I fought him like 20 times and always died right after needing to do his reaction command of "The End?" I never realized that was an option until my last battle with him lol.
+TrollmasterAloJC It was perfect though, i remember feeling a bit of emotion during this fight, Roxas' story is pretty devastating when you think about it.
He was original an unfought boss in the original ps2 version of KHII. Until KFII2.5 Remix, he finally gets the boss fight he deserves. Something they should've done from the very beginning.
the best reason to absolutely love the KH games: Because of the plots and how each games matches the plot to unsolve more mysteries behind each character. Once you finish a game you have to play the next game to learn more about the past. Pure Epicness
It's funny when i read the comments and remember how old we were when we fell in love with this game. And how we still love it no matter how many tears we've shed, controllers we've thrown, and sighs of relief we had lol. And we are patiently waiting 6 years later for kh3 lmao #winning!!!
This is the best boss fight I had to suffer through in any video game ever...It pushed your knowledge of the gameplay mechanics to the edge, made you choose between chancing The End or clean finish, it was relentless and unforgiving and most importantly, due to FEELINGS portrayed, it made you feel special for even attempting it for the nth time.
roxas was able to spread happiness even after he merged with sora. in the aflterlife, he and axel and xion were still able to have fun. Roxas has emotions, and he also makes them. when Roxas goes to duel sora, axel even cries.
As I understood it, Unversed are negative emotions and thoughts manifested and controlled by Vanitas (as he said: When he and Ven were split into two, the negativity inside him took shape in these beings). Vanitas' Remnant on the other side,(who is a secret boss in Birth by Sleep) is what was left of Vanitas when he was defeated; all that remained of his powerful thoughts and feelings, so he can be considered an Unversed, but not Vanitas as a whole. I hope I could clear things up :)
Floweraise Roxas technically does have a heart though this is just my theroy I belive is because Ventus's was heart may have been inside of Roxas for a while and this might also be why Roxas looks like Ven and not just because Sora and ven's heart is connected
ash64181 I know this is late but Roxas only inherited Ventuses appearance. The reason he was able to feel emotions and stuff was because he developed his own heart.
I've been playing through all of KH for the first time, and a couple months ago I started with 358/2 Days first. Once I got to this point in KH2 last night and this song started playing, I instantly recognized it from the ending of 358/2, when the memory of Xion is fading as she's talking to Roxas. So many chills, probably my favorite part of the series so far.
Sora originally wasn't chosen, but because of Ven's heart inside of him the keyblade came when he needed it. And yes Roxas can use it because Sora can.
i die a little inside when the flute comes on and leads it on up to the 'intense' part yet i cant seem to stay away from this song. Its so...sad yet very good
lyric for the flute part "in the darkne~ss I was alone then I met two people that became my lig~ht all I want is to be together with those two people and protect them but it seems impossible to me"
Agreed. Sora is the stereotypical purehearted good guy, a person with no real problems, a type of hero that was old long before anyone living today was even born. The other protagonists are much more realistic, even Ven, who's also supposed to be pure hearted, but dodged the cliche bullet that hit Sora. Such characters are alway much more interesting.
Aside the fact that Roxas acted like a zombie ('cause he was a newborn Nobody), he acted like a "Somebody" most of the time. Heck, he even shed tears over Xion's death!
when ever the flute comesin..i just get so damn depressed!!!!!! i dont know why, but the theme is so melancholy it just hurts inside!!!!!! poor roxas and everyone....
His clothing gave him special abilities that he was able to use through channeling the power of his friends. (Valor form from Goofy, Wisdom form from Donald, Master/Final form from the entire party.)
