    Thank you!! Other channels so rarely go into detail about their nutrient solutions. That whole process holds so much educational potential.

    I really enjoy your videos. Very clever and classy family... God Bless. Thanks for explaining the system and sharing tips a tricks! I’m going to order the timer you recommended in last video. My current digital timer can only program minutes, not seconds. A company recommended 2 min every hour watering with exact same bucket and emitters. But after 50-80 seconds into 2 minutes I can hear the water/nutrients drain out of the buckets. My system is small 14 bucket recirculating (inside spare room in my house. Lol) so I guess extra isn’t really a waste. But I like the idea of dialing in the correct time easily, instead of pushing a thousand buttons on digital timer just to get wrong timing anyway. Thanks again.

      The timers work great. we were told the same when we first started but your right it's to long so we switched. Not sure what to do with the old timers. If you come up with a good idea let us know

    I just started all my tomatoes yesterday.
    Way too many cherry tomatoes but my grandkiddos love them like candy. Lol
    Especially the yellow ones. I have 2 yellow cherry for them Barry's crazy cherry and yellow jelly bean.
    Plus an orange pear shape.
    I might try a kratky bucket with 1 cherry tomato in it.
    I could see your cucumbers in the background too. Its supposed to be warm this weekend I might start clearing and cleaning my buckets to get ready for spring lol.
    Another nice video thank you.

    There’s just so much information in this particular video, thank you for sharing this, I have a few questions perhaps you could post in a follow up video. What is your watering schedule like? Also what happens to the waste and how does it work? Thanks again, cheers from Miami FL.

    great step by step explanation on the plant nutrient setup . The automated watering and nutrient system looks like it will give you back hours per week , always welcome on a small busy farm !!!! Equipment Investments are never easy for farmers to make . This one looks like a great tool for the new larger bato bucket food production. Guess you will need more canning jars soon enough :) Can you get 2 start to finish harvests per year with the bato system or just one ? Is it the sun light and O2, combined that creates the algae on the pyrolite ? It is a joy to see and hear, your team work , and appreciation for each others contributions . Growing is got easy but very learnable. Your many videos are demonstrating this . I like that you share some of the oops that is part of food production , plus what you learned to watch out for with the next plant set. That t shirt is a very good likeness of your farm helper . Congrats on the healthy new member in the barn yard.

      I think the algae on the perlite is just a result of nutrients and light. When we cover them, it will go away. Thanks as aways for your comments. Cian is a great dog maybe the best one we have ever had.

    Hello, I am watching you from Turkey. Thank you for sharing all the details with us. May I have a few questions?
    1- Why 2 pieces of (B) Boron in microelements? Are they different from each other?
    2- What do you use as a pH reducer? Nitric acid or something else? I was curious.
    I would be very happy if you answer.

      Not sure o the Boron... Sulfuric acid for PH

    Love this channel! Love that you use cropking components and fert too! My question is can I use the same hydro-fert for both my toms and cucumbers?? Do they have similar NPK/CaMg demands?

    I have grown tomatoes in Bato Buckets in a setup just like yours. I get them also from CropKing. But not this year. I done cleaning algae out of them, and I know the algae was not good for the tomatoes. Enough light gets through the buckets to grow algae. I know you have that problem also as I watched your video on cleaning out the buckets. This year, I have bought black. I will tape that silver foil bubble wrap around them to keep them from getting hot in the sun, and I am going with the black feed tubes, not the white I get from CropKing. I cut one of the tubes, 1/8" open to see if it grew algae in it and sure enough, it was there. I am also getting rid of my white PVC. Yes, algae is in it. I purchased the grey, that I will spray paint white to keep cool. I am done with algae. It affects the plants.

      Sounds like you have a good plan. Please keep me updated on how it works out. Algae is the worst!

      They don't fall out of suspension once they are mixed up.

      @@HomegrownPassion So when you say that it does fall out of suspension does that mean it’s dissolved or there is something that continues to mix it? Sorry just curious 🧐

    Since you guys are doing drain to waste, with very little discharge, have you seen any tip burn or salt toxicity?
    I know typically with drain to waste, you want a certain amount of runoff to wash some of the salts out and to prevent buildup.

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад

      No we have not...we do flush the bato buckets every two weeks with water and a little hypogrow...so we think that helps with any problems

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  4 месяца назад

      Any acid will do. I use battery acid. I can get it very inexpensive in 5-gallon box and it lasts me over 6 months. Be careful.... just a couple of drops effects the PH

    Those plants look healthy 💚 but I have no idea about any technical content you presented, whether nutrient or machine related...
    I get that this is for those in a similar business, but if you give a brief explanation on each thing, more people (me included) might be able to understand a bit of what's going on 😅

      Example: 1:20 calcium is important for bone density and this 4:51 machine breaks down accumulation and unwanted residuals in the mix (I'm making this up 😜)

    Great video guys, maybe just a suggestion from a 20 year plumber, to put a fresh water bypass around the dosatrons, unless you have and I just didn’t see it. So that way when you are cleaning the dosatrons, the plants can still get water. Take care and good video
