Super nice video. I won yesterday my OTB game, no risky move, improving pieces till my opponent made several mistakes which allowed me to start the attack.
I think this is the best material on the web for amateurs to learn how to think and find moves during games. Some stuff out there will explain the details of moves that _were_ played, but rarely the reasoning behind which moves were _considered_ but _not_ played. And often this is done for GM games, which are for the most part not representative of amateur positions anyway.
That was an outstanding lesson. The method you outlined there is clear and easily remembered so I am sticking with it. BTW I played a game last night, just played sensible moves and it felt quite plodding at times and I did wonder, " is this right?". I kept doing it, won an exchange and a pawn, got into an end game, traded down, activated my King, nice and steady and I won. What amazed me was that the computer analysis had 0 blunders and 0 inaccuracies. I really was surprised as I thought that I must have been missing cunning lines! Thanks so much for your lessons. You really teach how to play chess. Radical!
Your videos have been super helpful for me. Eliminating bad moves and mistakes is half the battle. I played a game the other day with over 90% accuracy and I am a 950 ELO. You don’t always have to play the best move. Just play solid moves.
Thank you for this and your other game play videos. They teach many things but especially to stay calm and make smart moves = has given me great confidence.
I've been playing chess mostly relying on my intuition, with just a little knowledge of openings and some theory, but my rating has been unstable and fluctuates by about +-200 depending on my condition. I think this course will be really helpful! Thank you so much.
Nice video thnx. The thought process applied was very logical and I will use the CCT followed by pawn structure and piece optimisation for both myself and my opponent.
I would have liked to see you finish the game but it was very helpful none the less. Ive been playing chess for 2 months and had been struggling to beat the 1700 bot and i nearly had him because of this video but i blundered in the end game haha thanks for the vid
Great video, can I summertime this video to the phrase “ look for candidate attacking moves (cct) and look 3 moves ahead and if you don’t find any then try to improve position via pawn structure and piece activity?”
My chess puzzle rating is 2100 but I can't see this tactics while playing what should I do and how to practice tactics your website has 9 puzzles per topic

You don’t always have to play the best move. Just play solid moves.
That's incredible, means you understand the concept of solid moves!

Thanks! Haha I got more comments saying that 😅
Perfect video for me. Im 1800 in puzzles but only 500 in rapid.
Good luck with your chess improvement 🙂
Guys to practice this you will have to play longer time controls like 30 mins until it feels intuitive then you can play in blitz bullet or rapid
Good advice
@ thx

Yes that's correct
Nice one again, but please finish the games, my OCD cant handle it :P.

How to explore possible moves? How to get to the grey screen?
Against bots with no time control, and in daily gams you can do this by clicking 🔎icon bottom right on pc
What is pawn structure check?

@Pegasus-Chess 🙏
Why “check” gives you a candidate move?
Because checks are often the best moves as they can lead to follow up tactics, so you always need to calculate every check.
Wouldn't playing h6 here, giving you a tempo against the bishop, also give you a free luft for the king later in the game just in case?
Yes it's a move you can play for sure, I in general don't do this often as it's also weakening the Kingside pawn structure
@@Pegasus-Chess This time it looked (scary) unnecessary. Great to always recognize that back-rank.
