And I thought when we put a 15hp Johnson on a jonboat rated at 6hp we were maxing it lmao. Love it!
Pull the drain plug from the back at planing speed, this will drain the water. Had a major leak in the middle of the sea and this trick saved me.
Next, get a Seven Marine 627 on there. Sure, they cost $90K each but I would DEFINITELY watch that video!!!😁😁😁
Crank one full throttle forwards and the other reverse
You need to make a tie rod for the two motors to connect the steering and the throttle
yea that's what i was thinking too just drill a hole in each tiller handle find a bolt that will fit in the hole and a metal bar with two holes at each end and bolt up that way you only have to steer from one engine
deverick burrows yea that would be the bomb
Thats what that zoffinger guy did with like 3 25s pretty legit
Harbor Detail what about if he rigged up gears and sprockets to the throttle handles and had the tie rods have adjustable handles to maintain tension in the chain?? Ooohhhhh the possibilities
When you have to get to the island quick... 😂. Looks like a blast
"I'm going to be going really slow.... on turns"
where's the qualified captain when you need him
You're just crazy 😂 love it y'all be careful 🙂
Seems like that boat carried a couple of long outboards ever now and then, perhaps it is time for a pair of enginehoists 😀😋
Real title for the video, I almost sunk my own boat.... lol, nice small bilge pump.
I have two 1gph sump pumps in my 16ft woodie runabout.. both connected to a single-pull switch, one with a float switch. The last time I launched my boat I had full boat and forgot to put the plug in... took me a couple minutes to notice.. and the plug I normally use was in the truck in the trailer parking lot. I had a spare plug in a locked hatch, however my transom was almost under water by the time I noticed. I hit my sump switch and that bought me time to get the spare plug out and into the hole. The sumps then cleaned the bilge and all was good again.
Sump pumps can by precious time.. be that to fix a problem or call for help while you find something to float with/on.
Tell Ben to put the blunt down and lunch the boat the right way 😂
That thunderstorm in the background was cool too
Your buddy Ben is really MVP lol
Always wanted a John boat w twins. A little much there w the 5o's but cool anyway. Fk the haters. Were all aware of hp ratings and the laws. Maybe 20 more people can post it.
the older style tiller that you have on that 50 on the right. do you know if that style tiller handle will fit on a 90 hp? i have one im trying to buy but want to make sure it would fit first
Man, that would be bad ass if you mounted them both up all the way, then rigged them up and installed a small helm so you can actually steer them. Or at least install a linkage from one to the other and remove the handle off one of them then link the throttles together. That way you can safely control both outboard motors at the same time.
"I know it's not safe and I'm gonna be going real slow...".
Never own a Yamaha out board but those out board got some power.
This was definitely on qualified captain
Excellent video I love them 50 hp Yamaha's
This was S-T-U-P-I-D. I could've told everyone this was a bad move. You guys have so much to learn. And I'm no "safety Sally". But this was absolutely ridiculous AND dangerous.
These vids make me want to buy a jon boat and push the limits of motor size on it…get all Australia dinghy racer style out here in the CA Delta!!
How do you prime/choke this motor if no battery is being used but pull start only? Thanks in advance!
Hey, I see you’re at the Jungle Prada ramp. I live right near there. You should take me out on one of your boats sometime lol...
Pull the plug and never look back bro. It'll suck every bit of it out. Loved my old aluminum riveted boat. Lol.🤘
I use to run a Johnson 70HP short leg on my old 9ft punt. It fair dinkum flew 👌😎
Pull the plug next time and run It Wide open to drain all the water out I've done a thousand time works great
You know your boat comes with a built in bilge pump? You pull the plug while on plane
Fun fact 101: Getting more water in the boat then the drain plug can handle is useless
Or cant you fucking empty 2 of them at once? Lmao
I have done this thousands of times it works trust me cause my hull has a crack in it
@@ThatBoatGuy out of all the boat macnics who i watch on you tube, your the only one that ive seen that diagnosis and repairs then runs the motors being worked on . The others seem to be great at disassembling and talking about what they are taking apart without actually fixing anything . Thanks for all your vids!
dont drop the plug if u do that!!!😫
two 50hp tillers on a john boat and a 40hp tiller on a fiberglass is keeping up with him
Yeah, he needs jack plates to set the twins up properly, and ballast up front for starters. At that point he'd probably gain 10+ mph
It’s do to the drag the 40 weighs so much less
@Naiych lol
wow fresh water at the boat ramp!?!?! thats awesome!!
