    I just recently found out about your channel and I gotta say: this is the best a320 learning channel I’ve seen!! Already learned about raw data ils and vor approaches in 40 minutes thanks to your channel! Please never stop what you’re doing :)
    Cheers from Germany 🇩🇪

    Without a doubt the best channel by far to learn how to operate an aerial simulator. A million thanks and great work.

    Gosh, there is a reason why 1 pilot operation was not allowed, and that reflect how good you are even in the sim. I was reliefed after you landing at such beautiful part of China. Got a question still, during approach, why you turn both FD off whlie flying the bird. And why switch to bird at such sceranio. Thanks again for your video and I learned a lot technics from it.

      Hi!
      Thanks for your kind words, so here’s what happened as I approached the runway following the LOC and GS it became apparent to me that the airport scenery and the instruments didn’t match (not an uncommon problem in MSFS) so since the weather was good I decided to go visual, when you do change to visual from an instrument approach we usually turn off the FDs and put the Bird on so we have no conflict with data from the FMGS the only automation that stayed on during the visual approach was the auto thrust.
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching the video! 😁👍🏽

    May I ask, why is the view between the cockpit and where the plane is actually going so offset? Anyways great video, keep it up!

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      We have a 3 screen setup with 3 x 75” 4K TVs, the way they’re mounted in front of the sim gives perspective that there is a slight offset (crab) it’s something we’re looking for suggestions to fine tune …

    Hi, in the very interesting video, I particularly noticed the choice in the selected mode to reach the FAF at the altitude indicated by the procedure. The guarded button HIGH ALT LANDED did not work. Was it a fault or are there cases in which it doesn't activate? If it was activated, what other information could you have about the speed tape in the PFD? When you extended the flaps to 1 the MW was activated. The speed at that moment was slightly above the dot green by a few knots. The VFE for 1+F is 215. Could you explain what happened?

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      Hello,
      Yes, I choose to go selected and manage my energy manually as in the A320 sometimes it doesn't follow the constraints properly and needs to be helped so you make sure you get to your assigned altitude and speed constraint on schedule.
      The "HIGH ALT" button didn't work when I pushed it in the video, our engineers are determining if it was a failure our simply we dont have it simulated in our model. Perhaps because we were landing at an altitude of less than 14,000 feet it choose not to turn on... but this needs to be confirmed...
      The Flaps and MW warnings was because I deployed the flaps at above FL200 which is a limitation error on my part. You should wait to be below FL200 as per the Airbus FCOM. Take this as an example of what not to do in the Airbus :)
      Hope this helps, best regards

      We've already done India, and we're moving east now, perhaps if there is a specific tutorial you'd like to see done, we can use (VABB) as the Airport. Let us know...

    What is the function of the High Altitude Landing button? I assume that is it something related to cabin pressure?

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      It stops the Passenger oxygen masks from automatically deploying when you land at a high altitude airport. When the pressurization system detects a cabin altitude of 14000+ feet it deploys the masks, pushing this button changes those parameters from 14000 to 16000+ so when we land at an airport that's 14000 feet but less than 16000 when we open the doors the A/C won't panic and think we're in a cabin pressure loss situation and deploy the masks.
      Hope this helps :)

    What sim and aircraft are you using?

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  10 месяцев назад

      We’re using msfs2020 with prosim320 as an aircraft addon. The simulator itself is a life size A320 enclosed cockpit built by a company in Poland called Poldragonet.

    -Since you had selected the High Alt Ldg which was INOP, why did the Cab Alt WARNING NOT trigger ??
    -You could have waited until below FL 200 to select flaps (Limitation).
    -Could have done a complete managed app with restrictions.

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      Hey Tony,
      Thanks for your input, yeah I realized it was INOP when I attempted to Push it, it didn’t work which is something our engineers would need to look into, however we didn’t get the Cab Alt warning cause it would only trigger if the Cab Alt was 14000 or higher, so no danger there considering we were landing at 11,700 feet.
      I could have waited till FL 200 or below for the flaps, Yes, Thanks for pointing that out, that’s why I got the flaps warning (Lesson learned) this is a limitation mentioned in the FCOM
      Complete managed App with restrictions? Wanna clarify on that?
      Any other things you see wrong please let us know…

      @@waypointsaviation Nothing is wrong. We learn every day.
      Yes, I said why not managed speed. Why select V/s and speed brakes. Managed guidance would have done all these.
      Also, after ldg. when outflow valve is opened , won't cabin alt. turn amber. I ask this is, in my 16000 hours on 320 family I have never done high altitude landing. Also we never had this "High Alt Ldg" switch.
      On the whole excellent video. Thanks.

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks Tony,
      I have a feeling the High Alt button on does work just didn’t light up cause technically once the Cab alt is over 8000+ we get a flash then turns red after 10000+ but in this case we got no warning so the High-Alt button was doing its job after all, I’ll need to investigate this, glad you brought it up.
      As for the App and descent, there are times when managed just doesn’t cut it, for whatever reasons the A/C comes in high over the constraint or too fast, so in this video I wanted to show other ways of getting down with more control other than just leaving it all to the computer. In most cases specially in busy airports they leave you nice and high and suddenly ask you to decent so in this case managed almost never works for me and I find going (Manual) on the FCU helps me gain more control over the A/C.
      As long as I’ve been flying the A320, we have always had the High Altitude Button on the OHP, perhaps the variant you flew didnt?? Not sure.
      Thanks again, and WOW 16000 Hours?! On A320? That’s impressive! Are you retired now? Or Still flying?

      @@waypointsaviation retired from AirIndia in 2015.
      -Can you briefly explain how does this High Alt Ldg switch work. What does it do ??
      - regd managed speed and alt guidance, I agree with you . We used to carry out VOR app Rwy 22 at Katmandu. There as you said we had to go selected V/s to respect the reqd constraints.
      I am glad to note that I haven't forgotten A320 inspite of retiring 8 years ago.

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  11 месяцев назад

      This button when guarded keeps the cabin oxygen masks system in auto, when pushed it stops the masks from deploying when you land at a high altitude where the elevation is 14000 feet to 16000 feet, The masks will still deploy if the cabin altitude exceeds 16000 feet.
      A lot has changed in the Airbus in terms of procedures since 2015 but it’s still an amazing aircraft to fly