As Aqua said "If something happens, and Riku is about to get lost- or say he starts wandering down a dark path alone- you make sure to stay with him and keep him safe," Going on to say, "One keyblade is enough for any friendship." meaning that at that time Sora didn't have the keyblade himself. In 3D YX even says "So we did what the keyblade did and moved down the list"
Despite the troll, I'm gonna say this: ROXAS IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER CREATED! He's just so pure and innocent, but the opposite of it at the same time. If he doesn't have a heart, how are there SO MANY FEELS? ;^;
Well for Sora, oathkeeper is Kairi's good luck charm because she gave it to him as he made a promise to come back to her, while oblivian is a black crown because it's meant to represent Sora's anger, making it his "dark side". For Roxas, oathkeeper was made from the seashells Xion brought Roxas in his coma, for oblivian (speculation) it's because Roxas is meant to represent Sora's darkness personified
No, at the end of Terranort's fight with Aqua at Radiant Garden, Terra momentarily regained control and stabbed himself with Xehanort's keyblade, locking away both of their collective memory, powers, and experiences. Meaning that not only did Terranort forget being either of them, he also lost the ability to weild a keyblade.
In the end, the final conclusion between the two was one of the most climactic moments in the game. The two parts of a whole, who had been separated for so long, neither of them knowing who the other was really. They fought hard, and only one could move on from there. Roxas joined back into Sora, knowing that Sora was the better man, and together they were stronger. He knew he could place his faith on Sora's shoulders, to end what he started, stop Organization XIII and save the worlds.
actually, I believe Sora's keyblade is his own, as sheltering Ven's heart makes him a wielder. Riku's passed on keyblade is way to dawn, even though it's a keyblade of darkness
Roxas uses Sora's and Ventus' Keyblades, meaning two versions/copies of Sora's Keyblade were present in the battle between Roxas and Sora, which was only possible since they were in a heart station (apparently anything can happen in a heart station, as that scenario otherwise doesn't make any sense, since Roxas has no Keyblade of his own since he's a Nobody. (Outside of a heart station, Sora and Roxas would've been struggling for control over Sora's Keyblade while fighting)).
Sora and Ven are two very different people. Roxas looks like Ven because of Ven' s heart inside Sora. Sora wields Ven's keyblade and Roxa has his own and Sora's I think. This is why Sora is the protagonist, because so many hearts and lives are connected to his and he needs to free them and give them peace.
Look at the end of the final fight in Kingdom Hearts 2, sora dual wielded his and riku's blade to defeat Xemnas, the way the second blade was held by sora was the same way Ven held his keyblade so ven was always there, if you take out the pure logic and the idea that roxas is there, then im pretty sure sora could but didn't want to dual wield. Sora, ven, and Roxas are the same person, thats the reason why roxas looks like ven, vanitas is trying to recreate himself within the darkness of sora
terra gave riku the gift of the keyblade ability, so did aqua to kiari, ven is inside sora resting which is why sora can use the key blade, roxas only got his dual keyblades after xion died, one was oath keeper the other was oblivion, also we know that at the end of kh2 xemnas uses the weapons of all the nobodies who wear coats therefore roxas uses not only his own key blade but xions keyblade as well, and the he went inside sora so now sora has his own keyblade and xions keyblade
thing is we don't know that, square is very very good at keeping us in the dark. and with the way the story is going, we don't know if in the next game they will be able to fight him and beat him finally. xehanort is a really good villain that has everything figured out. i mean, look at how dream drop ended. he may have more things on the wings that we are very unaware.
gotta love roxas sora had KH1, KH2, chain of memories, recoded and yet in the first few days at the start of KH2, everyone loves roxas more than sora ^^ and damn straight they should, roxas FTW, long live the keys of destiny!
oathkeeper, in my opinion, represents Roxas's promise to the "Kairi-Xion", as she took the memories of Kairi. Oblivion is the pure power that Xion returned to Roxas.
his keyblade back. Roxas can use both of Sora's keyblades. But Xions presence kept him from using his full power.Once she was gone, Roxas was able use Oathkeeper (because of the promise he made to her as she died) and Oblivion (because of her death and lack of existense). They represent Kairi because of Sora's promise to her and Riku because of Sora's anger towards him for kidnapping Kiari and falling to the darkness. Some keyblades are just triggered by strong emotion.
