This was another great one, I always appreciate when you mention Alan Watts! Today's comment reminded me of one of the lessons I learned from working with my father for over 25 years - he never let inexperience in a particular field stop him from trying something new, he never hesitated. We developed and managed properties in the golf industry, the marina industry and so many more, all from his "experience" as a humble lawyer. I had no experience in podcasting and media ten years ago, but have used the lessons learned in golf, tourism, property management, etc. in the world of media. Thanks for helping me remember!
You got a great point Rob. As a woodworker my business can go in many directions. And I'm constantly learning something new everyday. The one thing I would like to address is the fact that you would be taking notes and then reviewing them at the end of the month. I take notes all the time but I'm not reviewing them. But I do take screenshots of interesting things and articles. Anyways you ended the video talkin about the amount of time we spend on social media. I don't know if you remember the website Stumble Upon. But there's a few apps just like that. Where you have a broad range of interest and you just randomly explore one after another. Or you can stick to that one subject that you stumbled upon. And keep reading.
This is the first time I've seen one of your video's and your topic was perfect for me. I'm an inventor and I certainly spend more than an hour a day doing research for all the reasons you described in this video. I'm currently working on a project that if it work it will be transitional for my chosen industry and will be worth Billion because it's a world wide product that can have a customer base of hundreds of Billions dollars. But, you presentation made me float out of my chair because it confirmed I'm on the right track doing research of hundreds of companies the are DIFFERENT than my project . Just as important to me was your presentation is the best and I've watched in decades. Don't change a thing, Your delivery is perfect and I'll watch your videos every time I can. I'll try to emulate your style as best as I can.
