Abandoned Overstone Hall Ft.

- I have always wanted to have a mooch at Overstone Hall as its close to home, so finally we did.
Jamie Brady states "So we had a look around what remains of this derelict 19th century grand country house. It was largely destroyed by fire in 2002, but parts of it continued to be used until around 2010 or so when it was abandoned completely.
Plans were afoot to redevelop the building into luxury apartments, and security measures were put in place, but these are no longer in place, as you'll see. It would take millions to bring this once grand building back into use and I think the developer has probably realised this and left it to rot.

Just been here today what an adventure the tunnels were so excitinf
Them tunnels are amazing bud. My video really doesn't do it justice
That was very easy to get in. Sure last year it still had security onsite.
There was an Overstone vilage group trying to save this place as think the guy whose building the big housing estate in Overstone now owns it.
Wasn't it once used as a school and then an old folks home.
Hope one day it get restored to its former glory like Kirby Hall. Oooh I didn't know it had tunnels, how cool! 😀
The narrow stairs will probably be for the servants.
Yh more than likely
Great video.
Thank you
Very brave - thought I was watching some scenes from the Blair Witch Project! Kirby Hall near Corby is another Northants ruined mansion, but this has been stabilized and is open to the public.
Yh I have been there once and I want to go again with my mum to film. Home of sir Christopher Hatton
Awesome video Purps & @wombled. My brother and I might need to check this out
Definitely worth it. Just be safe and careful. One boulder on ya noggin and that will be you in one of our beautiful cemeteries.
Friends of Overstone Hall are holding a public meeting on 1st June at Overstone Village Hall 2 - 5 pm. Please come along to support us prevent this beautiful Hall from being demolished.
nice one lads
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Epic video. My dad lived not far from there, I remember him telling me about the fire. Sad to see it in the state it's in now.
It is sad. I would have loved to see it the way it once looked
My old stopping grounds from when i was a teen . I left Wellingborough when i was 17 but im born and breed Northamptonshire . I know where this is as well , might have a look the next time im back in Northamptonshire . Cool video thanks .
You're welcome. Definitely worth a look in
My goodness! Is this the Hall at Overstone Park? As a child I used to cycle to the swimming pool in the summer, and went to a dinner & dance within the Hall just before the Millennium
How do u get there
Hi purple💜x Jamie 👋. Wouldn't want to go round there at night 👻👻👻
Me neither
It had a major fire in 2001 and unfortunately another today
The church sold it in I think 2017
I used to scrump apples and pears from the grounds as a kid with friends. We got caught once and told them we were just admiring the building for an RE project 😂 this was back in the early 90s.
We're is this?
Google it
Couldn't get near it when I went, was a woman sat outside in a security van with a dog who told us to go.
Yh I think the land owner has walked away
Breaks my heart that it's just being left to fall down. I feel daft like that over Lyvedon which was never even finished too! I just think: Give me a massive lottery win and we'll get these buildings back up to snuff. Or at least how they were supposed to be - would be great tourism draws for the county eh? Get a load of this pic: www.overstoneschool.co.uk/Images/Overstone%20on%20fire.jpg
and a good source of info: www.overstoneschool.co.uk/Photos.htm
I hope you win now 😂
@@PurpleVision23 If I do I hope you'll be there to cover it! :)
I think I'm right, back in the 1970s it used to be a posh girls school.
Yes it was.
