- Camels have been used as beasts of burden for millennia and the creature is, in many ways, vastly more suited to the task than even the sturdiest of equids. For example, a typical camel can carry in excess of 300 kilos (661 lbs) of supplies without issue, more than twice the weight an average horse or mule could carry with similar distances/speeds.

The British Army had a Camel Corps in the Middle East. They have a memorial in Embankment Gardens in London.
Only Simon can say "Today we are going to talk about camels..." and have viewers interested in what he is going to say next.
The film "Hawmps" is a comedy about the use of camels by the U.S. Calvary.
Thanks. In memory of my cousin Sgt Lindsay McRae Field, 3rd Australian Battalion Imperial Camel Corps who was killed in action at Second Battle of Gaza, 19/4/17
Awww I am so sorry, I only just realized that you guys made this channel from the episode posted today on Today I Found Out. I love all your channels and hope that you can keep this one going as well. I enjoyed every video so far.
So hyped for this channel!
Finally! I’m so glad you guys got this up and running.
Love this new series folks thank you for the wonderful work you all do on this channel.
I was hoping for at least a tiny bit on their unusual evolution. Camels originally evolved for a climate comparable to what Siberia is like today. They didn't even have to change much - those same features that helped them in the cold and snow now help them in the heat and sand.
Bigger than the scope of this video, but maybe someday :)
Alright more Simon and learning. Cool
Love the new channel! ❤️
It's finally back
I'm so glad I found this channel after you plugged it at your last video but then when I got here I realized I was already subscribed. Lol
Please post more it's been a few weeks I love this channel
Hat's off to the Afghan and Pakistani Cameleers, along with the actual camels, who were an essential part of Australia's history. The Cameleers were the camel drivers/ handlers, who managed the beasts, so further exploration (and settlement) of the vast Australian interior could take place in the 19th century.
Very much like your videos. A pleasure to watch.

Its the south west amd central west US thats desert. Not the "south" which refers to the south east all the way to texas. Which only 1/4 of the western part of texas is desert. it does indeed get hot so the camal would definitly be advantageous. as well as the fact horses are usually scared of camals giving them an advantage as cavalry
I wished I knew about this channel in jan
That was interesting....
