I stripped an old 15"x12 Slingy marching snare with a heat gun. The old gold glitter wrap was celluloid type and almost burst into flames a few times. It burns like a flare. I ended up with a nice 15" floor tom. Great restoration videos.
@@shawnsdrumcave you’re welcome. Seems like each video gets better and better. Personally I like 3-7 minute videos. I think the algorithm wants you to have 10 minute videos, but sometimes I don’t want to watch 10 minutes of anyone… lol.
@@geoffcowan2384 thanks man! Yeah I have no idea what the algorithm wants, I'm just doing this for fun but also want to make something watchable for others. Like I said I appreciate the feedback!
@@shawnsdrumcave I live in mass too and I'm trying to find someone to re-do edges on my radio kings. if not you, can you recommend someone? thanks either way.

Another great video.
Thank you!
I've plugged a couple of holes myself... lol
Truth 🤣
Thanks for the videos. I like this little “tips” video. Fits good with the longer “kit” videos.
@@geoffcowan2384 thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! I'm still kinda figuring this video stuff out haha what works for me and the viewer.

Great content! More videos showing how you restore vintage drums. Super helpful to us knuckleheads! Thanks!
Thanks man 🙏
Good tips! I’ve done mine indoors also.
A NEW VIDEO!
Welcome back👍🏼
Thank you 🙏
at times move the heat gun to the inside of the wrap to help warm up that old glue
Good suggestion 👍🏻
Nice vid Shawn. Enjoy watching your stuff. Would love to see the steps to come with this kit. Will you cut the bearing edges? Hope all is well?
I may end up cutting new edges on these and thanks! Everything is good hope it is with you as well!
hello - what brand of heat gun do you use? do you work on bearing edges too?
Think mine is a Milwaukee but any brand will work and I do! Only if they need it though! Thanks for watching!
@@shawnsdrumcave are you based in New England?
@@MrCharlieroo yes Massachusetts
