    A good set of instructions here for a mildly 'fiddly' job. I was offered a few 'trinkets' when I ordered my Transalp, being (I think) the first to order in South Australia, in which I included these deflectors, which are - yes - ridiculously dear for what they are, and I may not have considered them if I'd had to pay that price for them (about $250 retail here for all four). The Honda parts include some black stickers to go on the 'screen beneath the upper deflectors, which meant the screen had to come off. Not a 'biggie', and allowed me to get it clean, now with 5,600 kms on mine.
    I can only think the stickers are about reducing some refracted light from the headlight, but no explanation is offered, and I haven't ridden it at night yet. I found it easier to mount the lower deflectors by removing the side panels, which again aren't difficult (not my first time) which made finding where the 'hook' on their lower edge engages. (I don't have the crash bars fitted). The stickers on mine were a full triangle of a VERY STICKY adhesive, as opposed to the strips in the video - you really only get one go at it, and the important detail, as TnT stressed, is lining up that edge.
    I probably should also mention that these items didn't come in for over four months from the time of ordering (deflectors and rally footrests) as apparently there is a run on these items, as I gather there has been for the actual bikes.
    As to the important question of "but do they work"? Well yes, they DO create a sort of bubble of still air, but the difference is subtle. Noticeable to me as I had just done a 200 km round trip to pick them up, then fitted them and tested them straight away, but it's not hugely obvious, and of course subject to wind conditions. So yes, they work, but it's not a 'night and day' change.
    Worth fitting if you got them cheaply, but probably not worth the full retail if money is an issue. My deflectors also came with four more rubber washers, which permitted me to fit one between the two pieces of perspex. The instructions for fitting (which come on-line) are fairly minimal, so this video is actually helpful even if you have the factory instructions.

      Thank you very much for the information above! It’s nice to know the video is useful and great to hear your experience 😊 Are up using a standard or taller screen?
      It is a simple job but as you say it is a little fiddly - I hope this video gives others a little info and confidence to be able to fit these themselves, instead of asking Honda to do so and having to pay for the fitting cost. Every little helps! 😂💰
      Personally I have found these to be very useful particularly with the taller screen. For those reading this comment and who haven’t seen it, here are my thoughts on these…

      I have stayed with the stock screen - I am just under 5' 10", and it seems sufficient. My other bikes' screens are lower than the stock Honda one, so I don't feel the need for the bigger one. The actual fitting of the deflectors is quite straightforward, but the Honda instructions are not. But I have worked on motorcycles for a very long time, so it was easy enough.
      The only tricky part really was working out which of the lower deflectors was which, as this wasn't obvious from the tiny on-line diagrams, or the actual parts, so you did well to highlight this aspect.

      @@patkennedy1 Thank you very much! To be honest, I was struggling to describe which deflectors goes on the right/left 😂
      I’m glad the stock screen is working for you! What other bikes do you have please? If you don’t mind me asking.

      The only others I keep registered are my old ('95) Cagiva Elefant 750, which has had a fair bit of alteration and lightening, and is a decent thing, and my 1098S Ducati, which I have extensively (expensively?) modified. It is on WSBK minimum weight, road registered. (I have done over 100,000 kms on that bike). I also have a 'project' 1198 and an old Ducati 500 Pantah.

      Hello 👋 Thank you for your comment. I believe mine are Smokey yes. They are the same colour as the genuine Honda ones.
      I haven’t yet seen a bike with the clear or black ones so unfortunately I’m not sure what these look like on a bike yet.
      What size screen are you using?

      @TyresNTorque I use the original extra long screen. These aren't very black I see , you can see inside them ? the original are also smoky ?

      @TyresNTorque  5 месяцев назад +1

      Me too, the combination of both the taller screen and wind deflectors is fantastic.
      No they are not black and yes you can see through / into them. I’m not sure what Honda class this as but my brother has these as an option extra from Honda on his bike, and they are the same shade/colour as mine 😊

      @Luk4s7St 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@TyresNTorque Sure. I paid around 64 USD with free shipment. They indeed look the same as original and are a very good quality. Surprisingly good! I wonder only if on the bike they really make any difference protecting from wind as internet opinions are not consistent.

      I plan on doing a review video soon, they must do something, I just hope it’s noticeable 🙏 Do you have the standard screen or the taller one?

    • @Luk4s7St
      @Luk4s7St 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@TyresNTorque A standard one. Not sure I like to look of the bike with high one. Additionally I rarely use highways where screen hight makes a real difference.

    • @TyresNTorque
      @TyresNTorque  10 месяцев назад

      I think there will be a bigger noticeable difference with the wind deflectors, using the standard screen compared to the taller screen, as the taller screen is also wider.
      I’m just under 6’3 so the taller screen is a must for me. The standard screen just seemed to push the wind into my eye line.
      I’m looking forward to seeing what the deflectors are like. When do you plan on fitting yours?
