i have something VERY interesting to point out: back when i played outbreak online and died in this scenario, every time i would get the transformation scene when i died to the LEECHES, and afterwards i would be treated to a great surprise.... instead of turning into a regular zombie or getting the dreaded "you died" screen, i found myself playing as a LEECH MAN! i was even able to press "X" to grab and "L2" to stretch punch and interact with the vents to get to the nearest survivor! man, capcom used to be good, why can't they give gamers in general what they want? i have friends that play this that aren't even fans and they say that "they'll play outbreak over REEEEEEsistance or phasmophobia any day"!
I personally think that the AI in the outbreak games is brilliant for one simple reason; Because they make so many mistakes it makes me think that they are actually human. Think about it for a minute, You or I, experienced RE veterans, would know immediately what to do and how to progress, our minds know what's a useful item and what's an expendable item, something to keep and something to toss. They'll pitch a key and grab a first aid spray because they are more concerned with staying alive as opposed to unlocking doors. Something we'd likely never do as getting to the next section is more important than hoarding health items. These people don't know that. You or I know that sometimes running away is the best option, while fighting isn't, and vice versa. These people don't. Wasting bullets and health items is sacrilegious to our minds, but they do it simply out of fear, caution or even basic panic. What amplifies this is that certain characters like Kevin, Mark and David are prone to fighting even if it isn't in the groups best interest, while characters like Cindy, Jim or Yoko flee dangerous situations unless asked to assist in a fight by the player or even another AI companion, because they are much more timid and don't like fighting. But they'll help if they, at that moment, feel brave enough to lend a helping hand. There are no guarantees with Outbreak's AI, your not going to get fully cooperative or fully useless allies in your playthroughs, depending on who you play as, who you get lumped with or, in File 2's case, who you choose to bring in with you into a scenario. And the scenario you choose may also affect how those allies you chose or got lumped with will interact with you. Constantly help your allies, trade items with them, make sure they have weapons and healing items and what not, and they'll respect you and help you out more often in turn, so long as they don't get spooked by the current situation you find yourself in. Disregard them and only care about yourself, and they'll treat you the same way in turn, unless you beg them for help if you've been critically injured fir instance. It's not the AI that makes Outbreak a challenging experience, it's the Players actions and several constantly shifting and changing factors within each level that determines whether the AI is cooperative or combative with the player. I know this was a weird tangent to read through, but I've heard so much complaining for years about the AI in these two games that I felt like sharing a different perspective on it after playing through the two games several times over the years.
They are smart for A.I. collecting items and what nots. On easy, sometimes they'll have key items that you can get from them. They don't ways make the best choices but they can be reliable. Also Mr. X: Survivors: 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃💨💨💨

Both a remaster/remake or brand new Outbreak game has been asked for almost a decade (and nearly 2 full gen) and they keep on ignoring what the fans actually want. Crapcom would rather try to cram Resident Evil in EVERY possible oversaturated online multiplayer modes instead of sticking to what was proven successful. Hell yeah. But you know what if we didn't get one of be happy with just a port. And you know id pay extra for a physical copy with a soundtrack and useless collector faff
Fuck yeah man this was one of my favorite games of all time I never got the chance to play it online but I still loved both outbreak games they hold a special place in my heart.
“The hive” is probably saying it’s the leeches hive especially considering final boss for the scenario is a queen leech. I got stuck on this one when I played it never beat it. awesome video love the presentation!
Yeah this scenario is pretty impossible to complete since the elevator code is hidden in some chemical note that you can't figure out so you have to resort to finding the code on the internet
This is my favorite scenario in the game, however the boss at the end is kind of underwhelming, and your AI partners become stupid due to running straight up to the boss to attack it. The end result, they wind up getting poisoned and getting killed. So it is best to kill the boss as quickly as possible by shooting the steam valves on the ceiling, or the pipes on the wall.
