Thanks Mark! A great video.
Honda still do cardigan design. Safe as houses.
Stylists have flair, Engineers have limitations.
I really enjoy your videos and your analyses.
The Accountant says no.
All to do with costs
Harking back to older desirable models is one thing, but the BLOATED 2.5-3.0 tonne behemoths we get, are NOT what is required on or small roads! SMALLER, LIGHTER, more economical (to BUY as well as run!) vehicles are the way forward, regardless of the powerplants! If you can't do it with electric, as well as you can with ICE, DON'T DO IT!
Dare I say this? OOoooooOOoo...DARE! DARE!
What the world needs now is a true homage to The Saint's Volvo P1800. Not a fey electric one. A Masculine Motor that runs on dead dinos.
Trust me on this. I am olde and wise beyond even my years.

Dear sir, your video was quite entertaining but lacks a bit of fundamentals…. First thing please be aware that Renault 5 was already presented on its final form; secondly and although I agree that the final shape is really upsetting when comparing to the concept we have sadly to bear in mind shapes might need to change to improve performance in accidents, to reduce production costs and so on… one easy example is the wheels, the bigger they are the hardest it is for a car to make then roll thus you need more juice or electricity to make it go… sad economics mate, just that
Fair point, thank you. I still think going with smaller wheels changes the whole look of a car, so why do it in the concept as then you are instantly disappointed when it finally arrives. (Not everyone of course, but I would wager the majority).
I couldn't agree with you more.. why spend hugh amounts of money to make a one off concept car...and then make the production car so pathetic
