@@chemfunman I heard you have to measure the sample at exactly 20 degrees Celsius, does that mean you have to cool the sample to that temperature before measuring?
This is probably I dumb question, but I am trying to determine the refractive index of a UV curable resin (commonly used for 3D printing). How should I change this procedure to determine its refractive index?
@@chemfunman Sorry, what i meant to say is that I will cure the resin into a solid, then try to measure its refractive index. How should I measure the refractive index of a solid? Also, thank you for the fast response!
@@chemfunman the scale has 2 parts, you said the upper one is to check RI and the lower one is to brix, what does that excttly mean. I couldn't understand. If I have to check only RI, should I only look at the upper part of scale
i was unable to find a best vedio to understand RI , but here i got it perfectly
Too kind, glad you liked it !
Thanks, I'm going to use it in the lab tomorrow and needed an introduction to the refractometer!
Good luck!
@@chemfunman Thanks!
what specifications of abbe refractometer to buy.. please guide sir
give me some choices to tell you?
Very useful video, thanks!
Great, you are most welcome! Enjoy and share the videos :)
That no scrubs joke killllllled me

Thank you, that was a good refresher :)
most welcome!

13Drumsticks it was done in a cool room
Thank you
It helped me to understand
thank you so much!!! your video is very helpful.
thanks!
Thanks for the video
Our pleasure!
Why the border line isn't coming up but blurred? Is it because prism surface problem?
Yes that’s a possibility.
Τhank you for creating such a useful video
Reza Faridi thank you for your appreciation, share the good words !
how about the thin film sample on glass substrate? and the multilayer thin film?
Yes that is right
?
@@chemfunman can you demo for thin film and multilayer? Thank you.
come back to you later@@najmiahradiah1806

change which procedure? may I clarify if you are asking how to check the refractive index of a solid resin?

@@benjaminford8173 Yes it is worthwhile to measure the refractive index. I would give it a go. Place the resin on the centre of the sample holder.
What is the lower scale for? Please clarify sir
Where? what's the time in the video
