- Eight times world memory champion Dominic O'Brien demonstrates his amazing abilities during one of eight lectures presented by Dr David Lewis at the Brighton University. To build a supercharged memory for yourself, go to the Brain Builders page at www.askdrdavid.co.uk
Its actually amazing how he could recognize repeating patterns of the number without searching for them.
I love the fact that he lays the foundation that he is not super human and its all to do with techniques and training.
Such humbleness.
I agree - very encouraging video
I have known and worked with Dominic for many years and agree he is a modest and highly talented individual who gives hope to many.

Hats off sir
Thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback, this is most welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your support. Many apologies for the lengthy delay in replying, but life has become increasingly difficult since Covid as I am sure you will appreciate.

Dominic O' Brien is The "MEMORY MAN" and 8th World Memory Champion!! Awesome RUclips Video
Thank you for sharing.
This is incredible. I'm learning Japanese so I might as well practice this.
Not an easy language. I once had a Finnish girlfriend and tried to learn their language! A hopeless task but I feel sure you will succeed. Dan posted an interesting video last week on how he used imagery to learn every playing card in the pack! It really works. 車は捨てて 別のを探すわ バスを捕まえる
@@onemanandhiscamerasdavidle2783 Awesome. I won't give up! :D
Good luck with your Japanese, Or was the Japanese might say 今こそ戦うか、逃げ切るかの選択をせねばならないそのときが来たのですぞ!!
He is the best mnemonic man
He certainly is very talented and a very nice man as well.
This game will soon famous in all countries
Big fan of you from Turkey!
Thanks, I have lectured in your beautiful country in many occasions and greatly enjoyed my time there. You have some wonderful universities.
The funniest part is that he realised she kept repeated 7109. Probably because he kept seeing the same thing
i guess it becomes pretty noticeable - god, why does tiger woods keep skiing everywhere? first, in my bedroom, and then the basement. leave me alone man!!??
Becoming a big fan, on how to be brilliant at memorization
Totally agree I was exactly like that moment of the mouth specifically. Often I would even knew their talk before they would talk!!!! 🤔
wow....I am also practising memory techniques. SIR DOMONIC O BRIEN your great fan from Pakistan. The first book I ever read about memory techniques was Dominic O brein's HOW TO DEVELOP A PERFECT MEMORY.
The exact book I read about memory. And I'm also a Pakistani
Thanks for your positive feedback. Dominic is a very clever man and a master of memory techniques. However, I am sure we can all improve our memory by using his methods.
it was my first book too. Great respect from Ukraine.
I agree. The brain is a pattern recognition system par excellence. Everything we see, hear, taste and touch are merely a series of patterns from which the brain must make sense.
I am reading "The memory book" best hai
The Best mnemonists are Harry Lorayne & Dominic O'Brien.............Scott Bornstein in California also still does seminars but is less well known.
Brilliant. It's so hard to find info on RUclips. Thanks
Memory techniques have got to be better than bloody sudoku, which is pretty stultifying - I should know., the amount of time I've spent on it.. Also Id keep chess playing to a minimum. Connect 4 or better Gomoku are easily enough exercise.
Learning stuff you're interested in is the best thing to do - and discuss it with people. The creative play & concentration of these memory palace techniques does look like good mental exercise to me, if for no other reason because they are such fun
I am currently applying this approach to playing chess at the moment and am in the process of looking at a number of different memory tools & techniques and pulling those that will work best (in terms of speed accuracy & recall) so that I can encode a large numbers of games. The better you can analyse the problem (i.e. what you need to know & how you need to be able to recall it) the better you are able to tailor and design a personal system that will work best for you in a particular application.
I recommend it thoroughly
Thanks, sorry for the long delay but I have been working away from the UK and had a hard time getting home! Much appreciated.
Amazing! Thanks !
Thanks for sharing this video. Wished I would have found out about this during discards ago. Today I have tested this trick and I was amazed how well this actually works. I want to learn this to improve my general memory in remembering people, names, dates, for day to day in life activities. Now this video is covering how to remember numbers and cards. I was wondering how this can be applied to remember more contextual information, eg. a multiple choice quiz or the information of a book, etc?
Delighted you found this of interest. Dominic is a memory master par excellence and it was a delight to be working with him. This Sunday, 25 Oct, I intend to post the first of six videos under the title 'Helping your Child Through School. In the first, I will be describing a powerful learning machine you can make from nothing more complicated than a sheet of cardboard and some paper. Although intended for the carers of school-aged children it can be used by learners of all ages and has been shown to greatly enhance powers of retention and recall. I hope you find it useful.
E rất muốn học bài giảng của thầy Dominic O'Biren, nhưng e không hiểu tiếng anh , add làm ơn chỉ e cách với, e cảm ơn, mong lắm bài giảng được dịch sang tiếng Viêt Nam ạ, thanks!

It's amazing.
I agree, very talented and very pleasant.
Hello, I have an interesting question, how do we memorize inside the same palace the branches of the pictures? I mean, until the 7 spot are the same pictures, but at position 7 there are 3 choices (how do we visualize the options?) and afterwards the pictures are totally different acording to the selection. Do we go to spot 8 with 3 pictures? Do we change our spots for each variation? Do we change the palace? Thank you very much!
Hi,
Many apologies for the long delay in replying. You raise an interesting question and one to which I will reply in detail over the next few days. Thanks for the interesting enquiry and sorry again for not responding promptly. The Covid epidemic has put my laboratory under tremendous strain as I am sure you will appreciate
A very interesting question to which, frankly, I do not know the answer. My lab is presently researching the predictive powers of the cortex and how separate sensory signals are integrated into a whole. Maybe in another 10 months I'll be able to provide an answer.
ANY Musical Scale Memory systems anyone knows of that they’re willing to share, please?
just to memorize a number when You ar doing another matemathich lke in Backgammon?
but can he run crysis 2?
He can run gta5
No idea but I doubt it, he is too busy travelling. It's a great game, but I prefer Crysis 3
How does a person benefit from this in learning languages?
In his book he explains how
Dominic can learn any new language in 2 days. And it isn`t the best result.
You can use images to help memorize specific words, but in my experience, constant exposure is the real answer. I was born in France, came to the UK as a child, and learned English almost without realizing it. When I came to learn German aged 13, it was far more of a struggle. Immerse yourself, as far as possible, in the language and you will absorb itt like a sponge. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, they are a vital part of the learning process.
Great
Thank you - apologies for the 12 monthly delay in responding.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
This is impressive
Dominic O'Brien recommends that you memorize decks of cards as a memory exercise.
Really?
Hope it does.
It can improve your thinking skills too.
My colleague Dan Jones did just that on a video he posted here a few weeks ago. An interesting, if time-consuming, exercise.