What does the manufacturers tag say the hp limit is on that boat?
MrSocialchange 30 lol
The real question is why you have 2 of those
llOPPOTATOll
The answer is why not
I just wondered the same lol. WHY???
llOPPOTATOll - to go faster, move more weight and just in case one brakes you have the other one. Their more reason then that but that just to name a few. Plus what if you're out on the water and the effect from taco Tuesday is kicking in. Don't you want to make it back to land ASAP 🤔
Honestly
NPC #34254334 Response: you dont now anything about boats at all do you?
I like both
for the best efficiency and stability you need both outboard props to be spinning opposite directions
U need your starboard engine to rotate in a clock wise way that the port outboard rotating counter-clockwise
1:51- that's what she said!
No!! that's what i said
Float pods....and connect/sync those motors together, it'll do great.
He was getting it with those twins!!!!!!!
That has more hp than my buddies 19 foot sea hunt skiff
I'd like to have one of those 50's for my old sea nyph.
One of those outboards can get him on the plane, let alone two😂😂
He planes the same boat with 1 9.9 and hes mate in the front
You gotta lock them up and make it so u accelerate more with one and let one off to turn
Oh bullshit. This was a stupid and dangerous idea to begin with. Puny transom and the entire hull isn't rated for anything close to 100hp.
What type of camera do you use please ?
Oh No my boat is floating now
It got water in it because the engines are long shaft?
Now put a 350 pro xs on it
Ezra Boren lol
Kml
You should put a 150 HP Optimax on the back, that thing will hit 80MPH! A Allison bass boat will hit low 70s with a 150!
I'd suggest building that stern to 20".
Top speed?
On a johnboat? 100horsepower??that's nuts...but it works 😎now it's time to push it to see how fast it can go
I'm sure not fast, jon boat hulls aren't built for speed, plus it's probably pretty heavy
Keys Customs lmao you clearly have not a clue what your talking about 😂
There's a secret group on Facebook called "high performance tillers". To join the club you gotta make your jon boat go 55+ mph. Yes...there are some very fast jon boats out there.
well.. you do some interesting stuff that's for sure.... ahhhhh.. ohhhhh K
That is super dangerous. lol. But awesome idea.
Hey I have the exact motor non tiller setup. What prop size/pitch are you using? Around what would you recommend for a 16 ft fiberglass boat prop wise I have problems with my holeshot when it's more then just me. The prop on now is 11 and 1/8 by 15 pitch. I'm thinking maybe scale down pitch like 12×13. Would appreciate any advice.
Trey B you're going to take advice from him wow!
@@mikelyons7511 very helpful comment. Thanks
I'm no expert on props but you will need a tach to see where the rpms are at WOT
Jungle Prada!!! See you out there...
Lol you swamped it
just because you can doesn't mean you should do certain things 2 motors doesn't mean you will twice as fast
Tim B. No, but it means you will go faster
Looks fun, bit over powered splash. Put the 50's on the other boat have more fun.
Where in Florida is that?
That was awesome.....
What size jon boat is it?
Have a place with good inexpensive bimini tops?
What's up with the water? Why dont you want to go in it?
I wonder how big of a Jon boat that is
Nice
Good old 2 strokes!
MrJhalmoes too bad they pollute the hell out of the water. Look at any lake no matter how large on a windless day. It looks like the Exxon Valdez was there. No shit, Lake Powell, Lake Mead are polluted big time. The first few feet of lake silt is one big oil sludge layer. Effing 2 strokes should had been banned 50 years ago.
