They were doing this in 2015 at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was headed by Ralph Baric. Look up the article "Engineered bat virus stirs debate over risky research".

I was listening to a podcaster who forecast the pandemic 8 months before it hit the U.S.. There were bloggers smuggling updates out of China, and one of her sources even disappeared around Christmas time (if I remember correctly). Back then, my job required me to travel for weeks at a time…so I just listened in my car while this whole global disaster was in it’s infancy. You NEVER could have convinced me that the entire planet was about to shut down.

It’s bad here as well. Just go back and look at the reasons for the restrictions on gain-of-function experiments that the Obama administration put in place. Sloppy and careless handling of pathogens were observed even at the CDC itself. All they did was offshore the work to Wuhan to get around the restrictions.

You should look into the history of the Wuhan lab construction. It was a joint Chinese/French venture but the Chinese took over and restricted access by the French and ended up kicking them out. The French scientists/regulators refused to sign off on the biosafety level because the Chinese cut so many corners. AND officials were notified of the safety breaches but they chose to ignore them. This was the most profitable "accident" in history.
Funny how the US/NIH ended up paying for the Chinese to perform bioweapons research. Why would we work with one of our greatest rivals on something so harmful? Because there was $billions to be made? Cmon, nobody is THAT evil. Righr?

The news about the lacking safety was actually a while ago. And obviously it was on purpose. If you want an accidental leak, forcing inadequate safety standards is the way to do it.
The lab leak is the conspiracy, it was intentionally released. Anyone using a bioweapon would be scrutinized and penalized. Making it seem like a mistake or from a natural source were to have deniability. The U.S. funded it, DARPA had proposed it before. My father worked 'biodefense' and he called it from the start and predicted his own demise (which didn't occur, probably because the bioweapon wasn't as lethal as the next one will be).
I agree, except that it wasn't obvious. But when all the arrows point in the same direction: A fast track mRNA technology approval, then it starts to become clear. The way "Lab Leak" was censored does imply a purposeful release. I believe all the facts to the story will eventually become clear to the majority of people.

They're extremely dangerous viruses with the potential to wipe out humanity in a matter of weeks, the ONLY proper response to employees reporting safety problems is to solve them as soon as possible. If that's not happening, then someone above is restricting it for their own agenda on purpose.
That said, even before the leak I already theorized that things like this were happening in regards to many issues because it's an ideal way to stage an accident without having anyone held accountable for it. They can just keep pointing fingers in other directions and ultimately no one is punished and while it's often promised to get fixed... it often takes years and the fix is still about as inadequate as it gets. But it gets the people and the press to shut up for a few years and that's long enough for most to forget or stop caring, so it works.

The expert’s decision to not speak out until he was forced to speak out pretty much mimics most of the scientific and medical community during the pandemic. So many incorrect things were being said about virus transmission, prevention methods, the effectiveness of lockdowns and inappropriate attribution of cause of death, and these professionals knew and kept silent to the detriment of science and humanity. Trust has been lost and I don’t know how they’ll get it back.

This was the very first news about the leak origin. Just a couple months before the start someone from the US government inspected the lab and ran up a red flag.
It wasn't just inappropriate security choices. They were also short on the required materials and were poorly trained.

How did the United States have so many more deaths than other countries? If it didn’t originate here, we don’t have the highest population, or anywhere close to the most dense, we spend more money on healthcare than anyone else by far, and we had the most people that died? Can anyone explain that?
The cdc put out an unpublicized report that said deaths were significantly over counted, eg, with not from. And the average age at time of death was significantly past life expectancy.
