wow, thanks Eleanor -- I call it a tone poem because of all the different emotions it goes through and different scenarios and landscapes it explores. thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed my piece!
I do offer lessons if you ever wanna have an hour long discussion about composition, your work, and your personal goals regarding your own composition. But the best advice I can give any composer, regardless of ability, age or level of clout is essentially walk before you run. write something you know first then add onto that knowledge by introducing new challenges and variables. This piece for tubas and euphoniums is a great example of that bit of advice. I'm a percussionist primarily but in high school I started learning other instruments out of curiosity and I was composing at the time so I wanted to really learn about the instruments to improve my orchestration ability. So I learned tuba and saxophone as my first secondary instruments...they seemed kind of easy so they were a suitable first challenge. I wrote this piece a little later and it was not that difficult to composer because I had an intimate knowledge of the instruments. I knew their strengths and weakness and what sounded good. if you want to keep chatting just send me a message on FB or email me through my website
@@AnthonyOTooleMusic actually I would love an hour lesson. I'm not sure when would be a good time, but once I'm able to find an apt time I'll tell you ASAP
Tuba Euphonium Ensembles are a beautiful creation.

i feel bad for first a second tuba, almost feels like it could be euph. but a cool piece either way
TheZomIBeBeast I agree. It is probably meant for F tubas looking at range so it wouldn’t be too bad in that case.
yeah F and Eb Tubas on the top tuba part
