When I filmed this back in summer, this model was about £19k on the used market. Now, I notice on AutoTrader they're as low as £13k! www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202307169707525 If you're looking for a used EV, this is a good bet!
The rapid depreciation of all EV's represents a real opportunity. I guess you will be looking for a new car now that ONTO is in administration. I would like to know what you are thinking. Time to get that Ionic 5 back ?
I bought that car 3 weeks ago for £14k (no idea why it remains up or why the price was cut by £750 after it was sold). I really like the way it drives, so smooth and quiet yet still feels reasonably 'connected' to drive. Seats are great too. I'm not finding the efficiency that good especially now it's colder, but within its range (120 miles or so) it's a lovely thing to drive. I had an e-208 as a courtesy car and immediately noticed how much less comfortable the ride is in that, driving them back to back. Even from £16k for a lower-mileage car they're very good value IMO given the comfort and practicality.
You are one of the few EV reviewers that goes into such great depth, that the viewer gets a real idea of what it is like to own the car. I bought my Fiat 500e two years ago following your extended test and it has not disappointed!

It’s a personal thing but sometimes you test drive a car and it just feels “right”. That’s what happened with the e-C4 after trying several of other EV’s. Sure the range isn’t outstanding (but more than enough for day to day) and the performance is average (but some of us aren’t boy racers any longer), it’s just a really comfortable practical car. Nearly two years on, no regrets.
Great to hear. That’s so true, and is why reviewing cars can be so difficult. I’ve never felt “right” in a Tesla for instance, which baffles some people completely when I tell them! 😀
Nice to see someone actually MEASURING the boot-space - as you said - litres are a meaningless dimension. With the back seats down it seems to be about the same size as the Berlingo van, which is JUST big enough for my purposes (another 10cm length would be nice!) - but hopefully a lot less insurance, as the van is considered to be a commercial vehicle.

Hey.. just a tip - your microphone placement / sound score contains tooo much bass compared to other youtube content.. i've got a studio setup so wow!.. the boom! lol...
That's interesting - thank you! I just listen on tinny Apple EarPods so bass is an alien concept to me!
I guess a RWD LFP version is unlikely sadly.
Ev Niro has a frunk and they have a hybrid version of it , love my Kia Niro it has way more extras than citroen give you
True! I forgot that had a frunk. My friend has just got a new Niro EV and she's very happy with it. I'm going to try and have a play in it soon.
Yes. I don't want the car 'helping' me drive either.
once you have driven a Tesla MY, you will realise how comfortable other cars are. Thats what ive experienced and echoed by other Tesla owners as well.
The suspension in the Y almost knocked my teeth out. 😀
We've had a model 3 LR for two years, build quality is shocking, rattles and window switch broken, that's after 14000 miles! Test drove a eC4 today, wow! Nice and smooth and rock solid, £17k for a 1200 mile Shine plus! Very tempting@@MrEV
Lane keep assist isn't for your country roads. You'll need T-800 Terminators for those.
Modern cars are like an inverted tardis. Big on the outside and small on the inside.
Good vid as always. Thank goodness our new model 3 highland you can just turn the lane keep off and it stays off, although so far when i have tried it, it seems to work ok.
Modern cars are such a pita. With the recent cold weather my cars windscreen started steaming up looked for the fan button couldn't even see it let alone press it or turn it, ended up having to stop, good job I wasn't on the motorway. All hidden away on a stupid touch display, would take a second to do without taking my eyes off the road in my old Fiat. It's not progress, it dangerous!
So true. Buttons are just safer.
My Citroen ë-C4 has a button for the windshield electric heating 🤗
I cant fault my ix3 for boot space, any other EV that i get has big boots to fill...if youll pardon the pun.
Please let it be great !.
Did you do 2 uploads in a day??
Maniac
I like to live dangerously.
Got wonder what would happen, if you had a tablet attached to the dash and the air bags activated.
Guess where the airbags are NOT located
"standard bullshit compartment" I love the honesty. Keep it up.
