I think Jackie Chan was supposed to be one of the villains at the end? It's why Stallone is fighting a guy doing martial arts, but I don't think things worked out. In any case, despite being friends, Stallone always decried having to learn fight choreography, which is ironic given the Rocky films.

    Well he didn't just work on the film and demand things the guy actually co-wrote all five films and directed. The Rambo and Rocky movies are his babies but unfortunately the way Hollywood work they screwed him out of the rights to those movies so it's the parent companies that own the rights to his movies even though he wrote them.

    • @paulrobinson3213
      @paulrobinson3213 10 месяцев назад +1

      You mean he sold the rights to movie companies right. He could have paid his own money to get them made but he didn't. If the movie failed would Stallone pay them back for their investment. Nope. They took the risk. They get the reward. All you poors have zero idea how business works.

    • @AdityaKaul-dm8fk
      @AdityaKaul-dm8fk 9 месяцев назад +1

      He sold those IPs though to the studios. His gripe was only with the Rocky franchise which ended up with one person who bought them off the studio and became the boss who could dictate terms which Sly has a problem with. As long as corporate owned it, the writing could still be in Sly's control in the writers room. Unfortunately once you sell rights it's not yours anymore and you can't always tell what happens to it.

    Also, in the original script, he was supposed to get beaten up by that spetnaz commando. Stallone wasn't happy with that cos rambo can not lose (please remember that ussr was the enemy at the time). The scene got rewritten. Also, the end credits, where the movie is 'dedicated to the gallant people of afghanistan' also went missing after the Afghans got shafted by the US after doing the dirty work for them. They were no longer freedom fighters (Reagan words!) and got labelled 'terrorists' as they had served their purpose.

    People might call him dumb for not asking for straight cash but accounting for inflation that jet is worth more now than it was then. In fact it’s the only way his money would actually hold it’s value.

    WELL, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, BASED ON ALL THE INCREDABLY HARD PHYSICAL WORK AS FAR AS PREPERATION OF GETTING HIS BODY IN SHAPE, THE EXHAUSTIVE HARD WORKING CONDITIONS, AND ALL THE TICKETS THAT WERE SOLD WORLD WIDE, HE EARNED AND DESERVED HIS JET PLANE!!!!

    So the budget was $63 million, but $12 million of that was spent to buy Sly a private jet? Wtf? So the effective movie production budget was $41 million because 20% of the original budget was spent on buying one person a luxury item... :/

    Ох уж эти плохие русские! Если бы не добрые и справедливые американцы, СССР захватил бы весь мир и везде расположил бы свои военные базы. А также каждые 3-5 лет устраивал военные операции в странах, на основании пробирки с порошком. Вводил бы санкции против каждой страны, которая не подчиняется священному социализму и менял бы правительства везде, где захочет. А так ….. секундочку…. 🤔 а кто это сейчас делает нечто подобное в мире? Что-то я запутался.