In below freezing point something similar happened with George, he vanished with only sporadic appearances here and there, and then as the place was thawing out, and I was cornered by a hunter... coming walking into frame with a bent pipe, comes the slugger who smacks the hunter with its last bit of hp and killed it. George has been my favorite since haha
Holy shit lmao. Something similar happened to me twice with George. I was facing the boss in the level with the G Mutant and George disappeared for the whole scenario. I thought he was dead. I got to the G mutant and was about to die and George came out of nowhere and threw a mixed chemical at it and killed it. Second time was against Tyrant R when it transformed and it was about to kill me and George hit it with a broom with a battery attached and knocked it out. He was on my team throughout all scenarios
The similar thing happened with me and George in Decisions, decisions!! Good thing he came in when he did and killed the beast that attacked me because it knocked me down and I only had a mixture of 2 green herbs 🪴 🪴, and he killed it with 2 bullets and picked me up so I didn’t waste my last herb just to get up!!
You've definitely found an awesome niche in commentary. I don't think many ppl think about RE now a days, but you're making ppl rediscover their childhood.
8:12 you really missed that detail from that beginning cutscene.... didn't you? Pay attention AFTER the doctor gets attacked. Notice there is a body on the floor where he died, but appears to be someone else. In the cutscene THERE WAS NO BODY. So yes, the leaches switched hosts with the Doctor as they fell on him and left behind the drained body. Just like how if you played this specific scenario online; if you or a partner died, THEY became Leachman.
If I could choose any games in the series to get a full on remake, it would be File 1 & 2. I can't imagine how amazing they would be with the ease of internet connectivity these days and actually being able to play co op with multiple people. Then to imagine it gets the over the shoulder camera and combat treatment.
I was 13 when I first played this game. When I got to this level, the leech man scared me so bad that I locked this game away for three years before working up the courage to play the game again, starting from the bar, and working my way through. 😅🤣
Absolutely love this level- and outbreak in general. It truly showcases how I believe Racoon City's downfall felt; slowly creeping up on the population, until it was too late. Like being in a bar, hearing about some cannibalistic murders on the news--- and next thing you know, the bar is overflowing with the infected.
Same. Him and the axe man from File 2 "The Flashback". I used to fully panic when I heard the vent being kicked out. I would hide in a locker or just leave the room.
They scream fucking right they scream shit you hear screams that aren't your partners out the random sometimes example in the outbreak scenario on very hard going into to the owners office you can hear a scream of a woman just randomly i dont know if it happens on the other difficulty but my experience was on very hard and I entered the room and remained idle for like 5 10 seconds to take a drink and out the the blue I hear this blood wrenching scream from a woman and it definitely caught me off guard and the survivors do scream have you had a jim on your team b4? They definitely scream

The Outbreak series is amazing, gives us a ton of info in how the events developed for the citizens of Raccoon City, and it’s really good with all those locations. The Wild Things scenario on File 2 is one of my favorites
RIP Dr 'Daniel Radcliffe' Hirsch... the one British character in the series (no, Alfred Ashford and his girlfriend are too cringe to count). Taken too soon :(
I'm glad you're doing these videos, these levels need more appreciation. As an environment artist myself, I'm always telling my colleagues about the Outbreak games, their levels are just exploding with atmosphere, giving the places a really "lived-in" feel to it. My favorite environments in a survival horror game.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but in Hellfire, going in the main lobby after breaking the door or unlocking it, there is a crawling zombie that can go up the stairs by grabbing your leg and getting offset on the stairs. This zombie also has the same crawl animation. Great video btw!
You can take him out in literally under 2 minutes if you know your way around the scenario. 'Course, there's always the chance on of the AIs ends up turning into a new Leech Man, so you can't afford to dawdle.
It could be, that the hive is a reference to the leeches behaviour, which is simliar to the ones of RE0. They acted also in a sort of hive nehaviour, even with a queen controlling them.
I was in my University year when I first play this game. I was VERY OBSESS with it!! Great game concept. Nice characters. Nowadays I'm obsessed with Resident Evil Resistance, which is similar but rather 4 survivors against 1 mastermind. I play daily just like I used to play ReOutbreak. If they can remaster this game it would be awesome!
God I love outbreak lore. Fun facts. Kevin's favorite color is blue. Jim has only password for evrything. David is band from the blockbuster on Murdock Street.
The naming of "The Hive" I think was because the leeches seemed to display a hive-mind like behavior. And since this was the only area these leeches showed up, it was like their nest or hive.
