Thanks Ford Tough! And thanks to Frank for sendi g in, as this was one of my future send batches if you run short. I guess 10V, even from China, is real deal. 👊

Knice! The entire Native series kicks butt - from the Li'l up through the Chief and Shaman. Thanks B&C!🤙

Hell yea man. I haven’t tested the Sheepdog yet. The other knife is a Sencut Glide Strike. More coming soon!👊🤘
@@WhatsthePOINT_EDC i sent the test results to your Instagram 😎🤘
I love me some Sheepdogs!! I have 1 XL, 2 regs & 5-7 Minis? 🤔 hell I can't remember! 😆 Thanks for sharing!
@@BolsteredBlades I've never handled a mini but the xl and standard are very comfortable in hand. 😎
That coating thing is random speculation. Ive worked with coatings in the firearms, aerospace and (tangentially) motorsports industries and haven't seen any proof of it being the case. Betterinsidethebox did an awesome study using 30+ knives and saw no evidence of it.
@@CNYKnifeNut excellent 👌

Looks good to me. IDK what ideal RHc would be for 10V but I'd be happy with that one.
The great thing about 10v is that (assuming competent HT) the difference in edge retention between 59 HRC and 65 HRC is less than 10%. Im not positive Kizer is competently heat treating them though. I've seen reports of them being decent, but my experience very much mirrors Gerald's (outpost76).
Love sheep dogs have a couple

Conclusion, “About as impressed with it as the bugout.” I get you really didn’t like the bugout, but no mention of the fact you could buy anywhere from 17-20 of these for the price of one bugout?!? You’re reviewing a $10 knife and are disappointed it’s only about as good as a knife 20 times the price. I’ve been collecting knives for 46 years and have always looked for that perfect combo of decent enough quality and low enough price to make the perfect “beater” knife for every day carry. I can honestly say nothing I have ever found even comes close to this. I think you’re missing the point entirely. This is not best knife ever made. It is CERTAINLY the best $10 knife ever made. That’s called making history, and Ozark Trail deserves credit for that!
@@thomassparks1476 18.7 ...and I urge you to make the video how you see fit. Thanks for stopping by
Wish AWT made scales for the Native Chief 😢
Love the Native’s! Just ordered a Native Chief salt pe. Super excited 🎉 Have many different Native 5’s. Great model 👍🏻
the knife itself is a iconic design ... answer to your question 81-to current 420HC edge retention SUCKKKKKKKKS no it is not a good work knife. 1902 - 1979 440c yes - moderate edge retention , smedium toughness. Buck custom shop - s35 , s30 , or other super steel - yes add a aftermarket thumbstud and your golden in any blade steel other than 420HC
@@anthonyrollins9825 lots of good info 👌
i have 2 and they are both great for $10. i think comparisons to $150 + knives is a bit stupid. That said, they do what a knife is supposed to do and do it well.
Nice looking knife and good hrc results. Thanks for sharing.
@@glockgaston2922 no problem my friend
I'd been waiting for you to do this since i know cbrx's testing methods are faulty.
@@Melkorify I like to think we are all doing our best to make sure the machine is reading exact...but there's only so much we can control.
Had to completely disassemble clean then reassemble and my blade play is gone. If u tighten the pivot it won't let the lock work properly unless u disassemble
At first i didnt realize that everyone on youtube was talking about how good a high knive flipped open and i was gonna get a knive that flipped good. Until i realized i needed the knive to cut shit. I still want a fancy one just to cut open tape on boxes but real shit im probably gonna get 1 of these
@@missyoujoel3275 it's worth the ten bucks. 2 monster energy drinks and a slim Jim is ten bucks....so I guess there's not much out there that isn't. It's surprisingly good for the money. With that said...there are way better knives for collecting purposes. A beater though...hard to beat it
They leave the salt series softer because it is more corrosion resistant at lower hrc values.
?? Corrosion resistance is supposed to be a side effect of the materials used to make the alloy. How does the rockwell effect the corrosion resistance ? Just curious...first I'm heading of this. Thanks for watching...and even if it's left a little softer...it's still harder than any other production MC I've tested. 😎✌️

@@shawnsadventures2852 thanks for watching good sir
Thanks a lot to ya'll for doing this! This is my knife, so I figured I'd answer the couple questions I saw in the comments - the scales are from Applied Weapons Technology and they're actually aluminum which is type III hardcoat anodized. The color there is not on their website, but you can order them through Knives Plus. As for the pivot, that isn't on Spyderco, I just prefer my back locks to be pretty tight because I don't flick them open, and I find that usually if one of Spyderco's back locks is loose enough to flick that it'll either have side to side or up and down play somewhere. I've got some compression locks or crossbar locks for my fidget needs; back locks I only really slow roll with my thumb. So long as they are easy to close one handed I don't loosen them up any further. Honestly glad to see where they landed on the HRC, as I actually prefer MagnaCut around ~62 HRC. Once you get above that into the 63-64 range, you really lose toughness much faster than you gain edge retention, and I have other knives in steels like K390 if I have heavy duty work loads to get done. My MagnaCut knives are for EDC knives I can always keep on me out here on the Pacific coast and not worry about corrosion wise while still getting a nicely balanced steel.
@@WallachGaming thank you for sending it. I very much appreciate getting to handle it. It feels great in hand. It feels solid , so I think you're on to something on the slow roll back lock. Awt did an excellent job with these scales. You have yourself a great blade here and I will get it back in the mail as quickly as possible. Thanks again
@@apex_alchemy_knives No problem! And yeah, AWT in my opinion does an amazing job with their anodizing and their milling accuracy, pretty much the only folks I go to for aftermarket scales nowadays.
Nice to see they're pretty consistent. Thanks for sharing y'all!
@@BolsteredBlades thanks for watching as always.

@@CNYKnifeNut 🤣🤣
Solid number, exactly what you'd expect from a top tier brand with a premium knife. In today's knife market, I'm more curious in how that knife, with premium materials and price from a top tier knife maker, got past QC with a sticky pivot. Try harder, do better Spyderco. Great content, thanks for sharing.
