The look of joy & wonder on Philipp's face when he realized that the gate system was working---that was wonderful to see. It was fitting that he got to be first to use the doorbell! Well done, sir!
The main thing I learned from this channel is that if I ever want to have a gate to my house/garden I would 100 % outsource it and have it completely done by someone else, a professional :-D
We realized that Phillip is the smartest, intellectual genius in all the RUclips channels we watch. He should have his own channel so we can admire his cerebral prowess more.
I admit, when I saw that cupboard going into the hallway, I thought it looked awkward blocking the glass entry doors. Interested to see how you handle this.
Not surprised you took out the cupboard in that front entrance. To be honest, I felt it was making the entrance to tight and crowded. However, not being there it's hard to say. Glad you had it removed, and looking forward to seeing it's new appearance. That gate is a total nightmare! Philip has the patience of a saint! (Hopefully that's spelled correctly.) Congratulations on your new door bell!!
My husband and I lived on a sailboat for over a year. It was our infant son's first home. A great experience. However, like with a home, there were many unexpected and expensive cost for upkeep and repairs. So, our family prefers chartering a sailboat and leaving the headaches to the Captain and his crew.
I lived on a yacht for 5 years, around the Pacific and northern Australia. Endless maintenance and expense, chartering would be cheaper and easier! My son was born during that time.
I had a 22ft sailboat, sailing only in the bays of Lake Michigan. Boats are work and money pits. Charter for cruising and have a smaller boat for evening sails or an afternoon in the sun.
As a retired IT manage i appreciate the cable specifications. Thank you, Phillipp! Also, you could terminate the cable ends with RJ-45 male connecters and use a F/F connector block or a set of F/M connectors. The most professional way to do it is terminate the cable on a RJ-45 punch down block. 👍 The fact that the camera works, 👏👏👏
Common sense prevailed, chartering a boat for a boating holiday absolute better option 👍🏻 Glad despite Benoit's hand injuries he is still able to continue working 🙏 I'm proud of you too re doorbell 🥳
Bonjour Anna and Philipp, the gates are looking beautiful, the Grand entrance your Chateau deserves. Anna I am sure you and Benoit will get the boot room exactly the way you want it. "YAY" Philipp, good work on the gate electrics, I had no doubt in your abilities. The boat was not to be, and actually Philipp, this is a good time to buy, or even later in the season, better deal for next season. Well done. Love from N.Y.
“Hands off my bottom.” Words I have never spoken. 🍑 Great gate installation music today Philipp! Very French, very Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau.
Bravo Philipp🤩 There really is nothing that you can’t do renovating your beautiful chateau. How you managed to problem solve the cable issue is genius. You cracked me up when you admitted to Anna how much you love these problems to solve (not 😫) Loved Philipp’s input helping out with the removal of the entrance hall cupboard - response from Benoit’s assistant, ‘Get your hands off my bottom’ 🤣 Shame you missed out on the sailing boat. Perhaps it simply wasn’t meant to be. Ziggy is adorable more than ever!! Wishing you all another fabulous week 😊 Mary from rainy 🌧️ this week, Central East Coast of Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 🌧️
Wow! Well done, Philipp. Very impressive! I just love your sense of humor. Can’t wait to see the boot room all finished with paint and wallpaper. Sorry about the boat-wasn’t meant to be. Something better will come along Have a good week!
Well I didn't hold out much hope but well done Philip. Whilst Philip was working by the gates couldn't help but notice what a quiet village you live in no traffic just beautiful birdsong and scenery so peaceful
You should just get a soldering iron, they’re really easy to use. Oh also I think you’d find heat shrink really satisfying. You put it around the solder joints and then heat gun it and it shrinks to make a watertight seal
I'm surprised and how pleased I am that the doorbell works! I've worked on similar home projects, and I know how gratified Phillip must feel when something so complex goes right!
Oh how stinking cute!! Ziggy was so happy to see his friend Benoit!! When a dog lives you that much, must be a wonderful person. Absolutely loved the music in this video! When that electrical guy (lol) was digging, your soil looked like the red clay of Georgia here in the states. Can't wait to see the gates open for the first time! Take good care.
Well done Philipp, it works, and you have the pride and joy of a working door bell that you thought out, created and "built". Ingeniously clever. The "bootroom is coming together nicely even if furniture does have to be removed and installed elsewhere.
Out of all the chateaus this one is stunningly beautiful 😍 my favourite by far and the best about it these 2 people have worked thier butt's off to make it look like this ❤❤❤
You might think about putting some concrete or cobbles or tiles down around the columns, like a back splash or splash back, to stop the dirt from staining the columns.
Great job, Phillip! That was completely mind-boggling to set up! Well done! Sorry about the backdoor entry- way cupboard! Now what? Good to see dear Benoit is back up and able to do what he loves! I'm glad for him.
Philip, make sure all the cable entries of the boxes, including the end of the cables, are properly isolated. I learned it the hard way. Small juvenile slugs, 1 mm size, fried the electronics. They travelled around 30 m in the conduit. Hundreds.
Lesson of today - “How to install a door bell” 🛎 Job well done 👍🏼 And yes, I wondered why you did put the Schrank so close to the entry … glad to see it’s gone.
Phillip seems to have a knack of getting things working even when he gives the impression he’s unsure of what he’s doing, “because it’s unmanly to read the instructions”. 😂😂😂
