abundant". The mainstream would say he has ADHD! In other words, the teacher has heightened responses, and has learned to channel them._ He has become self-actualized.
Thank you AIPC for the videos, much appreciated,.!