roxas was supposedly able to duel wield (use the synch blade ability) before he absorbed xion. but that was back before she even would have existed and at that time roxas was like a zombie. sora has regained the ability to use the synch blade at the time he absorbed roxas back so it makes perfect sense why he did against xemnas. sora freakin triple wielded for gods sake. (however that was in a heart station so its questionable whether he could actually do it out of the heart station)
I love how the main character of the series shouldn't even be able to wield a keyblade normally, and is only able to because of his connections with true keyblade wielders. It makes it less cliche.
However for a brief time (like 3 seconds) Sora holds Riku's keyblade awell as his own during the final fight with Xemnas. And during the fight with Roxas in KH2FM+, Sora steals two keyblades during a reaction command. Not sure about some people but this is enough to convince me he can dual wield legit.
@MarkJJ92 since Roxas has Ventus's heart in him he has all the capabilites of a person, aside from being formed like a regular nobody. He has his own keyblade, while Xion could only use Ventus's keyblade while she leeched off of Roxas's power. If Roxas didn't come from Sora, then he would have no way of using a keyblade (this is why it is theorized that Xemnas and Ansem SOD had latent keyblade wielding abilities due to them being from Xehanort). Only one could use it at a time, if at all.
They've been coming out with so many games for the ds, and other hand-held systems, but i don't seem to pick them up, they should make a game for an actual system where it brings Roxas back and takes all of those games where they explained his story and put it into that one game. Who agrees?
No, the Final Mix versions of the games are only available in Japan. If you really want it, you'll have to import (or look on ebay) it, as well as a Japanese PS2 to be able to play.
@Scythe2279 Wrong. Read the Ultimanias written by Nomura himself. Ven's sleeping heart was in Roxas, that's why they look the same. Roxas is Sora's body and soul, which allows him to use Sora's Keyblade. When Xion died the sadness woke up Ven's heart and allows him to use Ven's Keyblade.
That doesn't matter for its canonicity; It was confirmed by Tetsuya Nomura himself that the MF fight is canon and occurs at a specific time in the respective character's story.
okay i hope this clears anything up the only reason why roxas could dual wield was because he had a part of sora and ventus AND he also wanted to protect and honor his friends and Xion's wish so the only real reason he could dual wield was because he had a strong "heart" to protect his friends.
Let me put this dual wielding stuff to rest. Sora can use two keyblades because Ventus' heart resides in Soras. That gives him one. Also, Aqua gave him the power to sieze Riku's keyblade if he started walking down a dark path. That gives him two. However, he couldn't use Ven's because his heart and powers were sleeping to recover. Once Riku surrendered to the darkness, Sora obtained his keyblade. His drive forms allow him to unlock his true power, giving him both keyblades even after Riku got...
(continued) So, Sora isn't a tri-wielder, just a dual-wielder that also uses Ventus' Keyblade (which he can only wield because Roxas, who is able to use Ventus' Keyblade, merged with him at the end of KH2).
ACTUALLLLYYYY Sora could duel wield Keyblades the whole time. BECAUSE Ven's heart was inside him and His own heart was just strong enough to do it. And the Keyblade of light itself at that Nomura confirmed it
If your not crying from the difficulty... You're crying from this song
and what if is from both? yeah it was sad , emotinal, hard . I would probably fell i tear if was comepletly alone in the room.

Imagine if Roxas was forever gone after this bossfight, man that would've been extremely sad. But a fate I wouldn't have minded he had.

you can fight roxas on the ps2 final mix vertion
Assuming you had an International copy of it. Final Mix on PS2 never came out in North America.
woah... i had no idea

Roxas is just so badass that his fight music needs to be chill to compensate
Right, because the fact that he "mysteriously" gains another kingdom key doesn't say otherwise, all the more reason why it's a real keyblade.
