I wonder if this hatch has any less rear legroom than the cramped Corolla hatch. In any case, we can add the Mazda Yaris hatch to the list that already included the Mazda Yaris sedan, Magna Steyr Supra and Subaru 86. #NotMadeByToyota
But the 86 was Toyota's idea while Subaru wants no part of it it took them a few crucial year to get them on board but styling, tech, etc it's all Toyota. Even do it was built on a Subaru Factory
It may be more fun driving the new Yaris than Honda fit but most of the market audience at this price range is going to choose practicality and cargo space over handling.
It’s very much Mazda 2 , finally a Toyota fun to drive
Test drive the Corolla Hatchback, you will retract that statement
well thank you toyota for selling the mazda 2 in the U.S and canada your a good sport! oh yeah thanks for selling the BMW supera too you make us toyota fans very happy to buy a toyota product....
"cab forward"? Is that like a nice way to say ass backwards?
1:35 LOL HE MADE THEM SO AWKWARD 👌😂
Does this have a Toyota powertrain?
I used to own the IA sedan. It was really fun and agile in the turns. While the rest of the world the Mazda 2 has Mazdas G vectoring steering and America gets a water downed rebadged fugly Mazda 2. Yay!
Micah: you are the best dude!
PS: This is a Mazda 2 by all means
In Europe we call this the Mazda2, but the Mazda looks much better. There is also a sedan version of the 2.
This will definitely not be as reliable long term as the outgoing Yaris (it’s a Mazda. They’ve never had good long term durability to begin with). Toyota, you let the Yaris nameplate go....
wtf are you talking about. Mazda is good in terms of reliability
I wonder if that's Mazda's soul red paint?
It's called Pulse. The Yaris Hatchback will use the same exterior colors of the 2019 Yaris sedan. It's unconfirmed if all the colors will be on the HB, but so far Pulse red and Sapphire blue are confirmed
I waited for so long for him to say Mazda2, I am disappointed
Its so different than our Yaris here 🤣
Compared to the cheap toyota yaris this mazda yaris is better
Micah, if people are desperately trying to get out of the way of the shot it probably means they don't want to be in the shot, you should respect that.
It's look like Mazda2 😲😲
Is there a reason to why I should buy this over the Mazda 2? :|
Toyota badges look cooler i guess.
Howdy, another great video!😸
Why not mentioning that is the mazda 2? Surprised it has Android auto? It is a mazda 2! Wondering how the 2020 yaris is going to be look like in Europe, here mazda sells it's mazda 2 for itself
Lol car reviews are better when Micah is presenting 😂
Finally reflector lenses.
Micah 😍
And the mazda 2 ahem yaris is hot
Excuse me if om wrong but that's a 2 a Mazda 2 with a new front end and Toyota badges
I got the 2017 Yaris iA as a first car. Great daily driver for college students, but now that I've graduated, I've grown out of it. The car is tiny and frustratingly slow, but the gas mileage is so good that I can't complain much.
Nice Mazda 2 Toyota!!
When is your new BMW gonna hit the market?
Seriously, are you still making cars or what?
Dat BMW pony is going to crush Toyota's reputation of reliability....
The Mazda 2 lives on, sad no stick
The Yaris sedan comes with the manual 6.
I’d to see what the new Honda Fit looks like before considering this one.
That’s a cool Mazda
My Honda Civic Hatchback Sport gets 46 MPG Highway and has 180 HP price is not that much higher why would anyone want this car over that
Mazda 2 with Toyota badges... But why?
No mention of the Mazda 2? 😂
JFCW it’s reliable
So it’s just the USA version of the Europe Mazda 2. It’s still a good looking car but this car has been around since 2015.
Great car except for the name. What is a Yaris anyway?
wow that’s a nice mazda!
This car is not a Toyota it's a Mazda 2 and it doesn't really fit in because we have a used Yaris
Being a Mazda. I'm sure it will be the best ... slow car to drive fast! I wonder why he didn't mention ''Mazda'' and that it is the hatch version of the little sedan that was previously the Scion IA.
Anyway, like this car, a lot.
This is Sooooo Demio!
That glued mini tablet on the dash again ... Why Toyota, why! I thought we had a good thing going on between us.
A Mazda 2 with a Toyota Badge!
Rather sad that it took Toyota to bring Mazda 2 to N. America, happy it is here though. I wonder how much cargo space could have been added if it was a cab backward design.
“Android Auto in a toyota, who knew?” Because its a Mazda and u didnt tell!
As is, there are several of the latest Toyotas that support Android Auto compatibility (including the new Highlander).
@@thecriticalthinkeroutsidet4947 all the 2020 Toyota models feature Android Auto compatibility. The Corolla sedan was the only vehicle unsupported, but it'll be re-released in October with the Nightshade update
@@Mason-qh6gi The Corolla sedan at launch won't have the update. The Hatchback does.
And I hope the Avalon will too ASAP.
Hay... That Mazda 2 here
Toyota 2 or Mazda Yaris
No one said Toyota...
All I could see was a Mazda 2
I don’t know why this guy keeps on calling this a Toyota Yaris when in reality it is a Mazda 2 with a Toyota label, a model that is over 5 years old. Toyota is trying to trick ppl telling them it’s a new Yaris. Meanwhile the UK gets the real Toyota Yaris 2020. I don’t know why Toyota is doing this with Mazda and the new Supra BMW.
I really want to get this and throw a turbo on it to make it have low 200hp and make it a auto cross weapon
Come on Toyota, up the power to 150 hp non turbo and really have something. If you can't figure it out, I will be glad to offer my assistance. It is a no brainer. Make it really a hoot to drive and at the same time retain all the usefulness .
Mazoyota or toyazda?
This is a Mazda 2 with a facelift headlights and a toyota badge
OMG! Tim!!!!! Micah, tell him I say Hi 👋🏽 lol
Small is beautiful
I don’t like the fact that automakers (not just Toyota) are making the infotainment systems look like afterthoughts by sticking a tablet screen smack on top of the dash. It even looks cheap as it is.
