Hi there. Great review, it did persuade me to buy one myself. Unfortunatelly not very pleased with it as not even one month in use, the light began to flash lightly when it should be off. It looks like seeing lightning in the distance which is kinda cool but it is unintentionaly. I have found some reports of the same issue, starting with light blinking to end up to full disco. Some reported that the gear was replaced with new but those ended up having the same issue. I am more concerned that Aquael does not reply to my issue reports/mails. The gear looks fancy, when it works it does a good job but I would not recommend it. In my opinion Aquael have some software or hardware issues they don't know how to resolve thus no answers to my reports.
Oh no, this sounds really frustrating. Sorry you're having a hard time with the light. Fingers crossed you can return it or have it repaired. I'll pin your comment so ppl know there have been some issues. 🤞
Hi Martin - I'm pretty impressed to be fair, but must admit I have little to compare it to since I was using a cheap Nicrew light beforehand. Plants are growing really well and the colours are bought out nicely. I think there are definitley more aesthetically pleasing light units out there, but as with most Aquael products, your getting a quality product at an affordable pricepoint.
@@AquariumShed wow, stamina! 🤣 Your video also has me checking my settings on my main tank light. I have been struggling to get plants to grow and when you were going through the setting options it made me curious if I have the B/ R turned down which would be wrong for plants. I don't know that you intended for that to be a takeaway, but thanks!
Hello ! Thanks for your review, it was a great help. When you setup the time tables to turn off and on, can you do a complete black out in the midel of the day? That mean can you turn of from 7am to 12am, turn off from 12am to 16pm, and turn on again from 16pm to 21pm ??
Hiya. Glad you found the review useful. Yes, this will do exactly what you want. I have mine come on for two hours in the morning and then off until 15:30 when it comes on again until 22:00. I'm pretty sure the amount of on and offs that you can schedule is unlimited. Certainly more than you would require. It's a great unit! Enjoy! 👍
Hey. In my 55l tanks I currently use Fluval E Series, and in my 30l I use the Aquael Ultra Heater. I chose both because of the precise thermostatic control and digital temperature gauge. In the future, I think I will only buy Aquael Ultra Heaters. They are so affordable and made to be unbreakable!
Hi. Question. There is a second timer u can set it up ? For example, after sunset I will like to set up moon light for another 2-3 hours for example. Is that possible to be done to that unit ? Thanks
Hi David. No T slot or pinhead holes for mounting I'm afraid. The top of the light is one smooth piece of quite premium feeling acrylic. To ceiling mount this I think you'd have to do a bit of a DIY job with wire that wrapped under the unit. Hope that helps.
@@AquariumShed thanks for the reply mate. I have a 3d printer so I think that might solve the job. I'm debating this light over the fluval sea marine Bluetooth 3.0 at the moment 😬
@@DavidMFabrication Ha, it could definitley be overcome with a 3d printer. I think I need to add one to the wishlist. Any printer reccomendations? Like I say in the video, the app is a teeny bit buggy sometimes, but otherwise I cannot fault it. I have no experience of the Fluval light I'm afraid, I was mainly put off by price but that looks to be less of an issue these days now the Fluval lights are a bit older I guess. Good luck!
@@AquariumShed i have the old hictop prusia i3 which does the job if not a bit fiddly but everyone seems to go for the ender 3 these days which is a good budget printer from what I've read and seen. Thanks for the video and keep up the useful content! Thanks!
Thanks for the recommendation. I researched a little bit a while ago and I recall the Ender 3 being talked about a fair bit. I'll keep it in mind. Glad you like the video, if you ever spot tutorial gaps etc that you think I could explore, let me know! Always open to suggestions! 👍
Mine does not appear in avalable networks tab (the light_352b4c). EDIT: Ok, figured it out, no idea if it will help anyone. Hold the button on the light fixture (next to the blinking led, at the end of the bar) for 4 seconds so it turn the light red, then you will find it on your phone's wify list. After that it was easy. The instructions on this crap where so damn bad man. Needed 2 hours to figure it out.

hi, thanks for putting this up. What do you think now a few months later? how is the plant growth going?

Looks like a good light :p By the way what filter/heater do you use in your dennerle tanks?

Hiya. Yes this is absolutely possible. You can set as many on and off sequences as you want throughout the day! 👍

Does it have a t slot along the top or any other mounting options instead of the side rim clips?