For me, the best way to do this level is to head straight for the control room and unlock the B2 area, then make a beeline for the temperature room and kill the Leechman immediately. With him off your ass the scenario becomes much more manageable. Just don't bet on the AIs getting out with you, they seem to have a particular fondness for wandering off in this level and with all the leeches and zombies everywhere, it's practically guaranteed that you'll see them drag themselves into the room you're in, bleeding and nearly dead at some point. If you're Cindy, Jim is almost certainly a goner on anything above normal. As for the Leech Queen, it's not so bad. If you're on the easier settings you can quite reliably take it out with either the handgun or burst handgun. The submachine gun sucks for this fight because its damage per shot is absolutely abysmal, you'll take it out much quicker with pistols. For harder settings, just lure it to the environmental hazards, it's not that hard to avoid its poison spit and its tentacle attack has a maximum range limit where it can't reach you. It probably is the second hardest boss in the first game, but only because the others are so damn easy and it has more health than the sun.
Yo, said it before and I'll say it again. THANK YOU for the outbreak videos. I never had the chance to play them, but the lore and details are so rich, it makes the series better. Plus its like a whole new RE to me.
Aww, you didn't mention the document in the level that talks about James Marcus' (RE0 antagonist) obsession with leeches. It mentions how the leech man is not the same breed as the intelligent ones from RE0.
I like all Resident Evil games including Outbreak but I need Cheat codes and Walkthroughs every time. Since lockdowns are so often in our country, I get to play retro games. Thanks for sharing your tips here. Big help
@@alexradice8163 it's in reply to the video where he says he's not sure why the level is called "The Hive" It's as simple as that, just an answer to an openly posed question that I didn't see addressed yet in the comments. Seems an odd thing to take issue or offense at.
Love your Resident Evil videos. Especially the Outbreak ones. I posted a video this morning about the first time I ever played a Resident Evil game and I even give you a shout-out.
"Oh! I apologise if I suprised you. Please do not be alarmed, I'm a doctor at this hospital. I must say that this hospital is not an ideal place to take shelter. It's not as safe as it may look or sound. I myself have decided to get out of here as soon as possible."
Arguably the best RE channel on RUclips. You should try to guest star on the Resident Evil podcast. Used to be called 'The Project Umbrella Podcast' those guys are great.
5:45 Do you remember in the level of Hell Fire on the 1st floor of the building? There's also an animation of zombie crawling man, and it can catch you too
I always love if RE Outbreak Character and story. It's so good They are each have their skill to support each other And as i always say. RE Outbreak is the biggest potential for RE Tv Series Maybe follow the story from the Character before and maybe after the outbreak👍 (Sorry for my english.still learning)
I mostly agree.... this channel and Ink Ribbon are the only 2 RE channels I like! I say Ink Ribbon is just as good imo. They do videos similar but different. (I especially love their "out of bounds" ones) Edit: I meant their Easter egg videos not out of bounds. That was a different channel altogether lol still interesting though.
Love your vids and Happy New Year ScorePN!!! I always thought that the Hive would eventually lead to Below Freezing immediately after since the Sewer that the survivors end up in seems like the one that led to the main Umbrella lab. I wish that CAPCOM had given us a Remake of Outbreak instead of that LAME RESISTANCE Online game.....Would've given us a chance to see more of Raccoon City with the RE ENGINE.......Especially since they cut HELLA content out of the main game..................................................................
Really loving this Outbreak series, covering the scenarios and all the cool little tid bits! It really makes me want to go back and play outbreak all over again
Not being able to kick or take down zombies easy is fine for normies but its laughable that people complain that newer RE games let you have combat beyond knifing
21:36 OK, im calling it. THIS has be programmed in as some sort of comeback mechanic in the outbreak series. Same no hope scenario happened to me in RE: Outbreak 2; I was on my last legs, low on ammo, most of the other CPU survivors were either dead or missing for large chunks of the play through, and somehow one of them showed up with a weapon at the last minute as if they had be following me through the escape trail the whole time. Albeit mine only picked me up and acted as a dmg sponge while I escaped to the sound of him being brutally attacked as I climbed out, I always thought it had to be very lucky RNG.
