Oh fuck yeah Gojira! Gotta do flying whales, L’enfant sauvage, and the art of dying. The drummer and the singer/guitarist are actually brothers and Mario (the drummer) is one of the best alive
“The voice is just another instrument among the instruments”. Well said, and nice job picking up on that.. Gojira produces their own music, in their own studio, and every sound is exactly the way they want it. The lead singer/guitarist, Joe, has openly talked about the vocals being no more or less important than the rest of the instruments.
greatest fear of all... death. gojira are highly spiritual and environmentally aware in their lyrics. this was a good song to start since the newest album is somewhat easier to approach than their older work I feel. but they are HEAVY. For example, a Song like Love, Satan Is A Lawyer, Remembrance, Heaviest Matter of The Universe, Flying Whales, Explosia, Art of Dying, Vacuity.
@@irasac1 Considering how long ago I made this comment and the fact I was probably drunk out my mind, I can't think of what I was referring to off the top of my head when I said "Token Theory".
Yeah, the mixing was odd with this album, earlier recordings have the vocal levels higher. Still excellent. Go with Flying Whales next. Then test your mettle with the Heaviest Matter of the Universe
Flying Whales was on the poll one or two times but the chat bashed it, so it never happened. Lots of votes and comments for commercial songs like Silvera
@@HammerfestGaming Silvera is a great song, but Flying Whales is so atmospheric and conceptual, has a sort of arc to it. It's also got heavy breakdowns and rifts that consistently get stuck in fans' heads. Maybe Silvera is a better intro song and maybe they should go for that first. But I would argue that Flying Whales encapsulates the Gojira experience. I love that whole FMTS album
Here's my recommendations for Gojira tracks to listen and/or react to (if I had to pick, Where Dragons Dwell live at hellfest video is my fav - you get a real sense of who they are live in that): 3rd album: From mars to sirius - The heaviest matter in the universe (very heavy) - Flying whales (Gojira's signature track) - Where Dragons dwell (youtube: live at hellfest 2013 - a MUST see!!, don't miss out on this reaction) - Global warming (youtube: live studio) 4th album: The way of all flesh - Toxic Garbage Island - The art of dying (legendary track) - Vacuity - Wolf down the Earth / or / esoteric surgery 5th album: L'enfant sauvage - The gift of guilt (live Brixham academy) - L'enfant sauvage - Born in Winter - Explosia 6th album: Magma - Stranded - Silvera - Pray (live at red rocks only) - The cell / or / shooting star (live at bbc) 7th album: Fortitude - Born for one thing - Amazonia - Sphinx - New Found (still so fresh so hard not to recommend them all) 2nd album: The link - Embrace the world - Indians - Rememberance (live at Link Alive) 1st album: Terra incognita - Space time - Lizard skin / or /clone - Love (from 'link alive' ideally) / or / Blow Me Away (You)niverse
I love my gigs and metal festivals and having seen Gojira play a few times I can honestly say they are the TIGHTEST band unit on the planet, when they play together they don't miss a single note or beat, the professionalism is off chops...massive respect to a dedicated hard working band of pro's.
GET THE REST OF THE STREAM VIDEOS UP FOR GOJIRA!!!! I WILL WATCH THEM ALL BACK TO BACK. For real though lol i joined the stream when just before 10:00 local and you were nearly done. Lets GOOOOOO GOJIRA GOJIRA!
Ok so the font you're using on the thumbnail was created for a band called The Misfits. You are now obligated to check out their song "Dig Up Her Bones". Please and thank you ❤️ Love you guys!
welcome to the best french metal band world !!! - they've been around for more than 20 years and are finally getting the credit they deserve. my suggestions : "remembrance" (from "the link dvd") / "l'enfant sauvage" / "pray" ( live from red rocks ) / "where dragons dwell" (live) / clone
2:54 I like that part, too. It's nothing fancy, but it's such a nice touch. Most reactions don't seem to acknowledge it (small sample size, though). I just started exploring your videos. Lex is awesome. She's getting excited for the songs that made me excited, and that's exciting. I don't see any Mastodon reactions, though. Need to dig into their album Leviathan for songs like Iron Tusk, Seabeast or Hearts Alive.
Hi Brad, Hi Lex. Oh yes guys you are certainly part of the metal family ..to see you both getting into Gojira brought a smile to my face. They are a brilliant band ..a few track to maybe listen to are ...Pray live at Red Rocks , The Art of Dying live from Brixton, Flying Whales. I really love your reactions and channel. Love and peace from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
I've been a Gojira fan since 2005 or 2006. I've seen them twice - once on the L'Enfant Sauvage tour (at The Ogden), and once on the Magma tour (at Red Rocks). The best concert was at Red Rocks where I saw them with Opeth and Devin Townsend Project. I was almost in the front row; the pyro-technics felt like they were going to burn my face. Intense! My favorite song by them is "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe." This, for me, was the sound that made me fall in love with them. The newer albums (Magma and Fortitude) are more conceptual and milder than the older albums (in my opinion). Regardless, they've never lost that primal energy.
They said during the stream that they won't upload any live videos because they almost always get blocked. They might do one at the end of a stream but they won't upload them. They got a lot of requests during the stream for live videos because Gojira is an amazing live band, so they brought this up atleast a couple of times
Knowing that everyone will recommend the usual gojira masterpieces, like "flying whales" and "heaviest matter of the universe" (wich u guys should absolutely react to) I would love to see you guys checking out "The Gift of Guilt", "The Art of Dying" and/or "Amazonia". And thanks for this reaction! It makes me really happy to see you guys reacting to my favorite band :)
Came across Gojira a couple of years ago and hearing their music re-ignited my interest in heavy metal. I lost interest in the 90’s, and now at 50 loving Gojira and Jinjer. Thought provoking and heavy grooving. Loving their new albums released this year. Enjoying your reaction journey. Keep it going. Metal dad from Oz.

I know everyone's going to recommend Flying Whales, Heaviest Matter and Art of Dying but I'd say hold off on those until you get your Gojira ears, they're more advanced. There are so many great songs by Gojira! L'enfant sauvage, Silvera is more of a radio play song also great drums..every song is just fantastic but Flying Whales is a must!

You guys should probably start with Stranded or Silvera and then dive deeper into them lol

I can’t tell how much Brad is moving to the music or if his movement is because he’s sitting next to Lex
Brad's a baseline guy, the mellow tones. That's not meant in an insult sort of way, but I'd test the "Token Theory" on him.
