I actually think the "free version" should be seen less as a free version and more as a demo. Because that's what it feels like. I feel its supposed to give new players a way to try out the game and see if they like it and then choose to buy the full game if they do like it. And in the event they might not have the money on hand at that point they can always keep playing the free version with their friends until they actually do.
Free version is free because free means you don’t pay. You don’t pay for the free version, making it free. Hope this helps anybody who doesn’t have a dictionary

@@EnbyFish yeah for sure, having ranked, casuals, lobbies and even grand bruise is a lot but, I've had friends that refuse to play it cus of the character rotation thing, expecting a "free to play" model, i should've taken a less anecdotal route in the video and focused on the positives more

The point of the free version is to populate the servers by getting more players. I don't know if it makes the game better if there are a bunch of players switching every week their mains or it just means there's less players at a time but the goal should still be the same. Just lock free to play out of cosmetics and characters unless they pay and lock them out of single player modes. But give them full access to everything in the multiplayer.
It's still wild to me that Djeeta isn't always unlocked by default like Gran. i know she's DLC from the previous version of the game; but its so weird that you can play her from second one for free in the mobile game lol side note; it was also weird Djeeta was DLC in the first game too lol
Isn't this better though. If they monetized the game more either: 1. You would just buy the full game so no point 2. They would leak the monetization to the full game which would anger people who paid full price
I'm not saying they should mix the 2 monetization models that would kill the game I'm was talking about if they went full free to play, this method is good too, and I wanted to make it clear that this was more of a trial version so people don't go in with expectations of a typical f2p But I unintentionally worded it in a more negative light without focusing on what the trial did amazingly well
Honestly i payed for this game the first time 59.99. They should of just made it an add on to those people who purchased everything like i did. I wont spend another 50 bucks on top of 200 or so i already spent on it. Such a slap in the face.
i got a good 50 hours out of the free version before buying the game. definitely the most generous monetization of a current fighting game even if it's more of a demo than a free to play game
Yeah that's the thing, a lot of people play this thinking it's like a normal free to play, it's a demo to advertise the full game but it kinda makes me think how it would be if it was fully free to play

For me personally shelling out like 50 buck while I also gifted my friends the previous game isn't a huge no no to me it should have been 20$ or at the very least allow the people who bought granblue choose at least one or two characters to keep for their undying support of the game now I am just stuck here waiting for cagliostro to go on free rotation just to play

Screw it, lets put everything behind a gatcha. $15 for 10 spins with a 0.5% chance of a weapon skin drop for a random character. Still sound good?

Yeah like others have said, it's more like the trial version. But at least you can play with those who have bought the game.
