The drums do sound close to a dr 110 or tr 606 or maybe even a pb-300. Great video i was curious on this unit! And props to Alex ball for the guest spot. Hes a truly humble guy!
Ah, some of the jams I mentioned in my earlier comment definitely came from this model. Others were definitely the 810 though. But I bet the chiptune-y sound was memories of this one. They definitely play nice together, I especially like your adding in extra VCFs.
I have the CMU800 for about 20 years now. Never really used it as I find the preset sounds to be pretty boring. Any known mods that would allow altering these sounds? (i.e Filters, Envs LFOs etc...) I have the same Midi addon. I also have the original adapter card and the software on 5.25" floppies. I think the card can be used in two ways, probably compatible with both Apple IIc and C64 (?). I just got a Commodore 64 and will have to try this some time ;)
I don’t know any mods for the sound themselves but doing what I do it the video, sending each sounds through different filters and effects (modular or not of course) can get you great results. Let me know if you want to let go of this I might be tempted to;-)

Such odd ball little units. I've still actually never seen either in the flesh.
Sound good in your hands.
Many thanks sir ;-)
Mad man work in progress! 😎

Glad it was useful, indeed Alex was very nice to participate.

of course... have you heard of their cv mixer?
I saw one of these on Ebay recently, seems like a weird piece of gear as well!
I love this series. This unit is like an even more weird MKS-7.
