What an amazing video, angles are perfect sound is great and can see everything perfectly without any confusion. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I bought a whole new master switch that still didn’t worked, found this video and realized that I had a broken cable, repaired it now all of my windows work. Thanks for the advice!
Glad to help , thanks for the comment
Love this channel, my father in law has the exact same vehicle and your playlist on this is extremely helpful 👍
Nice one , glad it helps 🙌👍
Great work buddy 👏🔧
Thanks mate 😃👌
That’s a quality repair bud.
👍 thanks Kev
Finally the video I been searching for, I knew it was the harness that was the issue. Looks like it's going to be a long day for me. Thank you for uploading the Audi b7 fans appreciate it 🫡
👍👍
I had the same problem I solved it thanks to you😊😊😊
Great work.
Thanks!
I've always wondered the correct method for removing the spade conenctors from the terminal block. Those soldier connectors are brilliant, saves messing around with soldering the wires and using heat shrink.
Yeah I really like using them mate, makes a nice repair 👍
Nic work sir
Thanks mate 👍👍
Hi mate I had similar problem with my Nissan years ago ,My back lights stopped working, because the wires broke at the tailgate loom , thanks for your videos,
Thanks 👍 quite a few cars suffer with broken wires in the joints 👌
I did the same job on a Skoda Fabia for a friend of mine. He had had the car repaired previously by an alleged mechanic, who repaired it using terminal blocks. You can imagine the carnage that was left behind. I am not sure why this affects the VAG group so much. Great video as usual. Are you working in your own time to make these informative videos?. You do realise that you are costing me a fortune in tools, as every time you list the tools they go straight on my Ebay account. 😆😆😅
Haha I’ve never come across that before! What a bodge 🤣.. speaking of bodges.. had a Picasso in today .. violently pulling to the left and knocking .. just had a suspension arm fitted at another garage .. turned out they had used a normal bolt inplace of the pinch bolt (without a shank) and it wasn’t grabbing the ball joint at all! You could literally pull it out by hand 🙈🤣. Some of the short / basic videos are done in works time but most are done at night in my spare time.. hahaha you can never have enough tools 🤣🤣
@@diydaly Thats really scary😆😆
Hi mate I suspect my harness has broken on my b7 , I have the ability to open the window / speakers work. But door will not unlock/lock and wing mirror stopped working. Anyway I can unlock the door to get to the harness ? The door won’t open from inside/out.
Arr right that’s a pain 😖 will it not unlock from the outside with the key then?
on my b7, everything works from windows, locks, mirrors, but the remote locking will not, connected to the diagnostics, everything is properly activated, every programming method has been tried, but the remote will not work again
Very nice repair ( the terminal kit is that the same kit which is link in description )
Thanks , yes it is Mate 👍
This is a very helpful tutorial, many thanks. Your repair is comprehensive though, and you are right about splicing the wiring further away from the original breaking points to reduce stress on the joints again, but I would just rejoin the wires with butt splice joints instead of de pinning etc to save time and I haven't got the special tools either. Will the harness connection block fit through the opposite end (door side) of the rubber boot easily enough or is it a tight squeeze?
Thanks! Yeah it fits through ok but is abit tight mate 👍
@@diydaly Thank you, will have a go at this repair on Friday. I just peeled back the rubber boot from the body, had a look and 2 of the wires are broken so this needs doing. Thanks for the upload it's very helpful.
@@1980extremeG 👍👌
@@diydaly All done! The hardest bit was getting that bloody rubber boot through the hole in the door! I repaired the 2 broken wires with butt splice joints which was a bit tricky, would probably have been easier to solder them in hindsight but nevermind it's all done now, the airbag warning light has disappeared from the dash. Thanks once again for the upload.
@@1980extremeG nice one , thanks for the update! Glad to hear you got it sorted
Hi Mate, i did the same repair to my a3 but after I connected everything up, the driver door has no power now. The central working still works but everything else doesn't so I'm confused
The door card connection is fitted snugly as well
Have you checked all the fuses , may have shorted one of the wires and blown a fuse
Checked the fuse and refitted everything and it seems to work now, thanks!

What gauge is the speaker wire for Audi RS4 b7?
Not sure tbh mate
Hi m8 great video as usual. Today I removed the front seats out of my audi a3 1.9 tdi 55 reg in order to give it a good clean. I didn't disconnect the negative from the battery. I disconnected the connectors underneath the seats a yellow and a black one however under the driver seat I lost the cable guide connector and just couldn't find it. Now since then I have the red air bags light on the dashboard as well as the driver side electric window not working. I have disconnected the rubber boot at the side pulling the connector out as you did. There are 2 wires that seem to have a cut on them but they are not broken. It also seems that door swtich is clicking when I press the button. Obviously an indication that the current is getting there.
Do you think it is related to cable guide which I have lost as because of its absences there seem to be a gentle push on the connectors. I also checked the continuity with my multimeter on the door panel plug. The top thicker wire doesn't seem to have the continuity. As I said there is a cut on it and its not broken
Hmm seems odd , have your cleared all the faults codes..? If not you will need to clear all the fault codes first
@@diydaly not yet
I don't have a diagnostic tool. Need to get one first
@DIYDaly I have tried my little obd2 scanner tool which I use on my phone and it says there is no code on ecu
@@mumtazzafar5696 problem is that will only be reading the engine ecu, you’ll need a more advanced scan tool
@DIYDaly thats it m8. I could probably buy a vag vcs something like that from ebay. I've also seen a video where the guy wiggled the connectors under the seat and it did the trick. May be its not sitting in properly and its the passenger side airbag thats on. More concerned about the front driver door as the window is not working. Will take the door card off in next few days to check the wiring.
Can you not replace whole loom or is that major work
You can but it’s mega expensive
@diydaly OK thanks for reply broke my wrist cannot to fiddly work.
I did the same but Airbag light came on and not going away .
Anyone figure out where to source smaller terminals?
ebay.us/u6remb this is the set I used mate , I ordered a couple of the tiny ones from the dealer , then the rest from this set , couldn’t find the smallest ones anywhere else
@@diydalyThe link is dead :( Can you give a size or what says on the box, for both sizes? Thank you so much!
