I am a first year CSE student at NIT Rourkela. There are super strict attendence rules. Previously the coding culture was not upto the mark. In last year, our coding culture has improved greatly. Specially, the first year students are super enthusiastic about competitive programming. There are many achievements in competitive programming journey in our college. There are many 3 and 4 star coders in first year. All thanks to covid and online classes where we can skip the classes of first year and focus on improving our coding skills. Google does come to our campus. I saw 5 students getting recruited by google and they recruit from all branches. This video seemed quite pessimistic. Situation in the college is way better than said in this video.
hello Ayush is the part about sharing rooms still true because I saw on website and all the halls for males had been marked with SINGLE SEATER does that mean anything else or is it single rooms for first years (it is quite important please answer if you can :) )

It seems the jury needs to do a bit more research about sports ..there ample opportunities for sports inter nit different team has won laurels at national ..with team like cricket winning amongst 28 nits football next year ... I hope you all look into lot of aspects vwhen covering s video or maybe jury from different Backgrounds from a college.this boy does not seem to know much about sports

@@rohit3265 civil being a core branch, has its own charm. But with respect to placements, there are very limited number of public sector companies like LNT visiting our campus. But, if you want an IT job, you won't be able to sit for most of the high paying software companies. But TCS, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE etc. will allow all branches. This is the scenario in civil branch not only in NITR, but also in a number of other top colleges in India.

@@rohit3265 as of environment, there is nothing like that. Students may be preparing all by themselves using online or other resources without letting their peers know about their preparation. Kind of selfish. There aren't any renouned coaching institutes for ese preparation in Rourkela. But you can always get old study material or online courses to prepare on your own. In civil you will get enough time for self preparation for these exams given that you don't join any stupid college clubs in the campus and waste your time there. Every year there are around 15-20 students from civil, metallurgy, mechanical etc. who crack prestigious exams like gate, ese, GMAT, CAT etc.