10:42 that was good, he got me on this one. I have RUclips premium, so I normally skip through this, but the way he slid this advertisement in he’s getting good.
Love the cable salad 😂😂😂😂😂The joy and amazement on Philipp’s face realizing the door bell work was almost as cute as Ziggy 😍😍😍Love seeing Benoit and Vincent again. Always a laugh with them and Philipp around 😂😂😂The added light from removing the cupboard might mean you are going with the blue color of the wallpaper? Really enjoyed the vlog and thanks for sharing 😍😘
I don’t like it there. It’s imposing to the space and he needed to put those cables in some conduit or something more protective. Yikes, but yahoo! Doorbell worked brilliantly!
Phillipe, To tell you the truth, I am de - ligh - ted!!! that you’re fiiiiiinally finishing the chateaux gates! 🎊 🎉🥳🥳🥳. Congratulations!!. Let me say that I have been following your videos for sometime now and I am amazed the way you two get along...which is just as hard, if not 1000 fold harder, than rebuilding a chateaux. I love you both...and Benôit...and Ziggi!
It’s pretty incredible to watch Philipp dig those little trenches for the gate motor over and over. Where I live it would NOT be nearly so easy to dig even that shallow little line. Our soil is full of clay and rocks. 😅😅 Well done, Phillip! Your tenacity (and genius and good looks, of course) have paid off. And labels, yesss! Your future self will thank you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It must have hurt a bit to tweak the entrance, but I am very glad you did.
Ziggy's expression when asked to perform his trick matched Philipp's as he worked on his wiring. 😄 Since you live by the sea, are the girls good swimmers? Have they recovered from their trampoline escapade? So, so pleased to see Benoit back. He is universally loved 💖
The music is fabulous, ahhhhh, Mr. Benoit is there love it. Love Anna and Phillip realizing, things take time. Rome wasn't built in a day. Enjoy the journey.
😂😂😂❤ when he says, "because I really don't think it's acceptable for a man to be publicly seen reading instructions" (for installation, do I'll just be over here behind the scenes again!) 😂😂😂😂 That was on cue.
My goodness this is my second video that I watched on your channel the first one was when you put the cabinet in and I thought to myself how could someone with such fabulous taste and design sense put that cabinet right there so glad you're changing it
J'étais un peu étonnée de l'emplacement du placard devant la porte fenêtre . C'est Benoit qui doit être content!!Vous avez raison de changer.Bravo pour le montage de Philip!!
Hi Anna & Phillip, I'm so glad you are able to rethink the cabinet at the front door or is it the back door? Either way, the view in and out is no longer obstructed. The idea to add an umbrella rack or a space to put Phillip's walking stick is a great idea too. And for Phillip, the master electrician, cabinet maker and plumber...hahaha...to finally get the gate fully functioning is no less than a modern miracle. The best to you and your family always. Mark & Scott
The music playing while Philip was digging the trench reminded me of the soundtrack to a Pink Panther movie…could Philip be the next Inspector Clouseau?
Phillip I agree why don't companies supply a video, so much can be miss understood with those types of instruction booklets. It will be nice that the cupboard is removed, it did detract from your entrance doors. You have such a lovely home👍💜
Tres Bien Philip! That gate doorbell is an impressive achievement! On the matter of a sailboat… When you are an owner the maintenance is such a huge time commitment. There are coop type arrangements where members own several boats and a commodore is elected every year and the moorage and maintenance are managed by the members. This is gaining popularity here in BC. The smaller ownership groups mean it is relatively easy to get access to a boat when you want. Cheers.
Well done on all fronts. It’s not easy to have to acknowledge a mistake, but better to correct it, and bravo Philipp on getting the doorbell to function properly!
Oh great, you now have a stocker Anna!! ha!ha! Great job Philip, it's works! And poor Benoit and Vincent, having to take the cupboard out, but it does look more open with it not right against the door. Are you going to use it anywhere else? Can't wait for the gates to be done and installed; that will be great for you guys too. Have a wonderful week. (from Sandi)
I'm glad you decided to move the cupboard. It looks much nicer having the windows more visible.
@@paulawynne6420 I felt the same M. (NZ)
Yes, I love maximum light coming through
Yes, me too it seemed to take up too much space for a narrow entrance. But, I’m just a watcher here. 😁
The look of joy & wonder on Philipp's face when he realized that the gate system was working---that was wonderful to see. It was fitting that he got to be first to use the doorbell! Well done, sir!
Ziggy loves Benoit so much!! 😍😍🥰. Seeing those two makes my heart so happy!
Touched by the way Benoit greets Ziggy (and vice versa)! And that transition into the Squarespace "commercial" was clever.
The main thing I learned from this channel is that if I ever want to have a gate to my house/garden I would 100 % outsource it and have it completely done by someone else, a professional :-D

I'm proud of you too re doorbell 🥳
Phillip, what a great job! Lots of technical happenings and you made it work. You should feel proud.
Cable salad (kabel salat) is firmly entrenched in my vocabulary thanks to hearing Philip use it while doing the electrics before.
It’s second to my favorite cable/electronic word. “Bambusleitung”. A bamboo connection. Meaning a very weak internet connection.

I was nervous when he started making a label!! I know he's an electrical engineer, 🙃😂but wow! Benoit no more bandages? Wonderful! ☺❤

Right from the start this was not quite right. So glad you changed it. ❤
put sillicone around your doorbell pad , otherwise rainfall will enter and ...kaput
There's a gasket, he's fine