Great video, but you are forgetting at 5:42 that there are more exclusively crawling zombies in RE Outbreak. In the Hellfire scenario, on the 1st floor Lounge Stairs area there is a crawler that pursues you as you traverse the ground floor. He won't chase you up the stairs, but he is a persistent bastard for sure.
Looking back, I'm so proud of myself at age 12 for being able to fully complete this game by myself without any help or walkthroughs. I beat all of the maps on every difficulty and even without weapons or taking damage. This level in particular used to scare the hell out of me because of the leechman that just popped up. Idk how I got through it alone
Capcom is committing a crime for not releasing a remastered with online support of Outbreak #1 and #2 for the XBox and PS5. Or even better, Outbreak #3
I really want to become your Patreon member soon and choose the best tier one. I seriously love your voice on these resident evil videos and just in general. I want to support your channel as best as i can. Truly one of my top 3 fav channels ever 💙
Apart from the first scenario this one was my favourite, the idea of going through the hospital while it’s under siege by the undead is such a cool concept
Ironic first time i encounter the leachman was when me kevin lookong aound the room with another survivor cindy and when she left, i found a gun is when the lahman shows up, like a movie when someoneleft and you're all alone and smesht show up to attack you
An extra way for difficulty in any RE game that had Zombies grab you could have had easily 2 or 3 zombies attacking you at the same time via biting you.
Why is it called 'The Hive'?.....Because of the queen leech and the swarm of leeches that took over the hospital. Using it as their nest or 'Hive' as some would call it.
So this question has been bugging the shit out of me. So let's say I'm playing as George or David (Or anyone else with Cindy on their team). And I manage to keep my allies safe through the whole thing. Then I reach the helipad. I approach him, but instead of talking to him, can I have Cindy talk to him instead and still get the MP5? Because I know he'll only give it to Kevin or Cindy. It would really help if get a prompt answer to this. And please, I don't want theories or speculation. I want a definitive confirmed answer.
My theory they call this scenario "The Hive", maybe because it was hotspots and breeding ground for zombies. Since most pandemic or epidemic scenario in real life, people seek medical help or shelter in Hospital thus "the Hive" a perfect breeding ground for diseases and zombies to thrive.
Back In the day I borrowed a cheat disc from a friend, Gameshark or something like that. It unlocked everything for Outbreak 1 and 2 for ps2. For the life of me I cannot remember what I used and have since lost the save file. Does anyone here know a way I can get my hands on these cheats, I still play these games and would love to play with cheats enabled. Thank you in advance.

I personally think that the AI in the outbreak games is brilliant for one simple reason; Because they make so many mistakes it makes me think that they are actually human. Think about it for a minute,
You or I, experienced RE veterans, would know immediately what to do and how to progress, our minds know what's a useful item and what's an expendable item, something to keep and something to toss.
Big help
This scenario is difficult.
The Hive refers to the Hive Mind of the leeches in the scenario.
Did you learn that in college? A stupid person like me and everyone else wouldn't have been able to figure that out
@@alexradice8163 it's in reply to the video where he says he's not sure why the level is called "The Hive"
It's as simple as that, just an answer to an openly posed question that I didn't see addressed yet in the comments.
Seems an odd thing to take issue or offense at.
Thanks score for all your hard work
Love your Resident Evil videos. Especially the Outbreak ones.
I posted a video this morning about the first time I ever played a Resident Evil game and I even give you a shout-out.
Please do more scenarios! Haven’t had an outbreak fix since I was a kid!!!
You're absolutely correct.
Have a happy New year.
Ink Ribbon is great too.
This is possibly the easiest scenarios to do online, but the most frustrating offline.
Everytime you make something you always make something incredible
5:45 Do you remember in the level of Hell Fire on the 1st floor of the building? There's also an animation of zombie crawling man, and it can catch you too
My local game shops has re outbreak for the ps2, is it worth coping?