Man if the Coast Guard, Marine Patrol or local Sheriff saw you doing that...Oh my! Your'e looking back wards and over powered! How is it the 40hp motor kept up with your two fifties? Fun to watch, but be careful man.
Mike Haden, unless he changed the props.
Gonna need a bigger lake
ThE BaTtLe Of ThE 2 sTrOkEs
INSANE
Dude the motors way more than your boat. Hahaha.
weigh?
@@bengoulding6963 sorry dude bad typo.
I told my dad I would buy a moter for 350 for a 100hp for a not the much of a big boat:) anyways love it
What top is that
Where do you get all of your tiller handles? I'm looking for one for my 2001 70hp, any recommendations?
Is that jungle Prada boat ramp
Hi, Are you interested in selling those two? Thanks.
That is sad about the fish, on a side note I love Carolina Skiffs
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
You could go up in pitch on both props. That would have gotten better speed due to less stress on each motor.
I have never seen such a bunch of stupid comments on top of a stupid & dangerous idea to begin with. That tiny transom has no business having "two 50hp motors" attached. The entire hull isn't even built or rated for "100 hp". He's lucky things didn't turn out worse than it did, and Marine patrol would've busted his ass big time, if they saw that.
@@howabouthetruth2157 I think one would have been fine although a 25 hp is what it should be rated for
Those engines would had no stress what so ever
This is where you need a friend to talk you out of this stupid idea.
Ah, yes, another Florida Man video lol
Some say hes a legend. But everyone knows about florida man
Why did you not want to hey in the water ? WhT was going on ?
hi man, I have the same boat I wanna know what motor you recommend me for that boat or the appropriate motor.
This guy is not the right guy to ask for recommendations from. Isn't that obvious from the video?
I would do a 25
That's why we all need to wash before and after to get rid of those aquatic hitch hikers. They kill all the local fishes and plants.
Hey I have a 1969 merc 20 horse and The top plug will spark but the bottom isn’t do you have any suggestions the motor was my dads and I’d really like to get it running again
Gage Smith stator or timerbase
Gage Smith it could also just be the spark plug lead or coil
Swap the working coil to the non working coil and see what happens. If it sparks you might have a bad coil.
Y has no one pointed out that they're not counter rotating motors......Florida yes.....but northern Florida....and it was slow lol
Have your lake salt water?
Lake apopka?
sweet!
Hi I’m looking for tiller for outboard motor were would you recommend to find them
Craigslist
how much does a 50 costs?
Looks like jungle Prada ramp
Fill that cooler and whatever else you have and put it in the bow and the stern will run higher and slow down gradually not all at once. You be lucky to not have the coast Guard come rescue you
Hold my beer.
Lol. Classic
water is really soft do if u crash it'll be OK 👌
Where is this.west coast of Florida?where exactly
common jones the gulf coast
st.pete
If you turn your globe east slightly, while looking at the east coast, the West coast will magically appear.
grumpybill holy shit!!!! I just tried that and you’re right!!!!
@@Jkur2009 bwahahahaha
Would just one still be overkill for a boat like that dize?
Yes the boat is probably rated to 30
Look up joogsquad about the alge he says it's from the sugar fields drawing into okachobe, I guess it's really under the radar he is trying to raise awareness for it
Jared Alexander dude shut up its been going on for years its very shitty indeed but not unknown watch the news
Jared Alexander its from water runoff from okeechobee you need to do more research yourself
You guys can fuck off I'm from California my beach are fine this guy making the video is from Florida that doesn't know
And I bet you don't even know how the news works that's not how you find shit out they ounpy out shit they are trying to push to get known you are dumb as shit just like the rest of them
I was just trying to let you guys know that live there, here in California we have perfected our farming techniques to make the best of everything we grow,,,,,,, they only reason I care about Florida at all is because of the wildlife and I want to fish it some day but if everyone from Florida is blind and as dumb as they are there gonna fuck it all up there self you guys have already killed more wild life in two months then you have in the last 2 years you fuck ups do something about your land for the rest of us and the younger generation
Why not get into that water?
Why is the fish dying? :(
I had triple 50s on a smaller boat
