She doesn’t over-sing the other artist, but she will go toe-to-toe if she thinks they can handle her (e.g. Mariah Carey, Deborah Cox). Whitney has always been respectful of the artist she performs with to make sure they have a great song at the end of the day.

Got a great story for you! When they were recording this Whitney's people told Kelly Price to pull back and not oversing Whitney. To not do too much. So she held back on her part. Then Whitney pulled her aside and asked her to be honest "did somebody tell you to hold back for my sake?" After Kelly relented and told her yes, Whitney was mad as hell and said she wanted Kelly on the track cuz she could blow! She said when she first heard her sing she was blown away and she wanted THAT Kelly on her song! Kelly said this in her Unsung episode.

It was said this was the type of music Whitney really wanted to do more R&B instead of the Pop sound either way she was gonna kill it. Both Kelly Price and Faith Evans have a wrote for many artists throughout their careers. Faith started writing songs for AL. B Sure and Christopher Williams in the early 90's under La Reid. She also started off writing songs with Usher who was 15 at the time. Faith also wrote and sang background on some of Mary J. Blige early album. "You Gotta Believe" , " I never wanna Live without You" and some others. She first met BIG at a photo shoot the same set of Flava in Your Ear w/Craig Mack.
Kelly Price sang back up for Mariah Carey, Faith Evans, Aretha Franklin, R Kelly to name a few and she was the last person to perform with Whitney Houston before she past. When she was 18, sang back up for George Michael at Madison Square Garden. She is very talented.
