Payday 2 is so ahead of its time, it still nails the animation, the gunshot sounds and even the graphics are so good for its time, i really hope payday 3 will be a huge step up from payday 2
Not gonna lie, the new animations look really bad to me. Way too jittery, no weight, it feels like a third-person shooter getting a first-person mode. Hopefully these are just temporary, because as it stands these honestly just suck.
The only big difference in the animation I see comes from the recoil control. In Payday 2, the character is like a 12 year-old shooting his dad's gun for the first time. I agree that the punchy feeling is nice, but I think more reasonable recoil control is a welcome trade. Edit: Further into the video I can say for sure that Payday 2 had nicer reloads. The way he brings the "M302" vertical on the mag change is really cool. The tacticool muzzle-always-downrange reloads are kind of boring.
I wish there wasn't a trend in sound design regarding plastic sounding guns, bullets should bang or blap, they shouldn't sound like a 2L plastic bottle hitting a wall.
Neat, so instead of it feeling like Heat where your firearms are dealing fuck loads of damage and are capable of often magnificent firepower depending on the gun/caliber, like in the first and especially second PD, we got Call of Duty esque airsoft guns
How did they absolutely completely ruin the sound design? The punchy bass and the slight shake from the recoil with every round was what made PD2 finally feel so punchy. If I can pinpoint that with zero experience in sound design then I have no idea how people who’s JOB it is couldn’t do it…

@@AmelpsXett Absolutely not, the game felt different in all the right places and changed up very conventional game mechanics, such as not having a crosshair so you'd have to aim down sights or get a laser mod, how the armor worked, how the health worked, etc. The movement was simple enough without overcomplicating anything with unnecessary vaulting or dodging/sliding mechanics.
@@rightbehindyou9398 there is nothing groundbreaking about removing crosshairs, regenerating armor is just another regenerating health mechanic but balanced for long levels (heists) and there is nothing complicated about vaulting and sliding

Love how in PD3 the pump action is louder than its shots. Good ol' bang, CHIC-CHIK!, bang, CHIC-CHIK!
It’s mainly the greenish tint to the game that bugs me. 2 looks so bright and crisp where as 3 looks gloomy and sanded down. I’m sure it’ll still play great though.
payday got the kiwami treatment
Civillan: Jesus christ who is making all that noise outside?
Dallas:
Why does Payday 3 have Matrix color palette?
I don't know how I feel about this but Payday 3's animation has that "jittery" effect that was also present in BF2042
I think it has something to do with the amount of key frames within the animation but I don't know, I'm not sure what causes that jittery stuff
I knew that Payday 3 felt like the guns had no impact feeling...
PD3's reloads just look... off. They're to snappy, like someone cut some of the frames out of the reload and they're far to constructed. That and the tracers make the bullets look like they're moving slowly at about 200 feet per second.
Payday 2 animations really feel alive except a few while Payday 3's just look dead and stiff and less loud, really hope they improve on that
I’m rather satisfied that they’ve actually added in literal tactical reload animations in the third game
Payday tactic... nuh man
Bruh
Hmmm.... Military trained robbers? Sounds unlogical to me
@@sogachew2368 Would make sense for Chains to have such animations, since he literally is ex-military, but I guess it would be too much effort and manpower (which is limited, Overkill/Starbreeze being a small studio) to make unique animations for him.
@@sogachew2368robbers that don’t know how to use guns doesnt make any fucking sense. “Tactical reload” does not mean super high grade military reload. Its literally just a different stage of reloading
Another sequel soulless to its predecessor what a surprise
Why does the PD2 look and sound better than the PD3?
Payday 3 is a clear upgrade in graphics.
however in terms of sounds and animation it's a clear DOWNGRADE
As much as I wanna play the game..... I just feel like the guns have no kick to them anymore
the improvement of the piglet actually counting the reload when the next grenade goes in and not after you turn the chamber is a huge W
Wow, it’s not often that after a decade a games animations become worse. Payday 2 had everything better besides the grenades.
Payday 2's weapon reloads had a unique style to them, now it's just COD style reloads, shame.
Payday 2 gun sounds are just AWESOME
Always loved payday for weapons and animations, 2nd is still solid. Although they’d need to work a lil more for some new ones, like the revolver (especially aim shots are sorta stiff)
Payday2 or Payday3 hmmm????
Payday 1
payday 3 in my opinion
Payday 2. The sounds just feel way more impactful.
absolutely payday 2. Better animations, better sound design... better gameplay... better everything. The people who say that pd3 is better are just saying that they prefer COD lmao.
PAYDAY 3 plays a lot better tbh
everyone talking about the animation, me just thinking how superior and deep were the gunshot sounds
I like how the M4 looks in 3
Payday 3 coloring felt like you are wearing sunglasses...
Love that the reload animations now have a bit of camera movement, definitely makes it feel more visceral
Everyone who was waiting for this game praised it before its release, saying that all the mechanics (including the sound!) would be better - how do you like the game? Battlefield 2042 didn't teach you anything?
