New LG Washing Machine WM3400CW - BIG Problems & Waste of Money & Time

  • UPDATE: LG did send a technician out and now the washer works fine. Some sort of weight, or something like that, was loose and was quickly repaired. I was also told by the tech that just a few hand towels only in the washer can cause the load to be unbalanced. Went to Costco again they put these LG washers on clearance for 397.97 so I bought another that I have still in the box. I use this machine daily and it works with no more banging.
    The unit is perfectly level and videos made when level.
    No help from customer service even after I sent them three videos. This hunk of junk will not last long so being returned which is a huge pain in the A#*. Made the mistake of thinking since my 18 year old LG is still working just fine that a new one would be better. Wasted money and now a lot of wasted time dealing with useless customer service on the phone (even trying to get to talk to a human), making videos for LG, and now having to disconnect it and load in on the truck and return it which is a long drive for me. This will take me an entire day! LG kept texting me immediately after purchasing to review the washer on their website and I initially may have given it a good review; good thing I waited and now I know why they want the review right away.

    I had a 21 year old LG washer, I bought the mid range model from this generation of Lg washers back in 2020 to replace it. although it does occasionally do what yours does, it’s never done it to that degree. But my clothes always come out clean and haven’t had a single issue for 3 years counting, and I hope it stays that way. Although I’ll never touch an LG fridge, given the state of almost every other domestic washer manufacturer right now, LG seems to be the only logical brand to buy, with the highest reliability rating and service track records and best cleaning performance.

    Great update that you put in the description 👍 it would have been nice if you put it in a comment too. I am glad you got it fixed and that you bought another one at such a good price.

    My lg does this mostly when it’s under filled or overloaded…. It doesn’t move though. I would say it’s ok. You only need a tiny bit of detergent for the load you put it it’s definitely under filled and a couple of heavy items in a big drum is going to make bang and come up with “Ub” unbalanced load. I fill mine to the top it’s fine and don’t have problems with spinning.
    I do agree the springs definitely need more tension on them. These are no good for under half a load and just a couple of hand towels is not enough for it. The weight stays in one place in the drum and 90% of washing machine has this feature. This is my 2nd lg my first one was from 2002.

    its usualy something with the shock absorbers are broken or loose. also the huge amount of soap, check if its an HE washer, if it is, thats your problem. if its a regular one, run a rinse cycle a few times with nothing (not even soap)

    But anyways I have same washer and it works great, cleans very well and love the new design of the direct drive inverter motor
    I would say that it was definitely to small of a load and that the water level should have been changed to light @ light spin

    Return it and buy a speed Queen tc 5 the old school wash like our mom had when we were young ! Full tub of water and done in 35 minutes !!!

      Gotta love speed queen washers that use two bathtubs worth of water and enough electricity to fire the lights of a Christmas church parade just to give me average cleaning results!

      @@Ikey04-ge9gy I haven’t had any problems I have had my 2017 speed Queen top of the line for 6 years maybe 4 loads a week . I dont overload it and use tide powder a little oxy clean and Lysol disinfectant in the rinse dispenser and clothes come out clean and fresh and dry fast in my Miele T1 heat pump dryer . I also run a tide washing machine cleaner once a month . So far it’s been a champ and not disappointed compared to my old Kenmore oasis HE .

    That's defenitly a defect after i saw how much it shook when you moved it. mine does jump but only on unbalanced loads

    How much detergent are you using in this machine? If you're always using too much detergent, it's most likely damaging the bearings, possibly the spiderweb. I have the LG WM2250CW from 2012, that is similar to this washer, and I have only had to have a control board replaced, because it got damaged in the move from my old home, to my current home. Everything else works fine.

    Don't buy the more expensive models by LG. They are the same machine inside, only thing changed is the labels or features on the panel of the machine. If getting a used machine is possible for you I highly recommend it. The LG washing machines started decreasing in quality around 2012. Now their top loading units have plastic in the base of the drum which comes apart due to the high spin forces. I only recommend a used machine or speed queen

    i hope you sent it back or exchanged it. Clearly the shocks are broken or they did not attach it at the factory ....

    I know this is silly, but did you remove the shipping bolts all of them? It's amazing how sometimes people forget.

    • @Ikey04-ge9gy
      @Ikey04-ge9gy 7 месяцев назад +3

      If it was shipping bolt, the drum would be 100% rigid while the rest of the washer moves like hell. I think this is just a lemon, or one of its shocks might have fallen off

    I would certainly file a complaint with the BBB. I'm just not sure if I'd file against LG or the retailer. I certainly would file one though.

    You haven’t got enough washing in there, put more in it’s struggling to balance the load

    Are you using HE detergent? It's not supposed to foam up like "regular" detergent for this reason. I have a nine year old LG and have also replaced the drain pump (with help of a RUclips video - very easy, all went well.) I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

      It can’t possible be “gone” as it is a new machine. I do wonder if one of the suspensions rods/shock absorbers have fallen off the base of the drum during transit. Happened when to my old LG when I moved houses

    Buy a used top load machine. HE machines are lousy washers.

  • @CaseyOliver-gq9zz
    @CaseyOliver-gq9zz 7 месяцев назад +2

    It sounds like it could be the shock and the suspension springs that are weak, and besides, LG WASHERS ARE NOTHING BUT GARBAGE ANYWAY.

      LG is the most reliable mass produced washer backed up by hard data based on tens of thousands of washers and customer experience. Wth you yapping about?