That front dash looked huge so I can see why Flaviana doesnt feel its very open. The spoiler thing looks a bit odd and seems to restrict the view rearward. Its almost as if the car is trying to cocoon you to make you feel safe by not letting you see the outside world. Tesla could do with some physical knobs & buttons. Im not a big enough fan-boy to not find certain things irritating.
Teslas would be perfect with a few more buttons. It's a shame they're going in the opposite direction.
LOL your wife is hilarious just like mine
Hi andrew why do you think ev's are bursting into flames ???? I WOULDN'T BE SPENDING NORTH OF 25K ON A CAR THAT MIGHT SPONTANEOUS EXPODE AND MIGHT TAKE MY HOUSE WITH IT AND THATS AFTER TRYING TO AFFORD THE INSURANCE !!!! I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR 34 YEARS AND NONE OF MY PETROL OR DIESEL CARS HAVE CAUGHT FIRE 😊😊
I know right? I know hundreds of EV drivers and ALL OF THEIR CARS HAVE BURST INTO FLAMES!!!! 😀
Terrible. I have a pellet burner and every time I turn it on, it bursts into flames.
My Mazda 6 sedan has more room in the trunk! That's so bad. We've moved to SUVs that are big but have no room in them, wtf
Time for a legal warning : no children were harmed making this video 😅
I have really not been impressed with the Stellantis EV’s. It’s like they are forced to do them.
The newer generation ones are a bit better but I agree these first generation have a bit of a compliance car feel about them. That said, Fiat's a Stellantis brand but they seem to have gone their own way with ground-up EVs so it's something specific to the shared platform Citroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall use.
I think these cars have a heat pump
They do, it’s very efficient too.
Litres arent meaningless if you have a known measurement to compare with. My Skoda Roomster was 450 litres and i got everything i wanted to in there. The boot on my Ioniq is bigger then you think and i can get my walking aid and five bags of shopping in so thats fine. 380 litres i know is not big enough to get my walker in so its a no from me...😏
Edit: 😂😂😂 i thought I'd check otherwise someones bound to pull me up with great hostility.... Turns out its 357 litres so I'll shut my gob and watch the rest of the vudeo where you show us what you can get in it! I just know the last Kona wouldnt fit my walker without a seat folded and I think that was the same size and shape as this...anyway lets go and be proved wrong!😂😂😂
Litres are fine if the shape is roughly the same but lumps and bumps in weird places can make it a meaningless measurement! The Kona's boot felt a bit smaller to this I thought?! As I say in the video though, the boot is deceptively average!
@@MrEV "deceptively average" love it! Turns out your measurements will be more useful, just have to measure the walker to see if it fits, brilliant! I'm with Flaviana on this one though, fed up with big looking cars with piddly boots.😄
Your wife is Italian, it seems.
Why don’t British people call frunks froots?
A few people have told me to say froot! Sometimes I do, but it sounds ridiculous! Since Tesla popularised frunks, I see no issue calling them that since they’re American.
What the monkeys is a frunkin froot ?
ma tua moglie è italiana :D
Sì!
No way a Virtue signaling car
I think the Mini style Heads up Display is really dumb, if you’re not going to project it onto the Windscreen then don’t do it at all.
Wrong! It works great!👍🏻
Like my ec4 a lot got comfort, kit and looks (imho).
Niggles are
Rear view esp after rain
Buttons to the right of steering wheel hard to see on road.
Piano black marks easily.
Worst is the app, a poor set up where commands can literally take hours to receive.
Was going to say the heater, used for first time yesterday is very poor until I remembered eco button was on.🤦
Stoopid
I find that apps are a real low point in most EVs.
Poor him ,I hope he's not married to her
I normally enjoy your reviews Andrew but not when they involve small annoying children trying to steal the show.
Not impressed by Stellantis at all. This car, Peugeot e308, etc are all priced around a Tesla Model Y in my country (Belgium) so it's a no brainer. Speed is average, interior is average, infotainment is average, range is average, price is high-ish...
Crappy interior if you ask me…
Ugly as Hell, prefer my 13 year old Citroen C5.
Like the front, hate bullshit floor lol and hate transmission tunnel. Why old usb a ffs. You can get cables now for all gadgets. Crap size boot. No thanks