Payday 2 is so ahead of its time, it still nails the animation, the gunshot sounds and even the graphics are so good for its time, i really hope payday 3 will be a huge step up from payday 2
I like PAYDAY 3's weapons and effects, but I wish they had the sound of PAYDAY 2 guns and how they echoed in a way.
The tacticool muzzle-always-downrange reloads are kind of boring.
donwgrade in everyway, only thing imo was better was grenade launchers reload
Congratulations Payday, your reloads are now the same as everyone elses.
I hate how slow the pistol recoil is in pd3 I loved how snappy it was in pd2 looks way more realistic
Payday 2 animation, cold Calculator killer
Payday 3 animation overenthusiastic blockbuster actor.
This is going sound weird but PD2 has more “Bang!” of guns. while PD3 has more of the “Boom!” of guns
hopefully someone will make mods for the sounds
the camera shaking when reloading is literally nauseating. why do games do this.
There is a drop in quality, but not a massive one. The issue is that there shouldn't be a drop in a newer game, like wtf
The weapons sound a lot more mean and powerful in payday 2
I like the weapon firing sounds more in PD2. It feels punchy and loud.
How did they absolutely completely ruin the sound design? The punchy bass and the slight shake from the recoil with every round was what made PD2 finally feel so punchy. If I can pinpoint that with zero experience in sound design then I have no idea how people who’s JOB it is couldn’t do it…
I really hope they change the animations, I don't like the cod and battlefield mix, it reminds me of b4b
Nobody is mentioning how gutless the sounds are in PD3
Honestly I really like the feel of the new reload animations but the payday 2 ones are great
sound design is what makes PD2 are good, other than that the operator reloads rather slow
The Milkor M32A1 MGL (Piglet) actually has an ejector that could be used or just tip the GL back and the spent casings just drop out. I get they have to balance this but dang, just takes forever to load.
PD2 reloads are much more weighted and feel more satisfying. PD3 sounds and animations feel floaty and weak. Hope the animations get a step up!
Not a fan of how the gloves look in Payday 3. Should have made it like Payday 2.
If they don’t fix all the weapon sound design, animations, and recoil, the game will do terrible
payday 3 definitely lacks the style payday 2 has. the quality is all over the place
Fr, looks like an generic realistic shooter
@@RahRah2535 well pd2 was a generic realistic shooter too at the time it came out
@@AmelpsXetthell, i have seen that the echo on the weapons were loud as fuck like Battlefield 3
Saw someone point this out and it makes total sense. In Payday 2, the guns are being shot in a streetway with close buildings on both sides. In Payday 3, the guns are being shot in a giant open area. In my opinion, the guns should sound worse in an open environment than a closed one. Not sure that it changes much if at all but it certainly doesn't help
Modern games tend to soften the gun sounds and i hate it
I agree
I enjoyed PAYDAY2's intimidating gunshots and huge uncontrollable recoil as its own color.
However, PAYDAY3 has lost all its characteristics and has become a "common FPS" quality.
I was disappointed with the PD3 animations, I hope they are only test animations since it is a beta. I hope that one day they hire www.youtube.com/@Niphern/featured again
What concerns me, is that on release day, this game could have a very small variety of weapons and heists.
THEN, they will add more with dlcs "who knows when and the price of each one"
Don't screw it up OVERKILL, please...
8 heists on release and alot more guns that we had in the beta, and we likely wont get dlcs on launch day
There is 4 DLC heists confirmed to be released in the first year as well as weapon and tailor packs.
Not sure how many exactly, but I guess we'll see.
I like how the police on the street are like "Where the hell is this dude shooting from?!'
1:15 goofy ahh revolver recoil
Is it me or are the sounds worse, though?
Agreed, still love the punchier sound design in pd2
Everything was worse :(
1:20 okay this one is just bad
Is not that bad
It had delayed recoil action, thats why the gun looks like its delayed. It's just not good by any real standard today. It wobbles unrealistically THEN impulses from recoil like a second after the gun fired.@@WindowsDoor
hope the animations and sound will be updated in PD3 - cuz currently it felt from like... going from guns to toys xd
frag grenades really has frags inside, that's cool, but i hope they will update weapon animations... they look weird, i love pd2's weapons animations and sounds
I prefer sound punch in PD2
Shooting Sound Pay Day 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>infinite>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Shooting Sound Pay Day 3
I love how the frag granades actually look like FRAG granades
Payday 3 guns feel like they missing that oomph that PD2 had
What is it with all these modern games and their hideously slow recoil animations? It looks so floaty and weightless. Not to mention how slow the hammer and slide look on the Signature 40.
the animations were already very good in payday 2, payday 3 they adopted another style completely which i don't think look as good
I noticed the weapons felt like they have a major lack in punch when shooting along with some of the animations seeming not so polished and fluid as PD2. I do like how they have a sense of urgency for faster relaods as in a compat situation that's what will keep you alive but the smoothness and flow of PD2 seems so much nicer
