I wish I was lived with growth mindset earlier, but I got influenced with some people with fixed mindset.
Precious time wasted just because of believing that everything about me cannot be changed.
I wish I have used those time to improve.
But what about now? Now it is the time to improve. We are truly capable of change. Your choices are to improve yourself or do nothing. It's up to you.
Make sure that you always choose to follow your dreams and improve yourself.

sorry kids, you'll probably have to see this again in college. I'm getting a human services degree and we need this video for "personal effectiveness" class. I think he needs to include "visible or measurable success/improvement" as a step to growth, because that also encourages a person to try again at the same task or go on to a new one, as opposed to losing all hope and giving up.

Having a good mindset is a process...
I'm just speaking up for myself, when you are constantly worried about things that you need in life. It's a struggle. I will substance one thing to fulfi me, that makes it hard to concentrate.

  • @Dak3y

Viewing fixed and growth mindsets as black and white or us having either one or the other is harmful. The reality is that we exist on a mindset continuum and that we even lean more toward having a fixed or growth mindset in different areas of learning. Ah 7:11 - glad you make the point here. It's a critical one.

When reading about stoicism, you know that you have "the gift" (your body and nerve system and brain and its cognitive capacities) but you have also "the work" (learning, building skills, and experiences). Some believe the gift they got is enough and hate the work and stay in a fixed mindset. (most of the time they do the same kind of work the rest of their lives). People with a growth mindset are focused on the work to become the best version of themselves. (live long learning, doing and experimenting)

You can dip in anything and achieve from average to excellent..by building yourself and working hard..
But I think that “Burning Passion” about some particular thing varies from person to person which is quite incompatible. I won’t call it “Natural Talent” , but individual experiences to induce different motivation in different people.
    Does anyone agree!?

I believe that it’s worth the effort. Because if you don’t try you won’t get any results at all so you should at least make the effort of trying.
Another thing I feel that you some people are choosing not to try despite the level of technology and assitance that are available to them.
    Growth Midset.
Divisional Mindset: A person could face it difficult to win at something because they are physically built different say a PG vs C physically a PG might night be able to beat a Center in basketball unless he adapts to the growth midset that I need to practice to update my jump shot and three pointer where the Center has a hard time defending unless he gets from underneath the basket where the point guard gets blocked all the times.
A Fixed Mindset will never find a way to win because they are so quick to give up. Staying within the game develops awareness and experience that will help you find ways to defeat your obsticles and opponents.

These two "mindsets" are neither mutually exclusive nor encompass other mindsets that could be considered. I've read some of the research and I don't see how it can be measured that someone uses one growth mindset and fails. It seems to be a self-fulfilling definition that if you fail then you must not have used the growth mind-set.

    • @Kas-tle
      @Kas-tle 5 лет назад

Yeah good science is falsifiable... this isn't. When someone does not succeed you can easily rationalize it as the person not working hard enough, whereas when someone does you cite that as proof that hard work always prevails. In reality, there is just so much more at play, and such a binary view fails to take this into account. Whether socially convenient or not, for example, there is real evidence regarding heredity and intelligence that should also be considered. But then again I was just forced to watch this video for a class so I'm probably thinking about this way too much.

Does a fixed mindset (i.e. believe that skill and intelligence is set) truly exist? Or, is it that people with "fixed" mind sets are just not interested in learning and developing? In other words, they would understand that skill and intelligence can be improved upon, but, are unwilling to do the work required to improve
