“Beauty & The Beat” is something very different than your ordinary rock show, let alone your ordinary classic concert. Its music played in an unorthodox manner, it’s the performance of a wide range of classical pieces and rock songs together with an orchestra and choir. It strikes you with awe.
Originally planned as a one-time event - the first performance was already held in 2011, the show was too successful with fans and critics to simply never happen again. In spring 2013, Tarja Turunen and drummer Mike Terrana again toured throughout the world, from Poland to Russia to Mexico.
The music of “Beauty & The Beat” ranges from immortal classic pieces by Bach, Strauss and Mozart to Rossini, but doesn’t neglect pure rock music like songs from Led Zeppelin, Queen as well as Tarja’s own pieces. All combined with orchestra and choir with more than 100 musicians on stage, an enormous sound, energetic drums and Tarja’s angelic voice.
Tarja and Mike complement each other musically. Whereas Mike bangs his drums with rock attitude, Tarja shines with her crystal clear voice and incredible stage presence; all lulled with the warm, full sound of an orchestra.
Shes so agile of her voice, I love how shes following the director orchestra tempos! Very difficult aria!

I love floor, but I'm sorry to all the Fanboys out there that came across nightwish by watching Ghost love score reaction, please hands down who's the better singer. With that said floor is the much better fit for nightwish in the stage of their music will not fit their new music but for overall singer? LOL it's not even close

Would I dare say this is the hardest aria she has sung to date? Tarja, even though the part at 03:20 needed more control and better pace I am astounded at that last note and the overall high range that you display for a heavy type of soprano that you are, venturing to such heights.... you know no boundaries woman!

@@LigeiaNoire that perhaps because you never learnt English , grammar or hairstyling! i gin cousin refers to drunk commentary! english is made up of 3 main language groups native, germanic and french all underwent a major transformation in spelling in thelast 200 year, did you know "gh" is dutch but england paid dutch printers for books and wer charge per letter so dutch spelling is longer but now english, all of this is irrelevant as you offered no muscial defence? why no just cough the hair ball of defeat!

What are you talking about?
Well, this is written for a coloratura soprano and Tarja isn't a coloratura, so she actually did a great job for her vocal type being a Lyric Spinto Soprano, agility and very high notes on the sixth octave aren't their forte compared to light voices like coloraturas. A spinto will shine most at powerful, dark heavy vocals, a coloratura would pale at this next to Tarja and that's why we have different vocal types for different pieces.
@@Marcusrafaelfet evidently you did not read the description. Music performed in unorthodox styles. She is not out to make a blind cover of what others do especially those who have spent a lifetime perfecting one thing.
She is however stretching herself to sing something outside her comfort zone and not the expected or safe choices. The idea is to take beautiful music and sing with it for an audience who may never have given this a first look, never mind a 2nd.
She has a masters in music. She knows full well about what type of song goes with which singers usually. The point is to break the rules. Bring classical music back to the people.
@@Boa_Omega ??? Im not criticizing her, but some people are saying she did a bad job here cause they expect her to sound like a coloratura when shes not. All Im saying ia that she did a great job considering its a lot harder for her than it would be for a coloratura.
