Saw you from Reddit, awesome video I really was happy to see microtechs HRC in an actual video and of someone really testing it. Can’t wait to see what you got next in this series😹
Welcome, I think tomorrow is a project x in magnacut. Hope you enjoy. I'm not taking the position to judge the numbers as much I'd like to just get them out there as I can. Thanks for watching. Means a lot !
@@apex_alchemy_knives can’t wait to see that one I EDC a project X so I really want to see that one, I also enjoyed your video on the fakes. Great comparison and commentary, learned something new😹
@@apex_alchemy_knives I heard that hinderers magnacut was being treated at a lower HRC so they switched back the s45vn which I guess they were heat treating better.
@@chezberger994 I've never heat treated stainless at all , but as far as I understand, s45vn can be brought to it's optimal spectrum without cryo. Adding Nitrogen tanks to the building might not even be an option where he's operating, or he might not wanna out the cash for thr system. I heard CRK moved back to s45vn as well. Smart move I would say. Make your knives out of materials you can work with.
I’m glad to see this. I’m tired of all of these RUclipsrs bashing Microtech heat treatments with no info to back it and all of the sheeple following behind spreading false data.
@@tacticalcenter8658 you act like you're pretty smart..I'm sure it won't take much for you to do your homework to see how loose the variance is on the best of these machines. Not to mention ..the sun shines on a dogs ass every once in awhile. If you're comparing me to someone who wasted your time with a leed tester that he admitted...the calibration block was between 55-60...well he's starting off with a 5 pt variable. Microtech means nothing to me. I have no stock in their success or their failures.
It looks like Microtech switched to M390mk for a reason. I also remember there was a test on the LTK channel, but there was a regular M390, the result shocked me, it was a little more than 58hrc.
M390 MORTAL KOMBAT [techno music vibes] That's not half-bad. I can't remember off hand what composition changes they made between M390 vs M398 vs M390MK but I don't remember it being toooo significant.
@@apex_alchemy_knives Snagged the last Stitch in stock with the natural aluminum config at NCblades' lay away program. All Gray with apocalyptic finished blade. Depleted knife budget this month with an Evo and pre-orders.
Got one of them also and been happy with it and it holds an edge just fine for me.
Seems like a fine blade to me brother

@@chezberger994 mine is 61-62 ..obviously not the greatest number in the world but I edc it too. 😎

Stick with us! more mucrotech to come in the future , thank you for watching
Its funny how you are the only one testing this brand over 60 and no one else has ever reached over 60 on m390mk.

@@apex_alchemy_knives no, I'm not talking about that one. I'm talking about several others who tested it low.
@@tacticalcenter8658 link me dude...I dont watch knife channels 😆

To this day several hardness tests were done on m390mk and none of them did over 60, most did 57-59
Great thanks! 😺⚔️👍🏻
Thank you 😎🤘

I figure it's likely to be minute as well.
Have you done any of the M390 from Chaves?
@@SlashGears sure have , I think it was 59 but the video is up somewhere. Chaves 229 redemption
@@apex_alchemy_knives Good to know Microtech hitting atleast 60. Will be purchasing my first Stitch next month.
@@SlashGears let me know how you like it. I've been looking at them too.
