After recording this, I realised why that reverse Ampharos wasn't in the best of condition. It's not originally mine. I bought it on eBay about 18 months ago. I would hope that if it had been with me for the last two decades, it would have fared better. Oh, and... Watchog. My least favourite Pokémon.
I fully agree with the sad obsession with card value and the role of RUclipsr. This mentality has trickled down to so many fans and RUclips viewers. So many amazing artworks go ignored. I’m not a nostalgic person in general but there was something special about collecting in the 90s for collecting purposes or playing. It might just be a reflection of t he world around us. The same herd mentality we observed causing the 2008 crisi, NFTs, and more. Coupled with the unhealthy pull rates that cause addiction and gambling behaviour (compare this to Japanese early sets) and you have a perfect storm. At this point I don’t see how I can continue in this hobby. I’ll finalise my earlier sets and move on until things improve. If they do. Tears of the Kingdom, since you mentioned it, is one of the few games that took me to a good place. What an ending. I have limited time these days but I was really happy to have spent time with it. None of this modern chaos. But don’t let these state of the world bring you down. Stay healthy and positive. I’m just taking a step back for the same reasons.
Thank you. Tears and Breath of The Wild are really the perfect games for me. No blood or genuine violence, just beautiful and immersive landscapes. There's nothing better than just foraging for mushrooms etc around Hyrule, to escape this world of horrors. That said, Elden Ring blows me away, despite the horror of it all and extreme violence. I think it's the visual beauty of it. When I started Gaming, it was on my Commodore PET with its 32kb of RAM, back in 1980. I would never imagine that I'd live to see the worlds of Hyrule, Elden Ring or Skyrim.
I really enjoy this channel because of its focus on the artwork and artists. Does anyone have any recommendations for RUclips channels with similar vibes?
I wrote a longer response about the state of the hobby and my feelings, like yours, but it failed to post for some reason, perhaps because I included the URL, or cuz you didn't like it. >_< So, if the suggestion is welcome, again, I suggest checking out the Elite Fourum forum. It's been around for a long time, all the best knowledge and positivity and serious discussion as well as pure hobby love of any PkMn TCG community. It helps me to just enjoy it, and is really the only place other than your channel that I consume content for this hobby. Cheers, bear!

Really enjoyed listening and impressed at how coherent you are without knowing what you are going to talk about.
You're the renaissance the hobby has longed for.
aww, bless you.

agreed! can't wait for this hype to die the fucc down so I can collect in peace. Love Kusjima from VS to ex Deoxys before the style shift
just the video I needed to get through the day. I adore our mutual appreciation for art over value.
Indeed. Mutual. You're a good man, Mr Kwik.
@saturninebear likewise, my friend.

PrimalLugia is certainly worth looking at. Oh, and OKJLuv is a genuine, lovely guy who really cares about the cards.
@@saturninebear Thanks, they're just what I was looking for!
GREAT cards! So much freakin' cool art in these eReader sets. Penultimate WOtC. Oooof! So good!
