from the city of london. now replaced with 32cwt ring of twelve because the old ring was to heavy for the tower and were hung on two levels and wasn't very easy to fit in the tower and were horrible to ring and they sounded like pots. until 2011 Taylor's in loughborough bellfoundry melted all of the bells apart from the tenor because it is unique which will be sent to Perth in Australia (not sure when.) And the new twelve go a lot nicer and easier to handle. and only 2 or 3 bells weren't melted down and 2 of the bells are preserved in the tower.
And here it is in loughborough bellfoundry been swung.
Taken on the 2/8/22
For a visit to the foundry and had a ring on twelve nice to ring.
weight of tenor in loughborough bellfoundry is : 5cwt

The original 12 at Cornhill were hung by my dad who was a bell hangerfor Whitechapel.
I remember him say8ng he didnt like the bells as they were a m8xed bunch of old bangers and way to heavy for the tower.
He would love the new Taylor 12.
I agree the old twelve didnt sound nice, but I prefer the new twelve and they sound a lot nicer.
Glad I had the opportunity to ring it in the tower 😁
They are definitely nice to ring on.
You rung the cornhill tenor bell? Or the bellfoundry bells?
I nice small bourdon bell right?
It never use to be a bourden bell it was hung for full circle ringing at st Michael cornhill in london. But at some point it's going to be transported to perth in Australia, (not sure when) and its only 42cwt about 2 tons.
Extrem gekröpft klingt aber trotzdem sehr gut ❤
Even on its own it still sounds good.
What do you mean by "extremely cranked"
@@RingerOliver59 The way, the Bell hangs
@@andreasboose5611oh I see. Thank you 👍
@@RingerOliver59 it's what we would refer to as very counter weighted ! (typical British way to hang bourdon bells)
@@adamm2693 clever.
It looks identical to the Great Peter bell at York Minster
@MatthewsNation maybe because it has a borden bell headstock?
No the bell is more shiny than Great petah
I know because the st Michael cornhill tenor bell has been kept inside and the wether hasn't got to it. And with great Peter it is inside the york minsters tower and that where the wether gets inside because of small gaps through where the sounds comes out and make a noise.
Where is it gonna be sent
I'm not to sure.
@@RingerOliver59 oh it might be sent to Perth but let’s just wait and see
@@RingerOliver59it could be tenor reef

What do you mean by that ?
@@RingerOliver59 I wrote the musical note of that bell, increasing means that the bell can tend to get closer to the C that you don't even notice.

It was my late father Ernest James Rowe who hung the old 12 ar Cornhill.
I do remember him saying they were a real cock-ups.
Two levels and to he a vy for the tower.
Also a mishmash of bells and I don't think they sounded together.
I thought they sounded like old pots and pans.
@@Steven_Rowe the tenor still doesn't sound nice on it's own