I always love if RE Outbreak Character and story. It's so good
They are each have their skill to support each other
And as i always say. RE Outbreak is the biggest potential for RE Tv Series
Maybe follow the story from the Character before and maybe after the outbreak👍
(Sorry for my english.still learning)
Great live video was happy to be a part of the live stream, Happy a blessed new year y’all! 😎❤️
I loved this game. Capcom is sitting on a remake gold mine
Woo! The best Resisdent Evil youtuber there is with another hit! Lol
I mostly agree.... this channel and Ink Ribbon are the only 2 RE channels I like! I say Ink Ribbon is just as good imo. They do videos similar but different. (I especially love their "out of bounds" ones)
Edit: I meant their Easter egg videos not out of bounds. That was a different channel altogether lol still interesting though.
@@amyschildgamerlive4519 And the 25 facts on __ from Ink Ribbon's channel are also great stuff !
✨✨✨Happy 2021 guys ✨✨✨
We in here!
Trapson an RE fan? Oh shit. Double toasted fan here.
Amazing tutorial! Thank you!
The closest the resident evil movie fans will get to playing as Alice. All they needed was a mary sue in the game and they could have said it was her.
I could do with a Remake of these games
I always wondered when they stopped evacuating people from the hospital roof. Seeing the cop pass always saddened me
Love your vids and Happy New Year ScorePN!!!
Yes another resident evil content best commentary ever🔥
Another great vid, love the thing with Jim. Sometimes that AI would pull some hilarious stuff
Really loving this Outbreak series, covering the scenarios and all the cool little tid bits!
It really makes me want to go back and play outbreak all over again
You'll find zombies crawling in Hellfire
True
ScorePN when Jim showed up:

This video has been deleted...
Not being able to kick or take down zombies easy is fine for normies but its laughable that people complain that newer RE games let you have combat beyond knifing
21:36
OK, im calling it.
Happy New Year ScorePN. I love these scenario recaps. Makes me wish they Remastered this instead of the rumored RE4
I think RE 4 is too recent to be remastered, indeed.
Happy New Year! I really enjoy and love the way of your storytelling and explanation in every scenario that you have recently made.
Capcom doesn't know what they're missing when they don't remake Outbreak #1 and #2 plus Dino Crisis!!
Ironic first time i encounter the leachman was when me kevin lookong aound the room with another survivor cindy and when she left, i found a gun is when the lahman shows up, like a movie when someoneleft and you're all alone and smesht show up to attack you
This games feels ahead of it's time and needs a remake soon : )
An extra way for difficulty in any RE game that had Zombies grab you could have had easily 2 or 3 zombies attacking you at the same time via biting you.
Capcom does not need to make a multiplayer mode for Resident evil 3 remake.... they already got on point with Outbreak series.... so bring them back.
Why is it called 'The Hive'?.....Because of the queen leech and the swarm of leeches that took over the hospital. Using it as their nest or 'Hive' as some would call it.
Your definitely my favorite Outbreak content creator.
Happy new year!
The outbreak series are my favorite go to games when I’m feeling nostalgic.
ScorePN what do you think of dead by daylight
As always, good videos from you.
Thanks a lot.
I'd love to play Outbreak online with you or Ink Ribbon through obsrv / PS2 / PS2 network adapter.

man these videos carried through 2020, thanks so much dude, and happy new year!
Big fan of your videos man you really know how to get me in that old school resident evil mood. Thanks a bunch and keep them coming please!
I'm so happy that I found your channel. Can't wait to see what you have in store for 2021!!!
Man, your channel have some amazing content, keep up with the good work and happy new year for you and everyone
@ScorePN hope you do a Video on the Resident Evil Showcase that just happened. Talk about a dumpster fire.
does he actually explain anything or does he just narrate the game. Honestly i learned nothing new here.
He explains what to do lmao, not his problem that you already did it.
@@foreverbored1713 oh what to do,hmm kinda useless
Jim Chapman saved you?🤣. It's almost unheard of. He barely listens to you. Him n Dave but mostly Jim. Was this on emulator or ps2?
Happy New Year ! Score pn.
I saw some video some time ago & that player pulled a Cindy solo run/ no damage/no weapon run on this scenario on very hard & defeated the boss with only tackles & spot on dodges.
Look around you may find it.
Hi,
Can you please make a video about ark thompson of resident evil survivor? Thank you 😇😇😇
Biohazard Outbreak file#1 and file#2 on Nintendo switch 👌
