Not sure if you should take it off road either, don't know anything about that, but 7.8 inches of ground clearance is really good and hard to find in an EV. I will do what most people want, which is to allow you to sit higher up. I think that's why most people get SUV's, not to go off roading. That's my impression any way.
Lease or finance? What was your out the door price? Did the dealership offer any discounts, any kia cash discounts, or state ev incentives? How much down and at what apr? Monthly payment amount?
You can open it faster by doing so manually. The reason there's a delay is to confirm that the owner actually wants to open the liftgate and to avoid a mistaken interpretation. The automatic liftgate feature can also be turned off completely via the infotainment cluster.
My experience is that Kia cars are super reliable, on the level of Toyota, indeed. And If that isn't enough, you have up to 10 years of Kia warranty, a lot longer than most other brands.
@@hamsterbrigade We have three kids. We go out of town a lot. There is no way this EV KIa which at 80% in good weather at best has range of 250 miles (80%) will do. And charging infrastructure is lacking and then who wants to wait 30-40 minutes with kids even two hours for recharge. This is not practical. Add to that Pilot retains excellent resale value and it is a no brainer. We are going to keep the Pilot for 200,000 miles and ten years. This Kia will be trash in three years and unusable.
@paulm6481 it's not that bad on the road, it feels like a limo, quiet and fast, I love it, charge time is not bad man, it charges fast, went from Dallas to El Dorado Arkansas, made 2 stops 1 stop to eat and it charged to 90%, 2nd stop was 10 minutes, but you're right about the infrastructure, it's hit or miss.
Is 250 miles bad in one single charge ? With kids how long do you want to spend behind the wheels in a single stretch ? Brother your breaks will take longer than the charging that's what I had in our long drives.
Very nice job brother. I bought mine a week ago. I agree with your observations.

Love mine! Daily driver and two road trips already: it's fantastic, family loves it, and fuel is CHEAP!

Solid review my friend! I own this exact model and don't regret the decision one bit! I'm loving not having to full up at the gas station.
Thanks for watching, and congrats on your EV9!
Great video. Thanks

Did I miss if it had CarPlay or not? And how about a spare tire?
Yes, CarPlay. No spare.
Both Apple Carplay and Andoid Auto, newest versions.
Well done 👍🏻

Whats rhe towing capacity? Nvm. I saw it later in the video. When i commented you'd just said "increased towing capacity.". I was like..what is it? 🙂
The towing capacity is 5.500lb or 2.500kg in the AWD drive versions. In the RWD version it is 2.600lb or 1.200kg.
800v is class. Real nominal voltage is 550 odd.. list of features are good, but the real value is how they work in the real world.
They’re smart.

@@BeingKyleBusch18 This was not my car. It was on loan from Kia for review.
is it me or does the lift gate open slow af?

Nice, but wayyyy too expensive. Both upfront and for what's sure to be a very high depreciation rate
Why you talk like that brother? It's 2024, relax
I love this car so much for my senior dogs, but Kia and Hyundai are not known for reliability, so I’m worried about long term reliability

Rivian R1S > Kia EV9
EV9 wins on practicality, R!S on tech.
I recently purchased a Honda Pilot Touring AWD. This EV was not even a consideration. Pass.
Why not?
@hamsterbrigade cuz he preferred dull and outdated stuff.
