HA, ha! WOW, this sled is nearly un stoppable! This kind of adventure?, the skags will outlast the engine, drivetrain and track LOL. Nice, but constant 100% handle barred and crawling along is a whole different world then riding my Firecat F7 EFI on a groomed trail, I would be clawing at 100+ mph and getting nervous!😆 Thanks for the ride! 👍
Wheelies for days! Fun watching you rip that Catalyst in some real snow. Looks rowdy. Rear Track shock lockout might be the ticket for when you're trying to keep the skis down.
Mine is the blue one like your buddy's but mine is a 154. We're finally getting our first dumper up around Tahoe so we'll be heading out soon to get some break-in miles. I'm hoping it'll handle better than my '23 Khaos 850. From what everybody has said (including you), it sounds like it will!
Weight is a huge one. This sled feels so natural to ride compared to the ascender chassis. It requires very minimal rider input to make it do what you want. I'm stoked to get more time on it.
How was yours running seen lots of bogging on other peoples vids. yours seems way better. I hope to get a used one in a couple years maybe. I dont understand how these some of these young kids can buy a brand new sleds and mod them out every year and some go to revy for like 2 months
Mine seems to be good. I have heard some issues, but I'm not sure what's going on. For some people, sledding is their life, and they work 8 months of the year straight just to ride all winter.
@ ya true. Look up 858 catalyst bighorns if you have time. I have seen that guy on online forums he’s a cat guy for sure. Its channel name is Josh. Just seems like a dud. Yours seemed to be running awesome. Honestly the first year of a new series or motor etc on cars, atvs, sleds tractors are the most likely to have there issues. So if I were to look at one it would be like the 2nd year or even new. Guess I will see at that point in time
The high idle kicks in when the engine temps are higher, increases circulation at an idle . I always let it idle down before shutting down using only happens to me after long pulls or hitting shoots multiple times.
@@jiggyquinn5635 I doubt they're pissed. They've been on Polaris since 2011 pretty much. So I doubt they're gonna be mad about 14 years riding better sleds than what Arctic Cat was putting out. 2011 M8 was great. Then the 2012 Praying mantis chassis came out and it was not better. Polaris Pro then Axys, then Matryx was the superior chassis for handling and they don't pay for motors so reliability doesn't factor in. Just doing rowdy stuff on the best chassis was what they were after. Glad Arctic Cat is catching back up after 14 years letting Polaris and then skidoo take their lunch money (market share).
@sanderheide6102 you mean just like almost every polaris when the 850 came out and same with the 9r. I used to own a 2017 doo (first year 850) and let me tell you I didn't get much riding in, that season. I'm not bashing, I respect all the brands. First year hiccups, everything will get worked out.
Man I hope these new Cats really catch on, the market desperately needs AC to be relevant! Looking good so far...

Such a dope video. Glad you went cat again.

@JasonMcMurray what're you riding this year? P85 dispenser or an 858? 😎

worried about shock prices after getting a brand new sled... priceless
Great video. Did you notice any mild bogging?
@Ryan-ou4je yes a little, my rpm was also way to high.
love the look BUT if ARCTIC CAT wants to stay relevant they need a factory TURBO asap
Great video! Is it the stock can?
@AlexanderBjornerback thank you. Yes, stock can.
Awesome video! Sounds and looks killer! What elevation are you riding in?
@brandonlafrenz7859 thank you! Around 6000'
Did u say Yanks peak? Do u ever ride Mica Mountain? How u like the 858 so far?
@ckfarmz yes I've rode Mica 3 years in a row. I have a few videos on my channel riding mica
You ever try the new Polaris 900R as well>

Hey what are you getting for gas mileage ?? LOL. Seriously How do you like the power of the 858?? Seems like it runs and sounds good.
@jimt4906 Power is great! Chassis works really well
How many miles before yours started running that good
@joshkoltes 3.5 hrs on the engine before break in is completely done
@Trevsleds you rode it 3.5 hours before this ride?
@joshkoltes , in this video was combined 2 days of riding. Everything smoothed out after 3 5hrs of engine run time
How does that track on the new 858 do, does it like to washout on the side hills like the previous Artic Cat sleds
@@ryandonley8662 way better on the new chassis!

Thing rips, I ride trail on the east coast and am picking up my 858rxc Saturday. Yours still have the annoying high idle like the 800’s do?

The high idle kicks in when the engine temps are higher, increases circulation at an idle . I always let it idle down before shutting down using only happens to me after long pulls or hitting shoots multiple times.
The high idle is to cool the engine down, it also throws in extra fuel to cool internally
Impressive, have you burned up the breakin chip in this video?
@@lewisbrazil5485 yes it's out of break in
Where do you keep the clutch tool and spark plug tool
@kilafranz I have a none ES model so I keep those tools under the seat where the battery would go.
@Trevsleds did yours come with a plug tool?
@kilafranz no they don't unfortunately
Is Rogue concepts still in business?
