Avi's music is like a breath of fresh air. I love it!

His EP with the Sequoias (pronounced "sa KOY yas") was actually recorded before he left PTX. This is more Avi's type of music than the "pop" of PTX, and it was something he was looking forward to getting back to. Although this was not the ultimate catalyst for his departure (his family issues and his ongoing struggles with the fast-paced lifestyle of PTX were the primary reasons), I think the fact that the joy he had in recording the Sequoias EP was a personal sign for him that the time was right. Most of the songs on that first EP, plus on the two solo EPs he has released since then, are all Avi originals and are very personal and introspective. One could say it's Avi's soul-cleansing and self-healing music. I absolutely LOVE his solo stuff, as it speaks to me on a very personal level. I have been telling people that I think Avi has somehow hacked into my brain, heart & soul, and is writing and recording music that is for and about me personally. I have found a kindred spirit in Avi and his solo music.

I'm so glad you guys loved this!!! PLEASE check out a few more for Avi (not a reaction request, just general request since you seemed to love it)! His EP is amazing. All their solo stuff is amazing! I appreciate all these PTX-related reactions but I know you have others but thank you! I have had the pleasure of meeting them and they are all humble and appreciative. I've met Avi (in the wild - so to speak, not only at a meet & greet) and he is beyond humble and appreciative. I have been blessed to have meet & greet and have met him before so I stood back and let others talk & take photos with him when we were at the busses after the concert (I was there as friends I was with wanted to be there). At the end he actually said, "Did I get everyone". He pointed to me and said "What about you?" and you don't say no to Avi so the fact he noticed me in the back of a crowd was amazing and a testament to who he is as a person! Thank you again, for the many PTX-related reactions lately! :-)

    I'm actually first 😲
Edit: Avriel is his name and the Sequoia is a national park close to where he grew up if I'm not wrong. He's a nature boy, our Avi ❤ So I'm assuming that's why his band is called The Sequoias. His solo project is very folk-oriented, but this is not on his EP. You should watch one of his originals, I would recommend Quarter Past Four, you'll see a slightly different side to his voice.
And Scott and Mitch both have separate youtube channels where they don't post anymore, but there are some old stuff you can check out.
For Mitch: I'd recommend his cover of Find You, he sings in a very different register from what you're used to. I also suggest Graveyard, its beautiful.
For Scott: I suggest Creep and I Should Tell Ya Momma On You. They're both amazing, worth watching!
    Love ya'll :)

Thank you for your great reactions. I have to admit that I'm glad he left PTX if it means we actually get to hear HIS voice.

Try Scott Hoying and Mario Jose together. They did an amazing cover this past January where they paired an Oscar winning score by Hand Zimmer with the lyrics and melody of 'Lost on You' by LP. It's astonishingly good.

This is my second favourite song from Avi's solo things. The first one is Sweet Adeline. Maybe you could react to that one?
I so want Avi and Tim to do a solo collab. Avi has always been one of my favourite voices in PTX (together with Scott, and later with Kevin as well) and Tim is my favourite voice in Home Free (he's also my favourite vocalist altogether) so the two collaborating on something folk / country (or even another genre) would be epic for me.
Oh, and if you can, please react to Home Free's God Blessed Texas. They recorded both the song and the video in a very short amount of time to support people affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma. They also started a fundraiser by donating $20,000 themselves and asking their fans to match their donation. That was done so quickly that HF decided to raise the goal to $100,000 and as of now, $72,300 have been raised. They're also going to donate all the proceeds from the sales and streams of the song (God Blessed Texas) so if you have a Spotify account for instance, please consider helping by listening to the song on repeat there. ♥

Scott videos, yes! I recommend; Lost On You as others have said, Creep with Caitlyn Notey, I Should Tell Ya Momma on You, AND Trio singing Telephone by Lady Gaga.
Edit: OK, one more; Scott Hoying All I Want for Xmas is You (2004) on his father, Rick Hoying's, channel.

Great reaction guys (as always)! You should really check out (and maybe react to if you'd like) his original music (like Fields and Pier, Quarter Past Four, Sweet Adeline), I think you'll love it! It's raw, emotional and kinda mystical :)

Love it! Since I play Planet Coaster and I'm always getting music for background for my different themed areas and attractions, this one will be a great addition. I naturally love the bluegrass/folksy sound and I love the name as well.

I think you guys would like The Dead South "In Hell I'll be in good Company"
It has this same feel to it. Laid back, banjo, kinda fun.

Love the reactions. For a great bass smooth quality, another one is Geoff Castellucci from Voice Play. Very low notes, but still smooth. Doesn't sound forced. Of recent bass singers, Avi, Geoff and Tim Foust are my favorites

You can find Mitch's solo performance at the Project Heal event in NYC, just have to look for it. Thin it will be on youtube as Mitch Grassi - Joga and then Mitch Grassi - Age. Those are the songs and a fan posted both songs separately. Live performance and Mitch is wonderful!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know who the other singers were? I'd love to check them out as well. Peace and love everyone
