  • Ahoy! Let’s Think! Today we answer the question, What are Stars? Have you ever looked up at the night sky and seen hundreds of even thousands of tiny twinkling lights? Those are stars which are luminous balls of gas, made mostly of hydrogen and helium, held together by its own gravity. There are approximately 200 billion trillion stars in the universe. A grouping of stars next to each other are called constellations and make a perceived shape or outline. They are usually named after mythological characters, people, animals and objects such as the big and little Dipper, orion the hunter and Taurus the bull.
