I 100% agree with Dave about getting serious and having guaranteed guests booked. There is no reason there shouldn't be a quality guest on each week. Many shows & podcasts have backup guests (less sought after for sure) that would be HAPPY to be on standby in case the main guest backs out just for the potential opportunity to be able to promote something they're proud of or involved in. #iknownumbies

What a weird argument...
First of all the reason why Squid Games was automatically set to English with subtitles, is because Netflix sets shows to your USUAL preferences. A person who only watches shows in English would have gotten it in English dubbed, a person who only watches shows with their original language and subtitles in English would have gotten it in Korean and English subbed. You said that you always watch shows in English with English subtitles, which explains why you got both subbed and dubbed.
Second of all, the show was created in Korean, the actors acted in Korean, everyone on the show is Korean, so it is "meant" to be watched in Korean with subtitles to help you understand. I don't understand the argument of Netflix presented it a certain way, there's a reason why you can adjust your preferences. Netflix does not dictate the ultimate way it should be watched, because it automatically adjusts how it is watched depending on your USUAL preferences, and that is different for everyone. SO although you got it a certain way, another (in the same area as you) person will get it presented differently.
So for the love of god watch it in Korean subbed, because that's how the show was created and meant to be watched. SMH

In Australia, Netflix plays it in Korean with English subtitles by default. It may default to English dubs in America as Netflix has assumed Americans will not want to listen to Korean....just a guess....

I watch everything with subtitles. Idk if it’s just me but I hear it better at a lower level if the subtitles are on. I love watching different languages with subtitles it’s more organic and I always watched anime subbed not dubbed over.

Also when they have to dub over a show they do change what they’re saying to an extent to try and match mouth movements. It is true anime watchers are used to watching subbed versions. I don’t see it as reading and watching, at this point it’s so normal I read quickly and can watch everything happening in the show/movie

I was watching it in Korean with sub titles but then I found out some important times the sub titles were inaccurate. I then started watching with English dub and subtitles and it's interesting how the translation is not the same on both.

That live video of said Brian Laundries was not him, it was two boys on a boat fishing from a tik tok video I’ve seen the whole video. I’ve been non stop everyday watching all news outlets and it’s all so crazy, I can’t wrap my head around it all. Yesterday there was major police activity at the reserve in FL because of a campsite that shows evidence of Brian being at said campsite.
Just try to make the podcast enjoyable and stop bringing up every episode that y’all don’t have guests. The discussion is exhausting already. We’re here for you 3, guest or not.
While watching this I made a quick guest Netflix account because of course everyone in my house has watched the show and I wanted a fresh perspective. Squid game does come originally as dubbed English no subtitles. But the way 6 people I know watched it was in Korean with English subtitles
