      Thank you for your lovely comment! We're finding that online learning can be even more beneficial than attending expensive universities and courses which are hard to access. This is why were are currently working on a masterclass covering all aspects of fashion design, pattern drafting and sampling clothes. We'll let everyone know one we've completed it! In the meantime, good luck with your project!

    Your work is beautiful but you are using AI as if it is still version CS5. There are so many ways of working that would be so much faster and easier. For example, try CMD=F (Paste in Front) instead of CMD+V. It will paste the selection on top of where you copied it so you don't have to move it back. Also, you might try using profiles to add a more hand-drawn finish to your line quality.

      Hi Robin, Thank you for the compliment and the great tips. I've been using Ai for so many years now that I often don't review the updates. I'm a bit stuck in the past. I'll try the examples you mentioned. If you have any other tips or tricks, then please comment further! It will help both me and the community in general. Thanks again!

      Yes, sorry for the long intro! I do get a bit carried away. We are now adding chapters to our tutorials to make it easier for our viewers to find the content they need.

    I'm really stuck on the compound path section :(

    • @PatternLabLondon
      @PatternLabLondon  3 года назад +1

      Yeah this can be a bit tricky. It takes a bit of fiddling with. Just make sure your objects are "closed" and don't have any open paths. Also make sure you are only trying to compound two objects and not a collection of objects. It can be a bit tricky with more than just two. Good luck!

    How many hours in total do I need (including the activities I need to do on my end) to complete both this Digital Fashion Illustration and the Technical Drawing courses? (I'm new to, but learning, Adobe Illustrator but familiar with traditional fashion illustration)

      Hi Ysabl, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, I can't really quantify that. How long is a piece of string? The more time you spend working on it the more skilled you'll be. I've been using Adobe illustrator for over 15 years and still there are some things that i'm discovering. You can probably get the basics of illustrator in a weekend if you work at it. After that it's all just practice makes perfect.
