Thanks for such a detailed video this is the best pully removal and installation I have seen. You guys are pros and I appreciate the knowledge
Is the problem with the internal threads common and if I encounter it, what size is the stud used to push the pulley back on? Thanks
This was the most informative view that I’ve seen
I'm thinking there should be some info on aligning the pulleys. I actually paid a shop to change my pump and they didn't press the pulley on far enough and my belt has been chirping ever since.
+Eric Janzen We currently do not have an auto repair video that covers this particular repair. We will keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com
Please do
If I follow the instructions I will not be able to lineup the other pulleys, and that is very important information you should include in your video.
Any videos on how to remove the pump? Mine is bad on my 98 Sierra
I have got the exact same harbor freight pulley puller and I came here because it does want to go on and I was wondering if I was using the tool wrong... I did not get the information I needed
Mine wont come off and broke with the regular tool and wont budge with a 3 point, needs to come off now, any ideas
Help! My power steering is making noise. Why would you replace the pulley????? Isn't it the pump that goes bad? I am confused and don't want to fire "The Parts Cannon" at my truck. So why, why, why would you replace the pulley???
+Ben Kanobe Thanks for watching! The main reason to replace the pulley is when the bearing wears out causing it to wobble, and in turn create a lot of belt squeal. 1aauto.com
Thanks guys
Best instructional video as always
look like you relocated the ac compressor but didn't show that in the video.
What i had to do to the tool that installs the pully is cut some of the stud off (3/16) and it works like a charm
Can you tell me what the part is that is at the end of the steering rod? Looks like a pump. I'm leaking fluid from the bottom of that part. What do I need to replace? Is there a gasket that wears out that I can replace?
@1a auto parts any chance you can make a video on power steering pump replacement for a 2007-14 suburban?
+Ron Xx We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1AAuto.com
My 92 Silverado has new water pump, tensioner pulley, idler pulley , serpentine belt and alternator but it still whistles loud when i start her up. I having a heck of a time locating this sound but i was told it could be the pump but the sound isn't the sound of power steering pump, it is more of a whistle. Could it be the steering pulley?
What did it end up being ?
I don't understand, if the pulley comes off wit the whole pump unit, why do we have to remove the pulley first?
You don’t
Can’t remove the pump on these trucks without removing the pulley. 3 Bolts directly behind the pulley that can’t be removed
Third video that doesn't address the 3/8 Allen bolt in the center of the pulley. Oh well
Mine broke the center of the pulley..can I get it out the same way..it just the ring holding in the bolt..any help..will be appreciated
+ggg's fan As long as the pully removing tool can still grab onto the pully, then it should remove the same way.
I replaced my power steering pump and have a belt squall but goes away when you turn the steering wheel back in forth .. i'm thinking i pressed the ps pulley on to far or not enough..
me too.. think i pressed it to far..
The 7.4 isn't the same. Do you have a video for the 7.4?
+Jamie Romanowicz We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task. Buy this part for your vehicle on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
At the end you didn’t touch up on anything about filling up the fluid and bleeding the air which is as important as installing that pump .
He didn't touch the fluid system, no need to bleed.
They didn't replace the pump - just the pulley
Gear wrenches would make this a few moments love gear wrenches
That little nut trick doesn't work.
Is the mic that good or is he breathing that hard? Lol
Terrible job showing how to put the pulley parts together. Didn't show at all how to put what parts where 👎👎👎
